Making sure everything goes together

Hello to whoever is reading this silly little post,

We are about 10 months away from our wedding and have a lot done which we are very proud of. Being a really visual person I am starting to have trouble seeing it all come together as one, and apparently it is starting to freak me out, because I have been have crazy dreams. Funny dreams but crazy, in the first one I was walking down the aisle in a church (we are getting married outside on a lake) and my cousin (maid of honor was sitting in a hot tub that was nicely placed to the left of the aisle in the church. Weird I know, and no I do not do anything abnormal before going to sleep.

So my question is does any one have recommendations for this? I am thinking of getting a big cork board and pinning pictures of the final things we have decided on. (colors, bridesmaids dresses, suits, center pieces). If anyone has any other helpful ideas that would be awesome!

Thanks for helping!

  • A private pinterest board might help. Also, consider taking pictures of the things you're using and putting them in a slideshow on your computer.

  • Everyone has weird wedding dreams.  I know I did.  Heck, I had wedding dreams even AFTER our wedding.  It's a rite of passage.  ;)

Do you have someone helping you with the decorating / planning?  Trust his/her wisdom.

Agree with PPs - Pinterest is your BFF for stuff like this.  The best advice I got when I was stressing out over details was this - "you will walk into the room (of our reception) less than an hour into your marriage?  Do you think you're going to notice if a certain shade of blue doesn't exactly match?"
  • I'm a very visual person too, and I had a hard time really knowing how everything would turn out, and if everything would go together. I used pinterest to help with color scheme/palatte, and any other ideas I came up with. I bounced ideas of off my venue coordinator and our DOC who could help, since they knew the venue and could tell me if I was off the mark. But honestly, I would just relax. Wine is definitely your friend. Even with all the trial runs and mock ups in the world, you're never really gonna know what everything looks like until it's all together. The day of the wedding, I was so thrilled that the BMs and GMs looked so damn good and the color purple we had picked coordinated so well with everything. Also, I almost starting crying when we got a first look at our reception hall-- that was the first moment I got to see everything together... table numbers, centerpieces, chairs, linens, etc. It was the perfect moment to have 18 mos of hard work accumulate like that.
