This summer will be way more relaxing since we aren't moving, getting married, and starting new jobs.

We're going for a road trip back home, so from MN to OR, probably spend some time in Seattle. Haven't decided where else we'll stop but we'll probably be gone for a couple weeks. Gonna go to a high school reunion because why not.

I'd like to figure out how to can. I got a pressure canner for a wedding gift and haven't opened it yet.

I'd also like to decorate the house. There's a couple things I'd like to refinish and I'd like to do some other little things that would be doable in a rental.

Sell horse. Start studying for next semester. Lose weight. Get a clean bill of health before TTC. Blah blah boring stuff.

H's parents grow tons of vegetables-- like any kind you can possibly think of, which is awesome because they always give some to us!-- and then at the end of summer they can them. I'm not sure of the process but I do know it's kind of awesome to have that stuff in your pantry in the dead of winter. Especially canned tomatoes, cuz they're great for pasta sauce. I'm a fan.

This summer is when the wedding planning kicks into high-gear... it's dress fittings, the pre-parties, getting the invites together and out, putting together the ceremony, picking music, etc., etc.  All fun things!

We also want to take some time off and go away for a quick summer weekend- we're deciding between Block Island or camping in Acadia...

I think I might try rock climbing for the first time ever, too.  FI is a HUGE rock/ice climber and he's been asking me to try it forever, but I've been nervous...  I will ski, hike, snowmobile, ATV, you name it- I just don't like to be high off the ground.  Where's @Climbingwife  when you need her?  Tips, please!  :)
@soontobesyp I have a fear of heights, so my first time rock climbing I was pretty scared. But you have to learn to put your trust into the ropes and your guide. Once I got up there, I just focused on what my next move was. I honestly wasn't even thinking about how high I was off the ground. The first time rappelling down can be pretty tricky too. You have to lean back and then walk down the mountain. But again, once you realize that the rope is securing you, and that you're safe, it will go much easier.

ETA: Let me know if you have any more questions!
  • I have a few goals this summer:

-Get KU. We've been working on it for a while but we're hoping the newest specialist will be able to help.

-Finish our various house projects. We're good at getting 90% done with projects but not at finishing them-- we need to finish the edges between new tile and new hardwood floors, add the kickplates to new kitchen cabinets, etc.

-Get rid of my old house. I own a building with my sister. We're (finally) getting rid of it in August. I apparently still have a bit of crap in the basement. Empty that out and get rid of the dump!

-Learn how to make mole and a few other Mexican dishes from my MIL. We've known that she's terminal since just before the wedding but she's going through a phase where she's feeling better again. I need to learn how to make a few of the family favorites while she's healthy enough to show me.

Sadly, all of this needs to get fit around a ton of travel (some fun, some work) and too many hours on the job!
