Hooray! Ring update PIP

So you all are probably sick of hearing about my damn e-ring by now. Haha!

 

I went into Jared last night and the outcome was better than I expected. They were happy to use my original diamond and put it in a new setting. They even sized the new ring and secured the diamond on the spot. I am so happy.

 

Here is the new ring with my diamond in it: 

 

And here is what it looks like with my wedding band. Not an exact fit, but it works! Sorry it is sideways: 

 

I hope these show up...I can't see them on my computer. Also, thank you, everyone, for your kind words and support throughout the process! It really helped keep me calm.

It is such a relief having it on my hand! FI was so cute last night, he made me close my eyes and then put the ring on my finger and when I opened my eyes he said, "will you marry me...in 3 weeks?" I told him no! And then said just kidding of course.

Be sure and have a jeweler check the prongs that hold the center diamond at least once a year.  There should be no charge for this.  After about 25 years, I had to have the prongs replaced in my solitaire because they became very thin over the years of banging it around.  This is normal wear and tear.

@CMGragain--That is great advice. I plan on going in for an inspection every 6 months. I'll make sure they check that. The prongs on this ring are a little bit taller than my last ring.

@duhitsd--It is similar, but not the same by any means. The original ring looked like my wedding band and the stone set up a little from the band.
