Good Morning!!

I'm back to my morning routine today, and in a way it feels good (in another way, I wish I could retire at the ripe old age of 35).  My next vacation days will be at the end of January - going back to Disney for an extended weekend!!

Not much happening here.  I had ordered a new key for my desk at work and my suspicions were correct - somehow I managed to lock my desk keys IN the desk.  No idea how that happened, guess just talent on my end.  Oh well, now I have 3 desk keys and am out $10, no big deal.

I never updated - for Christmas I had bought H an expresso pot thing that goes on the stove... he had ordered one from Amazon and never told me, so I bought him the same one he had bought (but had shipped to his house).  It's fine, his parent's expresso pot is in horrible shape, so we're just going to give one to them.  Now I have to figure out what to give H for his birthday.

BIL and his GF (H's side) asked us out for New Year's Eve.  I'm kind of surprised because lately our relationship has been a little 'strained' with BIL's GF.  We told them 'sure' so hopefully we can just move on.  For those that don't remember she basically told BIL that we were going to buy a house and kick him out on the street sooner than we were telling him.  I was/am looking at houses online to figure out what is in our price range - but we're not ready to buy.  Even if the perfect house popped up on the market, we have other ways to get it besides selling H's house (and my house) and I think in the end we'll end up renting them both out.

Not really much going on here, just another day.

I got to sleep in a little bit today since I'm working from home. DH is going to pick up Maddux around 10:00. I can't wait to kiss his furry face. Then we are dropping off our car finally to get fixed. It has been such an eye sore for the past month. I'll probably go to CrossFit tonight and afterwards have soup! DH's mom always makes us big batches of soup and gives us half the pot. They are so yummy and are nice for nights where neither of us want to cook.

Also, I got a call back from my OB yesterday and my HCG tests came back negative so that's good. She recommended that we wait a whole cycle before TTC again but she also said that if I get pregnant that it's not going to be that huge of a risk since my CP happened so close to my period. I'm not entirely sure what to think about that lol. I guess we will just go on trying and if it happens it happens.

@Southernpeach89 - Yay for Maddux  coming home!!  Will he need 'the cone of shame'?

My H slept on the couch last night so I could get some sleep.  I know he doesn't sleep well on the couch, but I appreciate it.

UHG - I'm trying to decide if I need some new shirts.  At my work, we're basically an 'anything goes' type of dress code (seriously, I've seen people here in pajama pants), so I typically wear jeans and a t-shirt.  I think I want to start dressing nicer, so I already spent about $120 on some shirts earlier (I'm not giving up my jeans... maybe I'll wear some skirts/dresses in the summer).  I have about 6 shirts added in my cart right now all for slightly under $100 (after discount) and I'm trying to decide if I should order them or not.  I know I need to go through my closet and get rid of the shirts that do not fit or that I just do not like.  The other thing is - all the shirts I like are a similar style (basically a peasant top <<Like This>> vs <<THIS>>) where there are some slight differences but for the most part they are the same shape.  What do you ladies think?

I have the beginnings of a migraine (and it's all my fault, because I haven't been perfectly good about taking my preventive pill every day lately) and H is home sick with a stomach bug.  hope we can pull ourselves together for our trip tomorrow!!

@southernpeach89 - I'm sure Maddux was a very good boy at the vet and he's probably looking forward to giving you furry kisses!

Hey ladies!!!

This week sucks. I can't seem to get back into the swing of going to bed at a reasonable time/waking up early. I didn't have enough time to shower this morning, AND I forgot to brush my teeth after drinking my coffee, so I feel gross today. 

For my Serial-obsessed friends: Last night both FI and I read part 1 of Jay's interview, and then spent the next 2-3 hours discussing it. We have different opinions on him, so spent three hours disagreeing about it. I will admit to not being very nice when someone disagrees with me. By the time we went to bed, I was exhausted from discussing it, and annoyed with FI because he won't just agree with me, dammit. 

Then I got up to go to the bathroom, and had to nudge the dog out of the way so I could open the door. Apparently I surprised her so she snapped at my foot. I yelled at her, went to the bathroom, and slammed the door. When I came back to bed, FI laughed at me for getting mad at her, and that pissed me off even further. It was just not a good night. Finally, I fell asleep and dreamt of successfully sneaking sneaking random items INTO Mexico. I have no idea what is going on in my brain.

