I feel like this is a thread I haven't seen yet!

I met FI in band class. He taught me to play french horn!!! He was my tutor. We do have pictures of us in a church play from when we were  little. Both of us remember the play but not each other. This happened at least 6 years before we met in band class. I'm not sure which story counts!

We met on Match.com. He "winked" and I "winked" back. Definitely not that exciting of a story, but my one month of Match is still the best $20 I've ever spent.

Ha, I was trying to get a free 6 months, so I had to contact a certain number each month to qualify... he was one of my number padding emails! lol

eHarmony. My friend convinced me that one month wasn't long enough to quit online dating so I paid for a second month. DH was matched with me the next day. You can immediately close a match if you aren't interested and I closed him because he lived in a suburb and I didn't want to leave the city to date a guy. He sent me a please reconsider message so I decided to give him a chance because he was the only guy I immediately closed to do that. I found out later that he sent all the ladies he found attractive the reconsider message if they closed the match with no communication.

I met my H at a pizza parlor. He was living in another state at the time and was visiting his best friend who lives in Denver. I was out with some friends and we bumped into each other. We started chatting, went for a couple of drinks, and then exchanged numbers. He would drive 4 hours each way every weekend to see me until he finally moved to my state and we have been inseperable ever since.

We met at work when I was still married. When I told my boss I was getting divorced, he encouraged me to talk to my now DH to talk me out of getting divorced (DH's divorce was beyond terrible). He obviously did not talk me out of it

H and I were set up by a teacher I worked with who met H at a friend's christmas party.  She came back from the Christmas break and said "I met your future boyfriend, no I met your future Husband..."  We met 2 weeks later and were pretty much inseparable from that point on.

Okcupid! I can't remember what he said to me first, but we had a lot of weird things in common, like loving this little hole in the wall restaurant that was in my hometown and that he'd been to randomly whenever he'd been in that town, and we both liked this band that most people haven't even heard of. That's what got my attention, but the more we talked I realized he also had a great sense of humor which is a MUST. On our first date, we spent like 10 hours together and not one second was it awkward or boring.

Social sports leagues are big in NYC for young professionals. I joined a team that a super casual friend of mine was starting. She and H were good friends from training for a half marathon. We were chatting one night at bowling and realized we lived 1 block away from each other.

That was almost 4 years ago and we have been together pretty much ever since. I also got to be really good friends with the super casual friend!

FI and I met about 8 years ago when we both worked for a major retail store.

The first memory I can remember of him is a couple years later... a bunch of people from work rented out a couple hotel rooms and had a party. I was 21 at the time, but didn't know how old FI was, and I said to him "we're the only people here actually old enough to drink!"

Yeah, he was 17....

We were friends for about 6 years before we got together.

I probably met him before when I think I met him, I was just blackout drunk, so I don't remember.

The time I consider meeting him, he was probably blackout drunk by that point. He and his buddy showed up to a new years party after skiing and drinking all day. Everyone got hammered (well... they got more drunk than they were already I guess). I smashed a champagne bottle in the street, and then everyone who was sleeping over passed out.

I woke up about an hour later to a ruckus, and he was trying to climb out a third story window. He doesn't remember it but you better believe everyone else who was there does.

We got together about 5 years later. He and a mutual friend were having a comment discussion on facebook, I chimed in and we ended up messaging each other and arranging to hang out. Been together ever since.

Work!  And I was super mean to him to the first time we met and worked together.  I wasn't supposed to work, got called in and away from Christmas shopping with my mom and was beyond annoyed that I was there.  We were assigned to work the same area and he bore the brunt of my bad attitude.  Somehow, about three months later, he was over it enough to ask me out.

But he had responded to my message and seemed refreshingly normal. So I gave him a chance.

We met at a 4th birthday party, the son of a mutual friend. I left the house thinking 'screw it, what do little kids think about how I look today?' and he still mocks me for looking like I was about to clean the house "but still hot".

My best friend introduced us. He was friends with her husband. She'd wanted to set us up for years but our single phases never lined up until 2 summers ago. We both wanted to meet naturally rather than a setup anyway, and finally met at her housewarming party.

He had NO GAME whatsoever and when I drove him home (his buddy left earlier; we stayed talking til 2am) he gave me the most awkward hug. He Facebook friended me a few days later, I hung out with his friends to watch MNF, then he finally asked me out.

We met in physics. In lab, we sat at the same table and he asked to borrow pencils, erasers, etc. Then, in physics lecture class, I heard someone talking about the cute redhead in lab. Curious, I turned around, and it was him 2 rows back talking to his friend. Busted! He facebooked me and asked me to come over to work on hw. That turned into the best kind of physics ever he did ask for the first kiss, and eventually if I wanted to do "it". He was such a gentleman.

met in Nashville... Both for bachelorette and bachelor parties! Our groups started hanging out at a bar and FI and a friend of his stuck around with us. We exchanged numbers and talked on the phone for about a month before meeting. He was from Indiana and I am in Ohio so met halfway!

5 months later he moved to Columbus! Later the following year we had a surprise (I was on the BC shot) son who is now 2!

can't wait to marry him next year and make our little family official!

eHarm. My sister signed me up and he was a match I got after I forgot to cancel my month so it auto renewed. He was the wittiest match I had - had awful pics - out of focus, random - but his profile was just so flippin' funny that I started communication. We went back & forth for about a week and I continued to be so impressed with how well written he was so we exchanged numbers and proceed to talk/text each other for hours upon hours until our first date about a week after that. I knew within 5 minutes of him walking in the door to the bar that I was going to marry him. He reached the same conclusion before we even got to dinner.
