Re: Tuesday

  • @labro What a violent fruit to represent a baby lol!

@cu97tiger I LOVE it when people hang huge wreaths on their homes. I would say above the garage would look great or if they have a big window above their entrance?

  • @cu97tiger Is she thinking seasonal or not seasonal? If she wants something for year round, all she needs to do is start with a length of grapevine and tie the ends together to make a circle. She may or may not need to support it with some thinly wrapped wire around it. I have no idea where you could buy a giant pre-made wreath for cheap. They all cost hundreds of dollars for even smaller ones.

  • @Jenna8984 Maybe not? I thought it did, my cousin has one and I was under that impression, but maybe not? Haha oops!
    friends tv show funy
  • @labro YES! I would gain alll the weight lol and so would DH because he would be eating all the sweets too. Her starting size would definitely be a sprinkle and then maybe a chocolate chip lol.
  • @southernpeach89 a dessert comparison would be so much better!

@swazzle hopefully you find commuting by train easier and cheaper.

I woke up several times last night, and we had some thunderstorms as well.  My back is killing me I must have slept weird somehow.  I had a doctor's appointment and got to hear her heartbeat.  It was pretty quick and easy, except I was told I need to do another glucose tolerance test in the 3rd trimester. I wanted to cry.  I got into work late so now I need to stay at work late.

I love hearing about the Blue Apron meals everyone is making, between me being a vegetarian and H's pickiness it probably won't work.  After studying I'm considering just getting it for myself anyway.  :-)

  • @swazzle - I'm so glad your H liked the burgers! I mean, I've only done 2 weeks, but that one was my favorite so far. I'll also be making the catfish tonight! :) Also, I started watching PLL! I'm only on season 1, but the story line has me so hooked!

@untouchablets - That is so exciting that you're getting that training! I have a dream that once I get closer to retirement I will start a dog daycare. I would want to be a certified trainer before that, though. BF seems to be supportive of it too, which is awesome.

    -------------------------------------

I'm staying home sick today. My lady time is kiiiiiilling me. No biggie. I've got my green little friend helping me out, and this is why I'm on a pill that only makes this happen every 3 months. I was home yesterday too, and am almost through the first season of PLL now, haha. I think Hanna's my favorite character so far.

I'm hoping to head to Starbucks soon, but the only thing holding me back is not being able to decide what I'll order when I get there. Decisions, decisions.

  • @jenna8984 I would recommend either the Impreza or the Forester from Subaru. I've ridden in both, and they're both great cars. The AWD is amazing too.
@Swazzle Glad your H loved the lamb burgers! They sound so good! Also, I really hope your commuting experiment goes well!
@Southernpeach89 I hope the day care tour goes well! I know you guys are ready to get that figured out and behind you. I'm also LOLing at the Bump comparing her to a stinky, violent fruit.
@labro I love that dress! Super cute!
@speakeasy14 OMG poor Callie! I'm so glad she's OK!
@caseface5 I can't believe it's already time for back-to-school stuff. Wow. I feel like summer just started!
    @CocoBellaF Have with your ILs!
@minskat30 I don't blame you for staying home with Raj while there are strangers in the house. I definitely would not be comfortable leaving them alone in the house. I hope all of your housing woes are fixed ASAP!
    -----------------------

Hi, everyone! This will be a P&R unfortunately. I've got another 30 emails to trudge through before I can actually tackle my to-do list.  Also, sorry for the novel.

I stayed home sick yesterday... wine is not my friend.

This weekend was very VERY busy, and I'm definitely feeling all of the bad side effects of that today. On Friday we went to dinner with some friends and grabbed ice cream afterwards at my favorite ice cream parlor. FI and I went home and went to bed early-ish after that because we had to be up bright and early the next morning for a venue meeting. The meeting went well, I guess. The morning of the meeting I realized I hadn't heard from the venue owner all week, and she normally confirms her appointments a few days beforehand. I called her that morning, and she was really out of it and confused but did see that we were on the schedule for the day. She initially tried to reschedule, but I told her all of our weekends in August were booked. She asked what I needed to meet with her about, and I had to remind her that she set up this meeting because she thought we needed to get together one more time before our final meeting in October. Yeesh. When we got there she was really meek and quiet and out of it. She kept saying stuff like, "oh? You have a photo booth? This is the first I've heard of that!... oh wait, no, I see here where we've discussed everything for it. Oh. Ok." She's not normally so forgetful and all over the place. Turns out she had kidney stones earlier this summer, and she got an infection from the meds she was on. It was so bad they put a stint in her, and then she got e.coli from that! Saturday was her first day back at work in 6 weeks due to those kidney stones. Holy moly!

