I was SOOOOO tempted to order a We-Vibe last night during a friend's online Passion Party because they were offering 20% off...but alas, I have taxes due and Christmas and just couldn't justify spending $200 on a vibrator at the moment - sigh.

My husband and I are still relatively new to the sex thing, so no O from penetration for me.  And actually DH has some trouble himself  - he assumed that he would be awesome at sex from the get-go, so when he wasn't (because that would be pretty much impossible to be an expert beginner), he got in his head and now has a lot of trouble with sex.  Oh joy.  So I get the whole being really upset when you are raring to go with sex and are wearing jingle bells (or nothing) and he just looks at you and says "meh". 
The silver lining in my cloud is that DH has really good hands. 
As to vibrators, I do not yet own one, but really should.  I'll treat myself in the new year.

It took me a while to not be embarrassed to masturbate in front of my husband, for two reasons:

1) Let's be honest--it IS weird at first, so of course it takes some getting used to, and

My H goes from 0 to throwing me on the bed if he thinks I'm giving myself a hand in the shower.  I think him imagining me doing it is even sexier than the real thing because I'm usually just trimming with my razor, not getting it on solo.

@Inkdancer My husband's antidepressants had sexual side effects as well. He isn't on them anymore, which sometimes is great (because I'm actually capable of getting him off successfully on a regular basis), and sometimes not (because the only times I've come close to coming during sex are the times when he's been able to essentially last until my legs are tired).

Magic Wand is like turbo vibrator--works great--but kind of unsexy/unwieldy. And semi-loud. If you don't need it turbo, "Hello Touch" by Jimmyjane. You can put it on your fingertips or he can. Quieter and more nimble.

@lurkergirl We're a little anxious about that, too, but it looks like the inner portion is designed to be pretty flat. So unless your partner's girth is already pushing your limits, it should be okay.
