Show me your mermaid Bustle

Looking at options for what I want for my bustle. I have a lace mermaid style (Mori Lee 2605) absolutely LOVE my dress! now i just need the perfect bustle. I have a gorgeous scalloped hemline that i do not want to hide. Most bustles I'm seeing for mermaid style gowns are the under bustle, YUCK! (sorry, if that's what you went with, don't mean to offend, just not my taste) I want something different than that for sure! But photos are hard to come by on the internet, hopefully this will work!

So who out there wants to share a picture of your mermaid bustle???

No bustle ideas, but what a pretty dress!!

Here's mine on Allure 9117. I THINK it was a 6-point American bustle. (Sorry if it's sideways) Kept all the detailing at the bottom, and no super dramatic folds since there were so many gathering points, versus just a few, if that makes sense.

I can't find any good pictures of the back of my dress, after it was bustled.   I have no idea what different bustle types are called, but here is a pic of mine.  I had probably at least 20 buttons on it.

Your gown is beautiful! I also wore a Mori Lee lace gown. Here is a picture of my bustle, but I have no idea what it was called.

Not sure what it will like when it's finished, but this is how my seamstress pinned my bustle at my fitting. She said it was an English bustle.

Talk to your seamstress....she will be able to tell you your options and pin it up to show you what it would look like.  I researched all kinds of bustles, went in and told her what I wanted and she basically came back and told me it wasn't possible with my dress!  I really only had one option (which turned out beautiful in the end!)

My seamstress said the lace designs in the overlay "told her how it wanted to be bustled". It ended up being a 5 point bustle. She did what she thought would look best.

ETA: the overlay lace was button on top (american) and the under satin poofy tulle was down under as French.

I think a french bustle would be very pretty with your dress.  Or if you really want to show off all the lace then do a french bustle on the under layers and then a simple 1 or 3 point american bustle on the lace overlay.
