Re: NWR- we're getting a house!

  • @sarahufl there is now a Chipotle by trader joes. That brings it up to 3 in this town. Oh and the old Albertsons is now a planet fitness and masa moved in to the old on the border....Dh misses enchiladas from otb

We're probably going to leave the living room color alone. We like it. Bedroom is a rusty red. Dh is leaning towards a silver gray, but likes light purples too. This will be fun!

THERE IS A CHIPOTLE THERE NOW?! I grew up, like, 2 miles from that TJs. That shopping center used to suck. Believe it or not, Tallahassee has gotten downright fancy in the past 10 years.

Congrats!  How cute, I love geese and I don't get scared being around them personally.  Just don't get too close and watch them for signs of them getting freaked out.

This is in Tampa, right? Good grief, I should never have left North Florida. It shames me a tad to admit out loud how much my house cost.

But yay for a good update!

Technically it's riverview, closer to Brandon, but very close to the expressway that drops me at my office in 20 mins.

Dh and I are currently "fighting" over paint swatches.
Just paint everything Benjamin Moore "Revere Pewter". It's the best neutral ever.

Although I just did Glidden "Alligator Pear" (a deep mossy green) in our dining room with some gloss white beadboard wainscoting and I am LOVING IT.
Heh, Revere Pewter is what we paint 75% of the flip houses I work on.  That or Repose Gray from Sherwin Williams (it's less greige and more actual grey)

  • Re: painting - My big tip is to make sure you paint an entire wall (or a really decent portion of it) before you decide yay/nay.  I got a paint sample, painted a small swatch, hated it (I thought it looked like wet cement!) and went back to Benjamin Moore.  The guy asked if I painted the entire wall and I said of course not!  He told me to go back and do it first before selecting more samples.  I took his advice, and I loved it!  Our whole house is pretty much painted in the same color - Shaker Beige.

And make sure to cover the test patches with primer before painting over them - NOT paint + primer.  I have noticeable texture differences where the test patches were in the places I did not primer the walls.
