Hello all,

I have been perusing this site for awhile, but haven't had the courage to actually say anything.  I got engaged in May on memorial day and our wedding is this summer on July 11th.  I am a mixture of emotions!  I am also in my first year of grad school, so I have definitely been stressed!  I am glad to be here and hope you all are doing well also!

If you plan on sticking around and posting to the boards, change your user name to something identifiable - it's easy to get all the Knottie#s confused. And that way people can remember you and help you with stuff.

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies!!   Thanks for the heads up about the username change, just did that.

My wedding will be in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  I currently live in the Minneapolis area of Minnesota, but all of my relatives, including my aunts, uncles, and grandparents are in Green Bay and I have always wanted a family wedding with my amazing extended family.  I moved to Minnesota when I was 11, so just my parents and brother are here.  I feel bad though because my friends and my fiancé's friends and family are all here.  He assured me though that he wouldn't be happy unless I was happy with the wedding and he knows in my heart of hearts that I have always wanted a Green Bay wedding surrounded by family.  My grandma is 96 and lives in an assisted living facility.  She holds a special place in my heart and I have always wanted her to see me get married.  She can't walk and is too old to travel five hours so that was a major factor as well.

I was thinking of a beach type theme with an ocean blue color, or really any shade of blue is fine with me!

Whew!  That was lot!  Sorry to unleash all of that on you lovely people right away!  I do have a couple of wedding dress photos.  This was before we actually got engaged, but I was pretty sure that it was going to happen and I wanted to share that experience with one of my dear friends in North Carolina since she would not be able to share that experience with me in Minnesota.  These are just a couple of ideas!

Congratulations! And congrats on nearing the end of your first grad school semester! DH and I planned a wedding while we were in grad school too. Helps if you can set aside time on the weekends for specific wedding tasks so you don't get overwhelmed during the week. We went with an all-inclusive reception venue as opposed to DIY stuff since we were so busy with school and the price difference turned out to be negligible in the long run.

Actually, scratch that!  I just looked both of them up and I would definitely go with Nate Archibald.  He has that down-to-earth, hot boy next door, sexiness thing going on!

Thank you!  I am leaning toward that style, but I would like something with more a sweetheart neckline or A-line in the front.  I think those terms are right.  Shows how much I know!

Aray82-Nice!  That is comforting to know!  Thank you!  Great idea on the all inclusive!  That had to be so much easier, or at least a little bit!

Sara-I love cheese and mayo!  I am from Wisconsin, so that is kind of a given for the cheese, lol.  Aww..puppy gifts are adorable!  I don't have a dog, but I wish we had one.  We just can't afford one and don't have the time to properly take care of one.  Hopefully, when we get a house and steady jobs!

Esstee- I think I am still looking, although I love the neck and back on the lacy one too.  I don't think I want strapless because I am afraid that I don't have enough to hold the dress up lol.  I do love the lacy, vintage look though.  I would like something simple, yet elegant. I am all for the understated.  I do love the back on the lacy one though.