Anywho, after that we went to lunch, and my FMIL proceeded to stress me out about whether or not her family would understand that children weren't allowed if I didn't blatantly state it on the invitation, and she mentioned FFIL was having second thoughts about being our officiant because it didn't seem legal and they thought it was the preacher's job. I told her that it was fine if he wasn't comfortable performing the ceremony, but that we needed to know ahead of time so we could find someone else. I also told her that the ceremony is 100% secular, so if he has an issue with that, we'll need to know sooner rather than later. So yeah... fun times...

Saturday evening some friends came over, and we went to dinner and then to this awesome local board game store. We had @audrewuh meet up with us there, and then we all went and got ice cream again at that local ice cream parlor that I love. Everyone came back to our apartment and chilled, and then after they left FI and I got suckered into going to a party at a friend's house. We stayed for like an hour and then came home and crashed.

On Sunday we picked up FI's suit for the wedding and bought the last suit for our GMs, and then some friends and their daughter came over to hang out. My friend is rather persuasive, so she convinced me to open three bottles of wine... By the end of the night I was completely trashed. I actually don't remember anything after dinner (FI said I fell asleep, so luckily nothing embarrassing happened), and when I woke up yesterday morning, I was still drunk. The hangover set in around noon, so I spent all day yesterday eating greasy food and laying on the couch.

This morning the Universe decided to plot against me. I woke up feeling bruised from all the bloating from this weekend. Also, neither FI or I remembered to set our alarms, so we woke up half an hour late. As I was getting out of the shower, I somehow pulled the towel bar off the wall. My allergies were acting up, so my eyes were red. No eye makeup for me today!

Oh! Also, I found out this weekend that one of our hotel blocks is already full. Invitations haven't even been sent out yet! Holy moly! I'm waiting for the hotel to reply to me about adding to the block and the list of the people who have reserved the rooms so far. Crazy!

    Is it Friday yet? Please?

OMG - Week 20!!!  I want to get KU just so I can say I have a jar of cream cheese frosting inside of me.  Nom, nom, nom.
OMG Give me all the frosting!
  • @peaseblossom55 - Blue Apron has 3 vegetarian meals per week and the ones I've tried have been delicious (my favorite being the red quinoa and black bean enchiladas with salsa verde, yum!). If you're interested in trying a week for free, let me know and I can send you an invite.

@alpacina you should do that!!! I've ALWAYS wanted to do something with dogs or horses, it just wasn't really clear until about two years ago. I showed dogs with the AKC when I was in my early teens and trained the dogs I showed in basic obedience, and then that all kinda shifted when I started taking horseback riding really seriously and I wanted to compete. Then I moved to New York for college and I met BF and started supporting myself so all of my actual passions came to a halt because i needed to pay the bills lol. When I went back to school for business my plan was always to find a way to get experience in the pet industry so I had credentials to back me up. Now it's finally happening

Side note: has anyone ever seen the show Damages? I started watching the other day and I'm seriously hooked.
  • @swazzle. Thanks I will once I'm done with this studying stuff.  The vegetarian meals I saw on their website looked really good too!

  • @AlPacina -  If you need Starbucks suggestions their Iced Peach Green Tea is amazing! It's my favorite :) I hope you start feeling better soon!

What she said! Also the mango black tea lemonade is also pretty amazing. Or get a green tea lemonade with mango!
  • @bethsmiles - Is that the one that tastes like peach rings?!? Omigod, I love that one!

@untouchablets - For most people it takes some time to get to the stable place where you can afford the time and money to really pursue your passions. I totally understand how that stuff could fall by the wayside. You'll have the cred soon enough, and I hope the opportunities follow soon after! :)........... I have not tried any of their tea/lemonades with mango. But I am obsessed with mango. This should happen. Be back soon, I'm going to Starbucks! ;)

I forgot about the mango ones, those are amazing as well! I feel like I need to make a Starbucks run a lunch today, I think I might even have a gift card.

  • @eilis1228 That stinks, hope the coordinator gets feeling back to her normal self soon. And I'm jealous that you got ice cream twice this weekend! I've been wanting it and H keeps saying no we have to watch our diets. I'm like but it's summer!

If it makes you feel better, I don't want to know anything, and I feel entitled to nothing. ;)
    And yes, today is over.

  • Morning, all! This will be a P&R - I've been reading, though.

One night off my foot has helped it heal - it's not 100%, but stepping on it doesn't constantly lead to wincing now. Gaming tonight, then tomorrow and Thursday H and I have to work really really hard on cleaning the house. I'll probably cast on another baby afghan tonight - it'll be claimed inside of 3 weeks if this year's pattern holds! At this rate I won't have any for the craft show.
