Invitation address to non-commissioned officer

I am inviting a Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force to my wedding. I have found several different etiquette rules for listing his name on outer and inner envelopes. I am hoping that someone here knows the proper way to write his name.

I've read that I should include his rank above his name, and I've read that it should have his name with no rank, followed by United States Air Force.

So exciting! Congrats!!! Yes include his rank first and either full or last name only for the outside . Depending how good of friends you are I think you could just put his first name on the inside but that depends on the friendship.
