I just love Ashley's constant attempts to show Chris that she's a good girl/marriage material/virgin princess when all she does is bitch about the other girls and make sure her eyelashes are properly applied. Kelsey is sketchy too and I'm dying to see what happened... also what was up with Chris getting emotional during the rose ceremony? I think next week will be good. FI is totally hooked and announced he's going to make sure we have plenty of wine for next week's ep.
I was thinking maybe he got emotional because he wanted to send Kelsey home. But then, why bring up the story? I don't know. That confused me.
I thought maybe he was just exhausted after having chocolate smeared all over his face, bug-eyebrows breathing into his mouth, creepy sex guru telling him to hum, Ashley bitching and crying non-stop, Kelsey throwing her overly-rehearsed eerily theatrically-delivered story onto him, Jordan stalker-style appearing at his hotel, every other girl bitching and whining that Jordan appeared at the hotel, and the usual desperate pleas for attention being piled on him from every which way.

Sometimes when I'm exhausted, I cry.

I would vote for a combination of the 2. I'm guessing Kelsey was on the money when she thought she was going home, and he probably DID want to send her home but didn't want to look heartless, so maybe he was upset about being manipulated and sad that he had to send someone else home instead? And after those couple of days I would have been done too. Being pushed outside of his comfort zone and trying to navigate all the crazy at the group date and then everything Kelsey dumped on him...I would have just needed a day to be left alone after all of that!

  • That was my first thought too- that he wanted to eliminate her but then felt like he couldn't. Hmmm.

Also, this Samantha girl is seriously SO pretty it almost hurts to look at her haha! I wonder why she gets no screen time. It must suck to feel like you have to be over the top obnoxious like all the other loud "I'm an aspiring actress from LA" girls just to get some attention. I feel like I would never speak or anything if I was on that show.

Kelsey comes off as a psychopath to me. (I am not licensed to say so but fuck it - she's psycho) if her story is true, it makes me wonder exactly how her H died if you know what I mean.

I don't think he was attracted to Carly at all. He said something like "inside she is the perfect wife" and he was just really not feeling her. She won't stay.

I do not know how you guys can stand Whitney's voice. I would NOT be able to listen to that for the rest of my life. Holy crap.

I don't have a front runner. Kaitlyn bugs me. She's just really obnoxious IMO. Britt is too fake. I like Jade the best, I guess. And what's up with that one girl where we have seen her say 2 words the entire show?
YES to the bolded, I can't even judge her as a person because he voice is SO FREAKING ANNOYING.

I also agree with whoever said Samantha is amazingly gorgeous and how is she not getting more screen time?  She's seriously stunning.

This is the first season of the Bachelor I've ever watched so I can't say how it compares to others, but wow they hit the jackpot with the BSCBs this time around.

I like Kaitlyn and I think she'll make it to the final three... other than that, I don't know.
  • Ok, I had to bump this post. What drama!

Kelsey is a big fat faker. "I better get a rose for this." Ugh. What an awful person. Ashley acted how I expected her to. But she brought up a good point about Britt. Looks like some shit goes down with all that next week when he actually takes them to Iowa (good plan - they should really see where he lives).
  • lol I'm glad you brought this thread back.

I was so super excited that Ashley and Kelsey both got the boot. 2 annoying awful birds with one stone. When Ashley talked a bunch of smack, then got found out, then couldn't own up to it, then ran away and cried, then ran to Chris and cried, then drilled him about what he said and why he said it and what Kelsey's response was, then ran away from Chris crying, then ran back to him, then ran away again, I was cracking up. It was like watching an 8 yr old girl on the playground except this woman is like my age I think. Holy maladjusted, Batman!

She was the cry-iest, whiniest person EVER and I couldn't stand the sound of her whining anymore. I was so glad Chris got a huge dose of that lol.

And yeah, I've been wondering all along how Britt thinks she could live her life on a farm in the middle of nowhere and be happy, cuz she doesn't strike me as that type at all. And I thought it was a dick move for Chris to run off with her and take her on stage at a concert while all the other girls on the date sat there alone. Dick. Move. Then he knew they were pissed and he couldn't handle the tension so he was just like "Well goodnight!" and took off. Smooth.

