ETA: If people are really getting offended by people's sigs (and I mean really? come on, just get off the internet then) they can turn them off so their precious little selves aren't offended by the meanness and strong language.

THANK GOD the admins are taking the time to handle bullshit like sig gifs! Meanwhile I can't seem to stay fucking logged in to save my life. But woot woot, sig gifs are being handled.

So the TOS contridicts itself.

First part of the TOS reads: 

We know you are all adults, and no, we’re not going to ban you for using profanity, sarcasm or sharing your opinion in conversation.

But then you go down a little further and it's this weird, the TOS is like agreeing to get married thing. And it reads:

• No strong, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise harmful language.

So what the fucking fuck TK? Can I fucking say fuck or fucking what? Am I gonna have to clean up my fucking goddamn language? Fucking hell man.

Well. This is a fucking shit show, isn't it? I remember PMing KnotPorscha about the "strong language" TOS and she said don't worry, still allowed to curse. But.... apparently if you don't spend your time giving rainbow enemas, you can be banned for contributing to a "negative environment?" What a load of horse shit.

How about admins spend their time trying to actually fix the technical problems that have been going on for MONTHS in order to keep users here, rather than trying to artificially change the tone of the community?  I posted months ago on the Tech board that I'm constantly getting logged out of the mobile site.  There's not even an easy way to log back in anymore; it takes something like 5 clicks and reloading the page.  This is honestly causing me to use TK way less than I used to because I mostly Knot from mobile now with my new job.  And now the problem has started to spread over to the desktop site, where it's equally annoying but at least easier to log back in.

There are two reasons I would leave TK: first, if the technical issues persist, which is actually the job of the admins and is not getting done.  Second, if the admins start policing every little thing like elementary school hall monitors giving out warnings for potty mouths (or potty middle-fingers).  By definition, everybody on this site is old enough to make binding legal decisions about our lives.  I'm pretty sure we're all old enough to handle some blunt comments and GIFs.... and if anybody's offended by an animated middle finger aimed at nobody in particular, the internet is probably not somewhere they should be hanging out.

The only thing I can glean from this is that XO group seems to think that what happened to The Bump is actually a good thing. If they don't like having vocal, lively communities on their site, why have a community board at all? They obviously don't love having them. The Nest died long ago, The Bump ladies peaced out, and now they're getting pissy about a dancing middle finger?

Just do what you obviously want to do, and kill the boards. This warning for sig gifs/vague TOS bullshit seems like a lot of unnecessary work. Unless the knotgods get off on being ridiculous. That must be it.

I think that was the reason they got banned, but IIRC it wasn't actually part of the written TOS then (and certainly wasn't received as a good or positive way of going about business).
