Wedding Invitations & Paper

How do I address Save the dates?

I'm going to be sending out my save the dates within the next week. Do I need to address them formally as I would with my invitations or do I just address them informally? Also, so I need to include all names of those invited? In other words do I need to put John Smith and Jane Doe if it's a couple or can I just address it to Mr. John Smith and then include the guest on the formal invite?

  • STDs can be addressed informally. You don't have to include +1s on them either, it's fine to do that on just the invites.

    Thank You!
  • I tried to do mine mostly "correctly," but I have a few cousins who flip out if their kids aren't invited, so I noted the child's name (because it was a single child and mother is single) on one, and "and family"-ed the others.

  • I would put both names on the STDs, when the person you're inviting has an S/O. If the invitee is single, just put his/her name on the STD, no need to write 'and guest.'
