@twodimes I love my mixer

I found most of my recipes on pinterest I can't access from work.  I made home made dough ( for pizza) I just made some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies last week, I've made brownies, frostings(marshmallow frostings) and I think I used it to mix up some muffins as well.

The recipe for peanut butter chocolate chip cookie were so good 1 cup of sugar, peanut butter, & chocolate chips, 1 egg mixed in the mixer.  Then measure out balls of about 1 tablespoon and flatten into cookies on an oven tray.  Cook for 10-12 minutes at 350

@speakeasy14 - I do have a linkedin account. I haven't found it too helpful in the job search though. Maybe I'm just not using it right though.

ETA: @lavenderfields13 - Management sucks at this company too. I've only been here a few months and I can already see so much dysfunction at this company.

@Swazzle BE EXCITED! This is going to be an amazing trip! I'm so excited for you! I highly doubt you'll look back one day and be like, "Man, I really wish we had put the money for that trip into savings instead of going and hanging out with all the awesome animals." YOLO! :-P

@southernpeach89 Yeah GoT! That episode was so good! Also, my friend and coworker both recently had babies, and they each complained about how competitive day cares are. They both had to start looking in the 4th month of their pregnancy, and I think one had to get on a waiting list. HOW CAN THEIR BE A WAITING LIST FOR FETUSES? It's so crazy! I hope you guys are able to enroll Baby Peach in a great day care with no issues.

@CocoBellaF Aw, you guys are going to have so much fun on your trips! I've never been to ABQ, but I went to Seattle last spring. It's BEAUTIFUL! You guys will have the time of your lives. I recommend the Underground Tour-- it's really cool and  a little creepy. Also, if you're able to, you could take the train down one day to Portland. They've got a huge rose garden that will be in full bloom in the summer. That whole area is such a stunning part of the country. 

@lmcooper86 Oh wow, RSVP deadline! Your wedding is so close! Do you have a lot of stragglers to track down?

@TwoDimes Oh my god your FMIL... wow. At this point you should just try and turn her antics into a drinking game or something. Also, that rooftop bar sounds like an awesome after party! 

@caseface5 LOVE that quilt! I've been watching @audrewuh make a t-shirt quilt for one of her friends, and it's really cool to see how it's made. T-shirt quilts are so cool.

@KeptinStitches Aw, I'm sorry your mom is encouraging people to leave early. Your wedding will kick ass! 

@speakeasy14 My mom was the same way after having her gallbladder removed. Hers was no where near as bad as your mom's, but even she was hurting after trying to do basic things. Moms can be so stubborn! It sounds like she's doing a lot better, and hopefully she'll be back to normal soon.

@LaBro DED at Maddux bruising your boob! I LOLed. I can't wait to see what your yard looks like in a few months once everything has a chance to grow. It's going to be GORGEOUS!

Moods: Accomplished, relieved, slightly stressed, and anti-social

This weekend was SO PRODUCTIVE! We went cake tasting on Saturday and booked a baker. Their cakes were NOMS. For the bottom tier, we're doing a white cake with a mixed berry filling. The middle tier will be strawberry cake with strawberry creme filling, and the top tier will be lemon cake with a hummingbird filling. The lemon cake was so good. My FMIL loved it, and she said she doesn't normally like lemon. Mmm so good. 

We also selected a menu for the reception this weekend. We're doing BBQ (sausage, chicken, and brisket) with mac n cheese, baked beans, mixed veggies, and a garden salad for the sides. I tried to offer options for vegetarians and healthy eaters, so I'm pretty happy with where we landed. 

I also made a Wedding Calendar on Google, and I updated it with all of our payment deadlines, events, and meetings. I feel so organized! 

I also saw that Disney World will start their Christmas party while we're there in November, so I got tickets to the opening night for that. They stay open later, have extra parades and fireworks, and give out free cookies and hot cocoa. SO EXCITED!

I'm really relieved that we've got so much done for the wedding. I think I can comfortably take a break from wedding planning until the summer. I'm ready to think about non-wedding things for a while.

I'm stressed because I have a TON of stuff to do at work before I leave for a conference tomorrow. I worked for 6 hours yesterday, and I'll likely work late tonight. Luckily I managed to do all of our laundry yesterday, so packing will be easy when I get home. 