But why no rose ceremony at the end again?! Ugh.

  • I've wanted to talk about this all morning but was busy!

I felt bad for Samantha, she got absolutely no screen time until the episode where she was sent home, I'm guessing she wasn't giving the producers anything catty or over the top, so they never had anything to show for her.

Chris basically ran into a wall of awkward at full steam after that Big and Rich show. Wow. It's one thing when they give someone the rose on a group date and THEN get to spend additional time together, but for him to take Britt and leave the other girls just sitting there for an hour wondering what was going on? Not cool, and I couldn't blame them for being pissed off. His attempt to smoothing things over was so painful to watch!

I read spoilers and knew who was going on the 2 on 1 and could not wait. Hilarious. Watching Ashley run around sobbing and yelling at Chris was like watching a high school cafeteria. Kesley had a major serial killer look going on...so smooth and composed but like she wanted nothing more than to just throttle Ashley. I feel like she belong on a soap opera, with her dramatics and big wordy speeches and crazy laugh. Good riddance. But I'm sad that the drama-makers are gone.

  • I have never seen anyone sob as much as Kardashly on TV. It was truly epic. And god I did not like her, but I cheered when she said "You think BRITT does?" Point. Taken.

As far as Kelsey, she's definitely crazy, but the edit certainly helped her along. All of those evil little smiles, they could have been shot at ANY point, pre or post melt down, so I didn't 100% buy the characterization whole-hog.

Annnnnnnnnd then there was the preview for her interview next week and I was like...oh well she is delusional after all.

The one thing I did notice was the Britt seems super buddy-buddy with Kelsey-she's always cuddled up with her, leaning on her, after the rose ceremony she was hanging all over her. Whereas everyone else was sitting as far away from her as possible. So I feel like that just adds to the Britt is two-faced thing for me.

  • Yes! It was so messed up how he took Britt to the concert and left them all sitting there for an hour. And then peaced out when it was all weird.

Ashley running around back and forth had me laughing.

And I thought the same thing about Britt being all friendly with Kelsey.

Ugh, almost all the girls this season are just AWFUL attention-whores! And the quiet normal ones (AKA Samantha- I'm assuming she's normal bc she got no screen time) get pushed to the side.

The only girls I actually like and who seem genuine are Whitney, Becca and Carly. Everyone else is so phony, competitive and attention-whorey I just can't. BUT it does make for good TV; SO and I were hollering at the screen during that 2 on 1, how freaking painful! (It's actually kind of cute- he has a couple of other friends whose girlfriends "make" them watch the show so they were texting back and forth talking about the show last night, haha!)

I just can't get over Ashley and her scary lashes, I was impressed they stayed together while she was bawling her eyes out.

Have to admit, though I want to continue liking Chris, WTF was he thinking running off with Britt to the concert during the group date? Totally inappropriate IMO- save that for the one on one! Also, ugh Britt is so phony can she leave already and go back to LA.

I was watching those lashes very closely, waiting for them to start falling off during her huge crying fit lol. And when she was really full-steam into it, FI looked at the tv and said "is that girl laughing? She's going nuts!" and I said "Nope, she's crying!" and then he started laughing.

  • Would you rather Bachelor edition: Ashley S as your hairstylist or Kelsey as your guidance counselor?

Lmao! There's no way Kelsey should be guiding any minds.

    Kardashly made me LOL.

I am jumping into this thread.  I love/hate the bachelor on so many levels.

Ashley I was so annoying-- I love that she cries to Chris and then brings up Britt when she knew she was going home.  There was no way in hell Ashley would have EVER moved to Iowa.  I was secretly hoping Chris was going to push her off that mountain.

Kelsey was crazy.  I laughed when Chris told her he sent Ashley home and she hugged him and said "what a loss, I am so sorry" LOL...and then she gets sent home too.  I had high hopes for her at the beginning.  What a whack job.  I wonder what happened when Ashley and Kelsey realized they were both left there!?

