Ohhh, which Lego set? H is also a Lego freak, and he I got him the Tower Bridge last year for his birthday. It took him 3 days to put it together. 4,295 pieces. He got me hooked as well. My biggest piece I put together was the Haunted House.

That's what I got him for Christmas. He's usually got sets together in a few hours but he's working on a 5×3-ish coffee table and has little room to sort the parts.

I want to get him the Sydney Opera House next, but NOT the one from the Architecture series as I think it looks cheap.
Oh, mine wants the bigger one as well. Along with a Star Wars X-Wing fighter. We have R2 D2, so you know, he needs the fighter to go with him. I could go and on about the sets he built, or wants. He is also very proud to own all the Lego's he had as a kid. As hobbies go, this one isn't too bad price wise.
  • I'm a chef's second wife, haha. I only really lose him when he's working, though, and since he's not in charge right now he's done once he gets off.

He does game a lot, but I watch him do that because I enjoy it, although I'm not a big gamer myself.

  • Destiny since his birthday and now it's Shadow of Mordor.

It's ok though I left him once for about 8 months when I bought Red Dead Redemption.

  • Fantasy baseball. I HATE fantasy baseball. DF spends no less than 30 hours a week during baseball season tinkering with his team/doing research and reading stats/whatever the hell else you do when playing fantasy baseball. He basically spends part time job hours managing a pretend baseball team on the internet.

And Smash Brothers. After it came out, I don't know that I saw him at home without his DS in his hands for a month.

  • I was thinking about the thread and realized I would LOVE a Lego set.  My younger brothers use to get them for xmas I always played with them.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • We have a new roommate, Skyrim.  Skyrim and FI hang out a lot.  Also, when it's NBA season.

Are you and @charcolandblush sharing a spouse?
  • That god damned fucking Clash of Clans phone game. It makes me so ragey.

Trivia Crack. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. I'm at level 28 since yesterday.
@ashley8918 Tell me about it! He'll play at the most inopportune times and it makes me ragey too.

@lolo883 My name is loveislouder and I'm a Trivia Crack addict.
  • H's marathon training. He's run a marathon every year for the past three years and is determined to run one every year until he can't. He's running the Lake Placid marathon in June and has already starting training full-bore. From now until June 14th, our daily schedule will revolve around whatever workout or run he has to get in, including the three other races he's signed up for between now and then.

  • my FI is a huge Star Wars lego collector. The amount of money that goes into it....

I got him the Millennium Falcon one year for a 'just because' present when we were long distance. He said that he knew he had to marry me right then. haha.

He proposed to me by hiding my ring in a new box of Star Wars Lego. A box that I gave him shit for buying. He asked me to help him build it because he thought it would be a fun project to do together and when I dumped out the bags, there was my ring box.

Now I end up helping him build most of the lego he buys as it reminds me of that, and its actually a pretty nice way to spend an evening, creating something together

  • I just started playing Trivia Crack. I love it.
  • We now have three TVs and an 84-inch projector in our living room so FI and our roommate can play Destiny, DA:I, and Farcry while still watching hockey. I am a PS4 widow for sure.

I have a friend who has an enormous lego collection. Once, right after he had a bad breakup and moved back into his kinda-fancy but by then mostly-unfurnished loft, he filled up a wading pool with Lego and we'd get intoxicated and play with it while hanging out on the concrete floor.

He's about halfway done but it's been sitting for a few days and will continue to sit until Friday (next day off) because he's working so much. I told him I wouldn't ask him to do anything on Friday except go to the doctor and finish the damn thing- I want my coffee table back!

@lolo883 @mrsdee15‌ FH has lost me to both Trivia Crack AND Skyrim. So good.

  • I lose the kitchen table to Warhammer 40K quite frequently, but since he's painting we still basically spend time together.

But I do lose him to Shadows of Mordor, DA: Inquisition, and the new piratey Assassins Creed 4. Normally I don't mind a lot because that lets me watch my tv all evening, but sometimes I do wish we didn't lose entire evenings.

  • If my FI had a 4000 piece Lego set then I'd be right by his side at the coffee table every minute until it was done!

Love me some Lego. Thanks for the great gift idea :)
  • Call of Duty.  Though he seems to go through phases.  He's off right now, so I'm happy.  He'll get back into it for a month or two and then lose interest again until the new version comes out.  He did try to teach me once but I sucked.
This is me too! Though my FI alternates Call of Duty and Madden 2015. Now that football season is almost over, and he's getting tired of COD, I'll probably get him back for a few months (or at least until the next Call of Duty and Madden come out)...

He tried to teach me to play COD, but I just panic and mash the buttons. And I find it very stressful. The only game I'm okay at on XBox is Street Fighter, and that's only because you CAN mash the buttons and get good results :)

  • High school rowing, ugh!  They have a Spring and a Fall season, smh.

  • Clash of Clans or whatever that is called. I always call it clan of the cave bears bc I forget the name often

I can only imagine....   My fiance was a HS football coach for 5 years; he quit about 3 months before I met him.  He said I'd never see him from June - late October unless it was on a Sunday if he'd kept at it.  So now he works as a pharmacy tech 40 miles from home in a shitty retail environment and I rarely see him anyway.  Ha ha!
  • I'm a saltwater aquarium widow. DH just got a much larger aquarium - he's out in the garage cleaning it with vinegar and restraining the wood stand and testing the tank for leaks.. And it's cold outside. I will sit in front of the fireplace and snuggle with my puppy dog.

This part is what I loved. That sounds like an absolute blast.

Oh no!  That's like having a high maintenance mistress!!  And I have a high maintenance fancy goldfish aquarium at my parent's house. . . but salt water is even worse.

Gorgeous and can be fun, but suuuuuuper temperamental and suuuuuuuuper $$$ when those bastards die because your salinity was off by 0.01 or something.

DH used to want one until he became friends with someone who had several salt water tanks, and frequently had to go home from work to place the fish in his back up tanks because he got an alert on his phone that the main tanks chemistry was getting fucked ><

  • And now he's playing a very operatic version of Rule Britannia while raising and lowering the bridge. LMAO, he seriously cracKS me up.
  • V gets really into building things. At the moment its building toys, cages, and other things for our pet mice Norah and Ruby. I don't mind at all and find it cute he cares so much about their happiness. I also get to watch all my girl shows and stuff without interruotion!

It is actually a DVD (or CD) cabinet, but yes, we love it because it reminds us of the "old school" card catalogues.  It was my fiance's and his parents bought it for him a few years ago; not sure where they got it or ordered it from but if you google CD or DVD library I'll bet you can find something similar.

  • @HeatherKat‌, here is a pic of one I found in a catalog today. The photo is oak but you can order it in cherry like ours. Catalog is called Signals.