I'm also feeling anti-social because of all the stuff I need to get done today. One of my co-workers keeps coming in my office to chat about random things, and in my head I'm like, "LEAVE ME ALOOOOOONE!" I'll probably shut my office door in a minute so I can concentrate. 

I'm exhausted because I didn't sleep well. Around 4am a loud burst of thunder woke me up, and then starting around 5:30 my stomach started waking me up every 30 minutes. My body was not very happy with my eating this weekend. :-\ Luckily it's settled down, but I've got to be careful about my eating from now on. 

All right, time to tackle my giant to-do list. Hope you all have a great Monday!

@lavenderfields13 It's hard for me too. I think I got about halfway through last time. But I ran a 5k. By ran I mean ran/walked and finished in 45 mins. I am registered for the Color Run in Aug so I want to actually train and do better. We shall see.

@eilis1228 Everything sounds so noms!!! What is hummingbird filling? Is it basically like the icing that goes on a hummingbird cake? Please describe more food!

@eilis1228 - The last time I went to Disneyworld they were doing their Halloween party. It was so much fun to stay at the park later for that. And also, your cake and reception food all sound very yummy!

@labro It's similar to the icing in the sense that it has a lot of citrus, but it was pink and had a gel-like texture. It was a mix of berries and citrus, so I think it's more of a nod to hummingbird food instead of hummingbird cake. It was soooo good!

@bethsmiles The Halloween party looks like so much fun! I was kind of hoping we'd be able to catch the end of the Halloween party and the beginning of the Christmas party, but we will miss the last Halloween party by a few days. Sadness.

@TwoDimes Thanks! It's not super fancy, but I think it will all taste really good. I foresee the Google calendar being extremely helpful. All of our final payments are due throughout September and October, and I realized over the weekend I could not keep it all straight in my head. I'm glad a wedding calendar has helped you! Great minds think alike

@eilis1228 Thanks! I just called them and everything looks good to go, I just need to pay a $150 registration fee. It astounds me too. I know some places are way more competitive than others...like you are automatically on a waiting list no matter how early you book. It's ridiculous.

eilis1228 They gave her vicodin which she stopped taking Friday evening because it kept making her sick. Yesterday she said the pain wasn't as bad, except for the gas bubbles.  -- All of your food sounds delicious, but I am drooling over your cake.

My Monday mood is sleepy, content, with a touch of nervous energy.

So Friday night I worked overnight, and it was absolutely bananas. I was so excited to get home and sleep during the day Saturday! I apparently really needed it too, because I slept from 9 AM until almost 5 (usually I get up around 2 or 3 if I work overnight.) That evening I unpacked and organized some more, and then went to see my mom and some former co-workers. They attempted to help me study for this test I have to take at work before I can come off of orientation. The problem is...no one remembered how to do the problems. LOL. So this week should be interesting with that coming my way...

On Sunday M and I went on the most awesome hike! It was PERFECT weather outside, and we had a great time walking and doing a little bit of rock climbing. We got dinner afterward at a super yummy Mexican place, and then we just hung out at home. He's getting ready to go to Japan for about two weeks, so I'm glad we had an awesome day together before he leaves.

Today I did some grocery shopping and other errands, AND I'm super excited because I HAVE A COUCH. My living room is no longer completely barren, lol. So at this point I need to find some coffee tables, a bookshelf, and a desk, and then I can start actually decorating a little bit at a time. I never thought I would get so excited about all this domestic stuff! And now I need to get some sleep for a bit because I work the next two nights.

@labro, she did suckle when she was a babycat (8 weeks old) and I first got her. Typically she chose either FI's or my fingers. Cutest thing ever.

@CLoGreenEyes - Yay for a couch! I went 2 years without a couch in grad school and then my friend ended up giving me one she had been keeping in storage. It's nice to have furniture! I still need pretty much everything you listed needing as well though. I'm saving up bit by bit so I can slowly buy new furniture that I need. I'm buying a coffee table with part of my tax return and I'm so excited about it

@bethsmiles, yay for getting a coffee table! Your self-control with saving up for good furniture is super admirable; I have such a hard time with that. So far I haven't made any crazy impulse purchases, but it's very tempting. Just have to remember that I don't NEED this stuff right away, even if it would be nice.
