Gloves and the ring exchange

I will be wearing opera gloves for the ceremony and just want to get an idea of how best to then do the ring exchange.  Has anyone seen gloves actually removed for that part of the ceremony and then put back on?  how did that go?  What about gloves with the button to just open that finger?  Anyone seen that work before?

I thought brides wearing gloves usually just wedged the ring over the glove and then switched it around later.

But, they do have ones where just the ring finger part can be removed:

For opera gloves, which are not usually worn at weddings, you slit the fourth finger of the lest hand glove so the the ring can be put on without removing the glove.  Older gloves had buttons on the side so they could be opened for this or for eating. They were made of kid leather, not cloth, and were VERY expensive.  You never eat wearing gloves.
