Opening Gifts

My own wedding will be the first I've attended in years, but I have never, ever heard of opening gifts at the reception. Frankly, I can't imagine anything more boring than watching someone open gifts for 4-5 hours (which is as long as it would probably take) when I could be dancing, catching up with friends, etc. Don't do it!

I'm so glad everyone agrees with this, and I'm a little late to the game, but I have actually been to a wedding where they did this. It was a very small backyard wedding with family only, except for myself and the best man, but it still was waaayyy awkward, and I wish they hadn't (at the bride's insistence).
