Re: Passive Aggressive FMIL

  • They are guests invited to a wedding. The guests know the date, time, location. If they feelthey can't take the heat then don't come!

  • I will be honest, I skimmed the majority of the long comments but...TWO receptions? Why would you have two separate ones? Just have one, and if you have to make it longer to accommodate everyone, do that. Two seems greedy.

    Uh...no?

RSVPs are usually requested 2-4 weeks prior to a wedding date. How the hell are people supposed to know the weather that far out?

By the same logic, would you invite people to a park for a BBQ, then if it's raining, be like "sorry fuckers, you should have brought an umbrella!" No. As the host, it'd be your responsibility to have a plan B. Or you'd look like an asshole. I guess you would choose the latter....

    Good points, all around.

And while you can't possibly know if it's going to rain that far out, using common sense, you'd be able to deduce that it's probably going to be hot as fuck and humid in Arkansas. . . It's the South, FFS!

So the OP should probably plan to have this shindig indoors, right?!  It's not really all that probable that the temps are going to drop 20-30 degrees next week.

Forecast for this week is 90F and predicted thunderstorms every day.