My favorite part of the night was when the girls realized both Ashley and Kelsey were sent home and they popped the champagne--classic.

I had no idea who Samantha was until the rose ceremony?

Whitney's voice absolutely bugs the hell out of me, but she is growing on me.

I like Becca too and have a feeling she goes far... she's like a Catherine.  Didn't get much air time at first but then was there at the end.

Kaitlyn is cute, but I don't see her with Chris.

Britt is annoying.  Homegirl needs to take a shower, and I do not see her in Iowa at all.  Ashley got one thing right on this show.  I think she has a mini melt down next week. I wouldn't be surprised if she leaves in hopes to be the next bachelorette.

Carly is cute, I like her.

So far I have not read reality steve so I am trying not to spoil it, but we will see how long I can hold out.  Since the drama is gone I may let it play out.  I do think top 4 will be Britt, Kaitlyn, Whitney and I'm torn between Carly and Becca as #4.

1st bolded, I was laughing so hard when Chris walked off to the helicopter and took off, leaving Ashley and Kelsey alone. I was like "omg he's leaving them out in the desert! How are they gonna get home?! How awkward to be left sitting the middle of nowhere!" So many funny aspects to that.

2nd bolded, I was cracking up at that, too. That was the best!

  • Yes, I was totally dying when Kelsey was all, "It's a loss." and then hugged him.
  • So did anyone watch the interview with Kelsey last night? It was kind of weird. And kind of boring. And also Britt's meltdown was just a bit too much.
    image
  • I completely forgot it was on last night. I was watching the SNL Special.
  • I completely forgot it was on last night. I was watching the SNL Special.
Yeah I don't love the "2-night events." 75% of what they show is just fluff anyway, so there's no need to stretch it out. AND the thing last night was 3 hours long!!! It was an hour of interviews and then a 2-hour episode. I got sucked in and ended up watching all of it but now I'm super tired today because it made me end up going to bed way later than normal. Damn Bachelor.

Based on the previews though, there's 1 spot left for home-town dates, and the three girls that are in question are Britt, Witney, and Carly. I feel like Carly is gonna go, which sucks cuz I like her, but I don't know if he'll end up choosing Britt or Witney at this point thanks to Britt going off the deep end.

Not a whole lot happened last night. There was a rose ceremony but then he cancelled it and decided to keep them all for another week. So I think tonight's episode starts with the rose ceremony and then hometown dates. I think.

    Ok cool.
  • I wonder why they didn't do any international trips?  They usually do a world tour of exotic locations.  They've stuck to the US so far.

  • Yeah, I think Carly gets the other hometown spot. I really like Becca, but I haven't seen the same connection with her as with some of the other. Kind of surprised she got a hometown.

What did yall think of Andi's interview? I normally don't care what happens to them, but she was my favorite and an LSU alum, so I felt kind of bad for her.
  • They interviewed Andi too?
  • Yeah, about her break-up with Josh. Chris Harrison dragged the Barbra Walters thing on a little too long though and it was getting ridiculous. Andi was snotting up so bad from all of the crying, like geesh, get the poor girl a tissue if you're gonna do an emotional autopsy of her relationship on television.
  • Yikes. Was the crying real? Or did it seem like a fake cry?

The production claims it's because it fits Chris's "story", that he's a hometown boy, he needs someone down-to-earth, and exotic locations just don't fit him/his lifestyle. I suspect it's because they got offered the the trade-outs for Santa Fe, Deadwood, etc and weren't thrilled with the international offers. And it's so much of a PITA to shoot internationally, that they decided to save the money this year, and see if it affected ratings.

There's also been some rumors that because Chris has some DUIs on his record he can't get visas to certain countries, but I find that hard to believe.

I haven't gotten to watch last night's show yet, I've only seen the interview with Kelsey so far. 5 hours of Bachelor is a lot to get through in a week yeesh.

  • I think it was authentic. She seemed to really consider him to be "the guy" and seemed genuinely heartbroken. It didn't give viewers much insight as to what happened (which is totally fine....it's none of our damn business anyways). Just seemed pointless to have the interview at all. A pull for ratings, I'm sure.
