I am looking at a 7x9mm oval morganite ring that is approx. 1.80 carats. My ring finger is a size 5, and I want to see other people's rings with the same size hands!
This is probably not the best board on TK - and honestly I would try Wedding Bee's rings board, it's much more jewelry focused than anything I have found here!
This website will help you get an idea of what a ring will look like on your finger. It's geared at diamonds, but you can input the info to match how big the morganite will be to get an idea of what it will look like on your finger: http://www.diamdb.com/
I have a size 4 1/2 ring- My diamond is just under a carat. I actually wanted a smaller diamond, even though I never tried anything on ( I requested whatever H did be a surprise). It doesn't look small but it doesn't look overwhelmingly large for my small fingers. I would go try things on see how different sizes look.
I'm a size 4.75, my center stone is .83 plus a halo. It's about 1cm x 1cm and doesn't look too big for my hand. That being said, I wouldn't go bigger since I think it would be too much on my finger.
I second the opinion that you go try rings on to see what different sized stones will look like. You really won't be able to tell just by measuring.
I have a size 5 finger (actually 4.5-4.75 depending on the width of the band). I have a 0.50 carat diamond. I have tried on slightly larger ones. It starts getting comical around 1.1 carats, so I can't really imagine what a 1.8 carat would look like.
You all have such tiny hands! I'm a size 7 and we decided on something around 1 carat. It's really just about personal preference. If you go try some on you'll get a feel for what you like.
I have a size 6 finger (and they're kind of short and stubby... damn baby hands), with a marquise diamond just under 1 carat. I think it looks good, but marquises also kind of face up larger than their carat size implies. I tried a 2 carat marquise cz in a jewelery store to get a feel for what a certain band would look like once I put my center stone in... and omgoodness, it looked ridiculous!
Check out pricescope for questions like this! There is a ton of information and pictures.
I'm a size 7.5 and my 2 carat round stone - and I was surprised at how big it looked on my hand. Now, I'm totally used to it (and I love that its big!), but if I had tiny fingers, I don't think I'd go above 1.25 carats. Totally personal preference though.
Yes, want to add... that my "it was ridiculous!" comment was obviously a personal preference related only to what I liked on my own hand! No judgement for small or large stones here.
I'm a size 5.5, and I have a 0.75 carat equivalent stone. I'm not exactly a delicate person with my hands, so I needed something relatively small to cut down on the chances of snagging it, damaging the stone, etc.
I'm a 6.75-7 and my ring is a half carat. I think its the perfect size for me. The largest I would go would be a 1 ct but thats just personal preference. I tried on a 2 ct just for fun and while it was big, it didn't look too big.
size 4 finger, .71 carat diamond. I definitely wouldn't mind a bigger ring and I think that carat equivalent on a size 5 finger isn't too big but it's a matter of personal preference. I think you should definitely try on different sizes to get an idea of what you're comfortable with.

Still here and still fabulous!
@bethsmiles here you go!
.97 carats on size 4 1/2 finger
.70 carat on my size 6 finger
Here's my 1ct. cushion cut diamond solitaire on my size 7 finger. The bands each have around .67cts of pave diamonds in them.
