I have been a bit preoccupied this morning and just went through of this. Dexter looks just like my Gravy. This entire thing is horrific and I cannot believe someone who is supposed to be selfless is being such a douche. I have my fingers crossed for Dexter and that his owner sees him again very soon!!

Latest update: The Free Dexter FB is getting a lot of attention by way of trolls who are claiming to be fosters for the rescue. It's now known that the rescue has already adopted Dexter out to a new family, though why that wasn't shared information from the onset of this whole situation isn't clear (...my opinion, and it's only an opinion, is that they never intended to reunite as they are the type of rescue that thinks any owner who would "let" a pet get loose is negligent and therefore unworthy of pet ownership). Said trolls are coming off as very unstable and illogical and basically refuse to answer any legitimate questions. 

No word on the current status of Dexter's true owner and/or if she's finally been able to get a response directly from the rescue. Pink is tied up with work but will give an official update when she is able. 

ETA: Pink believe the Pres of the rescue may finally be attempting contact with her. She was also told she was harrassing the rescue and told to take the FB page down.

Don't rescues typically hold an animal for awhile to make sure they are adoptable and take them to a vet for shots/make sure they are healthy enough to adopt?

I just read the FB comments too. Humanity makes me sad. How could you not want to reunite a pet and its owner? I would be devastated if that was my cat. I'm hoping everything works out for Dexter and his owners.
