Good - resort was beautiful. We went for a food/golf event which DH was one of the guests chefs. I thought I was invited to only 1 event, then had to fend for myself. Nope, I was invited to all 4 nights of food/wine pairings. Food was amazing. There were some Michelin star chefs cooking. I have more pictures of food than anything.
3 massages in 6 days.
Got to see good friends.
Got to go sailing.
Bad - bad rains. Like 12 inches of rain bad. The kitchen was flooded. TWICE. 2 full days of show stopping rain. Plus another day of the pool being shut down.
DH's iPhone 6 was either lost and/or stolen in Newark airport. Not sure if it was dropped or taken out of his bag. We do know that the last track has it about 1 hour and 20 mins away from the airport in Manchester Township, NJ. So even if it was lost, it was taken afterwards. So anyone lives in that area and wants to go on an iPhone hunt contact me. LOL
Flight out of St Martin was 3 hours late. Caused us to miss dinner with his family. Actually we didn't see them at all and just got a hotel room near the airport. We did get to have laughs at a bar watching people get blown around when jets took off at the St Martin Airport.
Flight to Aspen also delayed. Ended up spending a night in Denver as a result. That did allow us to get DH a new iPhone though.
ODD I made a massage appointment for the room one day. It happen to be the day it POURED. During a time DH happen to be on a break. Like the good boy he was he left for the bar. Well 15 minutes before my 90 mins massage is over DH comes in the room because he has to get back to work. Well there was a huge, body builder type-guy (huge shoulder,s huge arms and legs) massaging me. He was SOOOOO uncomfortable seeing that. He is okay with me getting massages (said I should get the other 2 after this happened), but actually seeing me in our room with the guy massaging was just too much for him to see. He is an out of site- out of mind kind of guy. My last 2 massages were done in the spa. Ha.
Met this random guy at the airport in St Martin. He had a few days off from his air traffic controller job and he was flying around to get miles. He flew from Albuquerque to Atlanta - St Martin - Atlanta - Dallas - somewhere else- Albuquerque. Never leaves the airport. Cost was like less than $500 for the tickets. I've heard of people doing this. Just never met one in real life.
What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests. Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
