Are you wearing your veil to the reception?

I have a cathedral veil, and I love it, but trying to decide if I want a shorter one to wear for the reception. I can easily get a shorter veil with the matching trim (yay, Etsy!)

I feel like I don't need it all night, but I love how bridal it would look in the first dance photos and cake cutting photos.

If you wear it to the reception I would wear it for your first dance and then call it a night.  Think about how many times you are going to be hugged that night.  Every time someone goes to hug you they will do so around your shoulder area which means they will accidentally tug on your veil.  Do you really want to deal with that tugging all night long?  You will still look bridal in your big white dress and fancy hairdo even if you don't have a veil on.

I took mine off before the reception (after pictures)  I wore it for the ceremony, just because I felt t was part of the look  but for the reception i left just flowers in my hair.

I actually wore mine to the whole reception and part of the after party. It oddly didn't bother me at all.

Nope I'm ditching mine after the ceremony and just wearing the sparkly headband.

Nope, I'm switching to a headband after photos. I just don't want to be balancing it all night

I wore my fingertip length veil all night. I loved it, it looks great in pictures, and I had 0 trouble with it while dancing and mingling.

Mine was ankle-length. I only wore it for the ceremony and photos, took it off for the reception. Not having it tugged on trumped how it looked in photos.

I wore my veil up until the first dance, then took it off and added a sparkly hair comb.

I have a cathedral length veil, but the seamstress who is working on my dress is going to bustle the veil. I didn't know that could be done, but she showed me what she's going to do and how it will look bustled. My veil has a lot of bling, and it's going to highlight it when it's bustled. It's going to look great!

I wore my veil for the entire reception. I didn't have any problems with it at all. I actually wore it because it kind of stuck in my hair and I didn't want to tug on it and mess my hair all up so I just left it in. I took it off for the after party.

I have never heard of bustling a veil! I need to do this! Then if it bothers me I will just take it off.

I like having options.  Thanks, everyone!
