I think you and your FI need to have a come-to-Jesus with your father to clarify what are and are not appropriate expectations for him to have and how he should deal with them.

You need to get your father to understand boundaries. You are not his little girl any more. You are his grown up daughter. If you don't get him to understand boundaries, he will feel free the demand other things during your marriage. Hell, he demand to be in the delivery room when you give birth "cuz its his grandchild." Do you really want your father in the room while you push a baby out of your vagina?

haha, eesh thanks for the horrible mental image.. NO ! Off topic but my mom was actually in my SIL's delivery room... not something I'd be comfortable with!

I appreciate all your comments/advice/criticisms. Lots of things to think about and put into order before having a sit down with Mom and Dad.
