  • I am literally a cranky baby.

And I'm a hot mess, but you guys already knew that.

  • Our travel agent mentioned it when booking our cruise. We got a fancy dessert and the staff sang a happy HM song. When we were checking in to our hotel in Amsterdam we were asked what brought us there. DH said we were on our HM and we got free tickets for a canel cruise. DH booked dinner at this really fancy restaurant one night. It seemed to be the place everybody went to celebrate. We were asked when we got there if we were celebrating anything and got a free dessert.

My apologies! I woke up too early today. You are 100000% correct, and I edited to fix

  • We asked politely when checking in for flight...originally they had us separately seated. We got upgraded to a front row together. Casual mentioned in dc at a favorite chain restaurant of dh's that we were on hm...got free dessert and coupon cards for future visits. Mentioned to hotel matrie d at breakfast why we were there...that afternoon we were in our room and they sent up a lovely bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries compliments of the hotel.

Only time we asked for help and mentioned honeymoon was with the flight up. Otherwise people did this out of kindness. be polite when mentioning and graciously accept/do not throw a fit for failing to get what you want and it should be smooth sailing
  • 1) The hotel we stayed at for our wedding upgraded us for free. We were asking them if they anticipated rooms being available for early check in for our family because we needed getting-ready space for our wedding. Upon hearing that, the guy gave us a suite, which helped greatly!

    2) I like what ohannabelle said about airline upgrades. As DH works for the airlines, I'm shocked that anyone would get a random upgrade just for it being their honeymoon. There is a hierarchy of preferred customers that should get an upgrade, thanks to their loyalty, before a random couple who just happens to be going on their honeymoon.  If the plane is going to depart with open seats, especially open seats in the spaces with extra legroom, only then I could see the gate agent changing a couple's seats. But, the popular honeymoon destinations, like let's say Hawaii or something? Those planes aren't really going out with open seats in the first place. And first class, forget it.
When we checked in to our flight, we asked what it would cost us to upgrade, and unfortunately we couldn't afford it. Oh well!

    3) I paid for a room with a view for our honeymoon, and we got a super nice room with not only a room, but a terrace. I don't know if that was luck of the draw, because I don't remember mentioning in person or in a comment box that we were on our honeymoon. But I do think it was just luck.