Also, last night I spoke to my mom, and she told me that my middle sister is planning on breaking up with her boyfriend of 5 years. They've been living together for about 3 of them, and she moved to MA when he got accepted to grad school there. Apparently, they don't even have sex any more, and hardly speak. She said that getting him to have a conversation is like pulling teeth. I feel so bad that she has to deal with this - I can't imagine how hard it must be to end such a long relationship. Now I'm just hoping that whenever she does it, it will give our younger sister the motivation to FINALLY break things off for good with her pathetic, cheating, lying boyfriend that no one likes.

@Dignity100 - I think variety is good -- but that is something I struggle with. If I feel good in something, I want to buy it in every color. I've been trying to work on that.

@hummingbird125 - I AGREE WITH YOU! M must just be confused. There is no other possible alternative to him being on Jay's side. What exactly were you trying to take into Mexico, you weirdo?

I'm tired which seems to be a trend lately. H and I had a Devils game last night (we actually won!) and we got home around 10:30 then helped my aunt with something and finally got into bed at 11:30. I am learning that 5 hours of sleep is not sufficient especially when it's multiple nights in a row. I'm hoping to watch the last 2 episodes of SOA season 2 tonight and then get to bed early. 

Work is dead, again, and I'm anxiously awaiting the start of the Walking Dead marathon that's starting on AMC at 9am. I haven't seen the first season in a while so that should keep me busy all day!

@swazzle I am pretty jealous you can watch movies/TV at work.  I wish we could it's dead here too and it would make the day go by faster.

I had an awesome rehearsal last night for my show, we open next Friday and I'm beginning to get more excited about it.  I feel in a funk the past 2-3 days I don't know how to shake it.  I wish we had better plans for NYE also.  I hope I kick this funk in a few days though.  All I feel like doing is sleeping and curling up with a good book.

@southernpeach89‌ Yay for furry kisses from Maddux today! @Dignity100‌ I'm a little jealous of your Disney trip I'm back at work this week but having a hard time getting into a routine since it's a shirt week again. I'm excited for NYE, but a little bummed that BF and I are going to have to spend our first one apart. We've both got traditions and plans that were made before we got together, and logistically we can't make it to both. The only other thing going on here is trying to start undercoating from Christmas. I love putting everything up, taking it down, not so much

@Swazzle -  I was trafficking small pieces of fabric and cheap jewelry. I was in the back seat of a van and had the brilliant idea of stuffing items in different places all around the van. This way, if they found something, they might think that was in and wouldn't look for anything else. The border patrol agent didn't find any of our stash and just let us keep going. Whew.

Im in a really shitty mood this morning. On my way to work i decided to stop at Starbucks, aaand managed to blow my tire. Thank god the tire place was across the street because i wasn't making it much further.

My boss came and picked me up just to tell me how short handed we are at the office. Greeeeeeat.

On the bright side i made shrimp tacos last night that were yummy.... I wish i had thought top grab them for lunch Today since now Im not sure I'll get to eat

@Peaseblossom55 - It's definitely a major perk! I've been in a little bit of a funk lately too, it's probably from the winter being... winter. 

@hummingbird125 - I'm so glad you didn't get caught and thrown into a Mexican prison or found out by the cartel. They are no joke. 

@IrishDreamer - I hope your day gets better!

@Southernpeach89 - For my dogs I've tried 2 different 'cone of shames'; one is called the boobooloon which Loki figured out how to get it off right away (just velcro) but Nessie did well with it.  Basically it's a donut that goes around their neck that limits their mobility, they can still see in all directions.  The other cone I have is called 'Comfy Cone' which is just a heavy padded cone that seems more comfortable than having the piece of plastic around their head (Loki did well with this one).

@CocoBellaF - Hope you and your H feel better soon!!

@Hummingbird125 - Hope you get back into the swing of thing.  It stinks about your sister, I know my ex and I were together for 7 years and lived together for 5, it wasn't easy but it was the best thing for me.  Everybody deserves to be happy!

@Swazzle - Thanks - All colors it is !!  Do you work from home or how are you able to watch TV while at work - I'm so jealous of this!!

@Peaseblossom55 - Our Disney trip is just really an extended weekend.  We were able to book it for under $1000 which is why we decided to do it... it's kind of a mini-honeymoon-redo thing.  We might go back in May for Star Wars Weekends (another extended weekend trip) and then late Sept/early Oct (1st anniversary trip) since we have the annual passes.  I think EVERYBODY is in a funk - look at the posts on here about everybody saying how tired they are and even admitting to bad moods.  You're not alone!

@MsSparky - Can you and your BF at least spend New Years together.  I know it's not the same as NYE, but any time spent together is special.

