Re: Not inviting best friends spouse

  • She knows everything that happened. It's been a couple years but I've blocked him on facebook and my phone so there is no contact. When I told her everything that went down, his excuse was that I was her best friend and therefore he considered me a second wife. She actually laughed this off as a joke. Thank you for your response.

And yes these advances happened while they were married.
So he thinks being married to your friend means he's just entitled to you too?  Fuck consent and being a decent human being, you're the second wife because he fucking says so!! Fucking worthless sack of shit, I'd not only not invite him, I'd give a photo of him to the security and vendors at your venue instructing them to kick him the fuck out if he goes anywhere near the place.  Fuck, I'd tell them he's dangerous and has made threats just on the off chance that would get him tackled extra hard.

He isn't entitled to SHIT.  How fucking dare he act like you're a fucking possession he can fucking claim.  Fuck men who feel entitled to any woman they want regardless of what she feels.  Fuck them up the ass with a cactus on fire.
Your rage makes me want to kiss you.

And the bold is my favorite thing ever.
  • Haha, I came here to reinforce @HaileyDancingbear and her cactus on fire, too!

A plus, lady. I'm going to unabashedly steal this for my everyday life (yeah, I have lots of occasions to say "fuck that," what of it?)

  • I agree with everyone else.  Your "friend" is in denial.  Your "friend's" husband is an ass.  She either needs to wise up and kick him in the ass until he gets the memo or you need to stop associating with both of them.

You know how his actions/words made you feel and NO ONE else can speak to that - if it made you uncomfortable that is all that matters period.  Please do not let anyone try to joke their way out of inappropriate behavior.  You are worth more than that!

  • Man, denial is a crazy thing. Regardless of her intentions, she's not the kind of person I'd want as a friend. It just makes me really sad that she puts up with that behavior, even at the expense of her friend.

Weddings often end up being catalysts for ending relationships that should've ended a long time ago. This is yours, it sounds like.

Hailey, your whole response just warmed my heart, but that last sentence just... oh my god.

Hahaha, don't be. I just like to be belligerent for my own amusement. I'm normally not even actually that angry. (Don't tell the clients on the Fuck You Phone Line. Oh, and where do I submit an application?)
