Thursday Confessions

I'm stocking up on all my expensive personal care products before FI and I combine finances, because I know he's going to judge me when he finds out how much they cost.

I won't be very disappointed if FSIL doesn't come to our wedding. (I will, however, be irritated about having to re-print the programs)

I got nothing done at work today, but I did finally pick out a wedding gift for FI.

Today there were bottles of beer out on the "free food" table in the break room with a sign that said take one. I took two.

Glad I got all that off my chest. What are your confessions this week?

Re: Thursday Confessions

  • I cheat on HabitRPG. I just check my boxes even if I didn't exercise that day. Because I didn't. I just want to level up and find pets.

  • I ran out to Target today without brushing my hair. It was a quick run and my hair was in a ponytail but I was really grubby (I worked from home today).

  • I went to Lululemon to buy Fi this backpack he's wanted forever because he's having a shitty week at work.  I walked out with his backpack and a new beach bag for myself.  Oops.

Fi and I are taking ballroom dance lessons and I'm thinking of chickening out and not doing the dance at the reception.  I don't know if I can handle doing an actual dance while everybody's staring at us.  Also, I think Fi looks kind of awkward while trying to ballroom dance but I don't know how to tell him that.

"I'm not a rude bitch.  I'm ten rude bitches in a large coat."

  • I was supposed to get up right after FI left for work this morning and workout. But I totally reset my alarm the moment he was out the door and slept for another hour.

  • My confessions are that I had to cancel my debit card because I lost it. I didn't even get to use it yet..Sometimes being an adult is hard ha. I haven't done much that is confession worthy. I have one though! I think I've spent a stupid amount of time picking out hair styles for my appointment. I could have been more productive. But this is an important decision!

Yep...I've learned the hard way that one should never, ever choose a hair style without careful deliberation.

I have an appointment booked for chopping off my hair post wedding. I've been growing it out for the wedding and wanted to donate it afterwards. My wedding is in 5 months and I'm already starting to debate shorter hairstyles. Its an important decision!!!

  • My work laptop crashed and burned, and I think I saved all of my personal stuff a few weeks ago, so my confession is that I'm sort of milking it not getting anything done until I get a new one.

Also I'm using it as an excuse to skip going to my sister's (2 hrs away) for Easter this weekend.

  • When I went to the cafeteria to get lunch, just as I walked in a bunch of high school kids on a tour of the college, like 20+ of them, got in line before I could technically get there. I sneaked in front of them because I was not too interested in waiting behind 20+ indecisive kids when I knew exactly what I wanted.

I'm thinking about it too. Like, I'm sure I want to chop it, but not sure whether to do it before we leave on the HM or wait till we get back.

  • I'll confess that I have no idea what's happening. FMIL and I have been emailing back and forth about wedding thoughts, and I realized that I really, really want to make my own cake(s). Like. I know it is madness. I am not a professional baker. I'm hardly even an amateur baker. But I still want to do it.

Talk me off the ledge. I want to make three 9" rounds and a half-sheet shaped like an ice rink. TALK ME OFF THE LEDGE.

It worked out for me that I didn't really have any choice of the 'when'

I want my hometown stylist to do it because she's been cutting my hair for 10 years and she's the only one I trust. We leave the Monday after the wedding for the honeymoon, get back the following Monday, have Tuesday to recoup and then Wednesday we drive back north to where we live. So.... That Tuesday is pretty much my only option. So that really helped with the 'when am i going to do this!!!'

Now I just have to decide how short. The required amount to donate is a minimum of 8" and that would bring me just above my shoulders. So, do the minimum or go more! 5 months to decide!

Would doing it while handing him Yankees tickets make it easier? I can arrange for that. Or I can just tell him, I would totally be the bad guy for you.

We have three more lessons so I'm trying to hold out a little hope.  It's hard to tell whether everybody is this bad early on in the process or if we are special.  I also just really am uncomfortable with doing something that feels showy to me, even though the actual dance is pretty simple.

I will let you know if I need to call in backup.

I think most people don't look super graceful dancing. I danced for YEARS, and I still think DH and I looked terrible at our wedding. Remind me to show you the video one day. Those 60 seconds felt like 60 years!

  • Someone left their receipt in the parking garage thing when I was leaving a meeting downtown. I get reimbursed for my parking for work. Their receipt was $20; mine was only $9. I thought about submitting theirs on my expense report.

I ended up chickening out though, because theirs was time-stamped as arriving at 7am. Ain't no way I would have gotten there that early, and if I did I wouldn't have come from the office, from whence my mileage would also be reimbursable, and I'll get paid more than $11 in mileage. They probably wouldn't have noticed anyway.

  • I just washed my hair for the first time since Monday morning. Although I did have emergency surgery, so I am cutting myself a break.

I am also telling everyone at work that I had appendicitis because I can't deal with them knowing the truth and I def can't be away for an entire week without SOME story.

I've always wanted to donate but I put too many chemicals in my hair, plus my hair hasn't been long enough in years! I think the last time it was at my shoulders was 3-4 years ago.

  • I went to See's yesterday and splurged on Easter candy for the baskets.

I will go again tomorrow, and replace the ones I ate today.  (All the dark chocolate raspberry truffles.)

H and I are planning to move across country this summer. I really like the owner of my company and his wife (who retired a year or two ago) but their son is the biggest dick ever and he's more and more involved. I told owner and wife that I would let them know well in advance when we move. I'm planning to give my two weeks shortly after another girl gives her two weeks to really fuck them.

Also I have had the same hairstyle for at least fifteen years. I had chin-length hair in first grade and promised myself I'd never have hair that short again. It's been long with angled layers in the front ever since. I'm terrified to do anything different. I'm starting to find grays and even the thought of dying my hair gives me anxiety.

  • I watched the "Undercover Boss" with Alfred Angelo tonight. And some of the stuff made me tear up. I mean, I know it's all PR for the company, but the people they had on the show were great. The company ended up doing some super nice stuff for them.

I have, never dyed my hair. Ever. And it grows like a weed so I usually have it long for a year then cut it shoulder length and start again. I've never let it grow quite long enough to donate so I'm excited to finally be able to take advantage of my 'Virgin hair'

My dress for the upcoming wedding I'm in just came in the mail.  It's even ickier than the pattern picture was.

I feel like I look like a line backer in it. It has short sleeves but they're actually really big short sleeves.  And it has a really high neck-line - almost t-shirt high.

Oh well, I knew I wouldn't like it when she first showed me what she was thinking of.  Whatever I guess.

That's my confession - I hate the dress but of course the bride will never find out.

I've dyed my hair so much I don't even know my natural hair color anymore ha. I think it's brown with some reddish undertones but that's mainly a guess. My hair grows long too! I just got my hair cut in February and I cut it to my chin. It's already near my shoulders. My hair is way to thick to be long, I would die from a heat stroke. You should post pictures when you get it done!
