Invitation address to non-commissioned officer

I am inviting a Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force to my wedding. I have found several different etiquette rules for listing his name on outer and inner envelopes. I am hoping that someone here knows the proper way to write his name.

I've read that I should include his rank above his name, and I've read that it should have his name with no rank, followed by United States Air Force.

Thanks :)

  • So exciting! Congrats!!! Yes include his rank first and either full or last name only for the outside . Depending how good of friends you are I think you could just put his first name on the inside but that depends on the friendship. :)
