Screen Name / User Name

edited August 2015 in Chit Chat
Just curious to see how / why everyone chose the screen name they have.

Fiance's LN is Feeley. One time I said something (don't remember what) and he responded by saying "Feeley remains dubious."

I teased (and still do) him for referring to himself in the third person and often say to him "Feeley-to-be remains dubious."

ETF title; what the hell is a screek name?

Re: Screen Name / User Name

  • Well, I guess my SN is outdated now that I'm married... "tf" = the future, mrserwin = Mrs. Erwin. I am currently Mrs. Erwin, though. But it seems weird to change my screen name at this point.

  • My name and wedding date.  Pretty straightforward.
    Married 9.12.15

  • Pretty straight forward. When I was signing up I was in a hurry and couldnt think of anything creative so I just went with the obvious. Then I became active in the forums and felt like I shouldn't change it.

  • I always say that I'm lucky, and 23 is my lucky number.  Lucky23 was taken, so I had to add the A for my initial.

I kinda hate it, actually.  The A is so stupid.

Me too. I almost changed it once, but I got a warning that my new name wouldn't be tied to my old name's post history (which, in retrospect, I don't think is true). I'd like to change mine, but since I have already established myself with my current name, I guess it stays.

Honestly I think changing your avatar is more of a big deal!  Or your signature.  I've had a few different SNs, I don't think anyone noticed.

  • Winston was the name of my hedgie, in my avatar.  I was his girl.  We put him down a couple of years ago now.  :(  He had cancer

  • @luckya23 Good point... Picture probably is more noticeable.

This just made me really sad. Especially the part about you being his girl. And also it reminds me that I don't have a hedgehog, and I want one.

ETA - I'm not being snarky or sarcastic. I just picture you with Winston, telling him "Don't worry, baby, I'm your girl." Which is adorable.

Sorry to make you sad.  I've wanted a hedgehog since I was a kid.  He was awesome.  He used to sleep in the crook of my elbow (with a hoodie on) in the evenings before getting up to run around and play

  • @WinstonsGirl They should make a movie about a girl and a hedgehog. Also the fact that he had a hoodie is almost too much cute for me. And don't worry, in this case the cuteness > sadness.

  • My old name was a combination of my nickname and the city that I lived in. A close friend got engaged and in order to protect my anonymity, I choose to change it to my first toon in an online game that I played.
  • I enjoy rock climbing.
  • I just changed mine recently! I'm so bad at picking screen names and my old one included part of my maiden name. Picked PamBeesly cause I'm a big Office fan and could quote it forever :).

I thought you had a different name and was trying to figure it out!

No no, I wore the hoodie, so he wouldn't poke me.  His spikes gave me a little rash if I got poked,  When he would burrow in and out I'd get poked.  I'd never put a hoodie or anything else on a hedgie cos it would make it hard for him to raise his spikes.  But that would be super cute though

  • Any Anne Boleyn fans? I've had a couple people get the reference and ask about it in threads/message me... "The Most Happy" was her royal motto when she became queen. I love it because it's like, so bold but obviously has an edge of desperation since she had a brief and unhappy marriage- it's ambitious, in your face, ironic, an all around badass motto!

Sie is a nickname. So I'm Just Sie. I'm boring sometimes.

@winstonsgirl Sorry to hear about your hedgie. I had one as well, a male named Herbert, who also died of cancer. Those little buggers are prone to it :/

I attached a picture of my herbs, if anyone wants to see him.

ETA: I wouldn't notice someones screen name change, but I kind of picture most of you as your signatures. So for some of you that have GIFs I see you as the person in them, when two people have the same actor/actress as a GIF I get confused! ha!

  • I'm boring, too - our last name is famous.  We are not.
**The OMH formerly known as jsangel1018**
  • My fiance's extremely long, Polish last name begins with SYP... so I'm soon to be syp

    (I 'm so basic, I know ;) )
  • Anyone want to guess the color of my hair? I'm done being a bride now though. I'm bored with my screen name, actually. It was something I came up with really quickly when I joined TK and I never thought I'd use the forums. I could have been more creative.

Also, I have never had a sig, and I'm stupid when it comes to GIFs (I can never make them work). This probably makes me un-cool, and maybe a little more anonymous/less noticeable, and I'm okay with that.
  • I've just always had a thing for pin ups. Also, I'm a bride to be. Eh.

I like pin ups too. I have reproductions of old pin up drawings hanging in my bathroom. They're so sexy and suggestive without being OTT.

Exactly! I have a bunch of prints I want to have framed to hang, I just haven't gotten around it yet. It always seems to be one of those 'next paycheck' things.

Fun fact (not really): For some reason, every time I saw your name when you were new, I read it as "thermos" happy and had to train myself to read it correctly.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