@IrishDreamer - Are they able to patch your tire?  Was your boss at least appreciative of you coming to work since he's so short handed?

@Dignity100 We'll probably wait on getting to Disney until there are kids in the picture but I was thinking this morning how much I wanted to get away for a few days.  I should start a ticker countdown for the Bahamas though...

At work today and did NOT sleep well.  I was up all night with several bad dreams including one with spiders crawling all over me.  I actually woke myself up trying to kick them off...thankfully I didn't wake up H by kicking him.    Yesterday was a long day with a closing so I'm hoping today isn't as busy.  H and I have no plans for NYE either...we suck.

 

I'm trying to decide between two kitchen hoods, ladies.  Any input?!?  The first one is HERE and the second one is HERE.  They are both pricey but any thoughts?

@Hummingbird125 Your dreams sound just as crazy as mine were last night. I was running around trying to gather up my wedding dress and other random accessories for some reason and taking breaks in between to try and redo my hair which was in some sort of crazy curly updo. There was other stuff going on too but I don't remember it anymore.

@IrishDreamer I'm sorry your tire blew out! Hopefully you got your Starbucks first!

I'm working from home today so I slept in and I'm still in my PJs. H made me coffee this morning because I've been in a really cruddy mood lately. I think it's the weather we've been having both at home and when we were in Indiana...I swear I haven't seen the sun in 2 weeks and I'm feeling some serious SAD coming on. Tomorrow and the next day are supposed to be clear days though so hopefully that'll pick me up and help me feel normal again. No special plans today other than work and try to do some cleaning up around the house tonight. Last night I came home and went straight to the couch so I seriously need to get myself more motivated today.

Morning, all!

FI is still owed time off from having to go in on days he was supposed to get off and I only get paid for 20 hours per week, so we're going to sneak away early today and go shop for furniture again. My mom and I are also going to get together and shop for bridal lingerie. My dress is really structured, so I'm pretty much down to needing a strapless bra (oh how I hate thee) and underwear. We'll try a specialized store to see if I can find a strapless bra that doesn't annoy me.

H got called in to edit a package for one of the shows that didn't get done in time. So he's going in to work for an hour today. It makes me feel slightly less jealous of his time off. :-) I got a TON of editing done last night and I was really pleased about that. I just need to be equally productive the rest of the week.

@Dignity100 - Yay for Disney! That should be a great time to go to the parks.

@Southernpeach89 - That's great news on the TTC front. {{{HUGS}}} for whatever happens next. And I hope Maddux can leave his stitches alone so he can avoid the cone of shame!

@LaPeanut1018 - It's been super gloomy here too and I think it's making everybody crabby and tired.

@KeptInStitches - I had the hardest time finding a strapless bra that worked with my dress and my chest!!  Some of them had way too much push up and I was too modest for them while others showed with my dress.  I ended up with a minimizer strapless bra which was the most comfortable (not saying much there) and looked nice under my dress.  Good luck!!!

Good morning!

The last two mornings I have been getting up crazy late, even though I told FI to wake me up before he leaves for work. I haven't even been staying up late, IDGI. Yesterday I woke up around 10am and stayed in bed reading my phone until 10:45. Then I realized that I had lunch plans with my cousin- had to rush and shower to make it on time for lunch. Lunch was great and tonight I have dinner plans with FI's best friend. I seriously love holiday break for all of the dining opportunities!

FI and I usually go out every NYE for fancy dinner- but we didn't make any reservations this year, so we missed the boat. I decided to just buy fancy food from the market and make something at home. I bought some ny strip steak, asparagus and colossal shrimp. I may go back to the market today to pick up something else....but I have no clue what I'm making exactly. Any ideas, ladies?

@KeptInStitches Are you 100% sure on needing a strapless bra? I was convinced I'd need some sort of strapless or longline bra for under my dress but when it actually came in, I realized I had enough support for my DD boobs to go without. With that said, I really like Soma for bras. I've gotten my best strapless bras from them.

@cocobellaf Thanks! I just don't know if I should have a starch in there too? I'm trying to figure out what type of marinade for the steak, and how to prepare the asparagus. Maybe I should skewer the shrimp? Or put them on top of the steak? I don't know...too indecisive!

@dignity100, the good news is I have a strapless bra that would work with the dress - the cut is fine as far as showing goes, it's just not very comfortable. Plus when all the lace folds down under my boobs, it's not sexy. I'm hoping to do better today.

@Keptinstitches I have small boobs B cups and the seamstress was just able to sew cups into my dress.  Could that be an option?
