I agree with everyone else.  Your "friend" is in denial.  Your "friend's" husband is an ass.  She either needs to wise up and kick him in the ass until he gets the memo or you need to stop associating with both of them.

Man, denial is a crazy thing. Regardless of her intentions, she's not the kind of person I'd want as a friend. It just makes me really sad that she puts up with that behavior, even at the expense of her friend. 

Weddings often end up being catalysts for ending relationships that should've ended a long time ago. This is yours, it sounds like.
