I have been MIA all week due to work being wicked busy. It is finally starting to slow down so here I am! I have lurked a bit when I had the chance this week.

I am waiting for a meeting now, but I am hoping to get out a little early today since BF is home. Tonight we will be just hanging I think, unless he changes his mind and gets bored of the house. 

Tomorrow we are dog sitting so we will most likely hang out at home so that we don't leave the dogs alone for long. We also have to get the fall clothes down and dig out the luggage. 

Sunday is picture day for cheer, and then a game. After that I will go home and watch football and relax all day. We are taking it real easy this weekend and trying to save money since we leave next Thursday for my cousin's wedding in Texas that is going to suck all the money out of us.

OMG my in laws are coming into town this weekend and they said they are stopping by the farmer's market to pick us up some sourdough bread! DAY=MADE.

Didn't do much last night. Spent good chunk of the day emailing fedex and trying to figure out my package. Ended up just sending it to my mum's place because apartments. Guhh

Last night also my eyes started being weird. I'm on the computer a lot, so I'm assuming eye strain. I ended up making an eye dr appointment for end of October when i'm off. I prob need a stronger prescription *sigh* We also watched "Blindspot" WOW THAT IS A GOOD SHOW!! I think i'm finally caught up on my shows only to have a new week start ha ha!

Saturday isn't much. Probably breakkie with my mum, tidying and homework since Matt is going to a football game.

Sunday .... possibly going to Matt's parent's place. They spent 2 weeks in western Canada {which is beautiful fyi - google British Columbia under 'images'} and apparently they got us stuff. Perfect timing so I can bring them a catalogue of tea stuff! *yay*

I think tonight is just dishes, and relaxing. Not doing anything on computer!

@beachyone15 The wedding itself is in New Braunfels. We are flying into Austin on Thursday, driving to San Antonio for Friday and Saturday and then to New Braunfels for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday then back to Austin to fly home.

I am not doing much this weekend, cleaning, getting all the fried foods at the faire.

@swazzle that is such a weird coincidence right now....my new house is apparently full of spiders because I keep getting bitten in my sleep. I never SEE any yet I wake up every morning with 2 large bites next to each other (like a vampire) and they stay red for about 4-5 days!! So I have a new group of 2 each morning in a new spot and I finally told my H that enough is enough and we need to call an exterminator or set out powder or something.

@southernpeach89 happy birthday!! hoep you have a great time, yay for your in laws bringing bread haha. Hopefully we'll have a Callie update before Tuesday, good luck!

@lavenderfields13 ugh me too, I've gotten to the point where I bought the next size up in jeans and even that didn't motivate me to cut the shit....hopefully soon....but can we have a lunch date before then? haha

Last night I had BF over and finally cooked for him, something I'd been promising for a while. Made chicken tikka masala with rice because it's a recipe I love and it's hard to foul up. Although I ended up accidentally burning the rice and slightly overcooking the chicken because of Jeopardy... BF was watching it and I kept trying to watch too (we are those people that shout the answers at the tv.) Food was still good though. Cracked open a bottle of wine I had been saving, actually cleared off my dining table so we could sit, and had ourselves a good talk.

 

Work has been majorly hectic lately, we are understaffed where people have quit and not been replaced, and there's some sort of issue getting new people hired. My director is out today and I stayed late to work ahead on some things yesterday so today should be mild.

This evening I'm just going to chill at home and clean, hopefully more cleaning than chilling... and tomorrow I wake up nice and early to go to a WVU football game with BF and our mutual friend. It's a color themed game, so I'm supposed to wear gold, but I don't own anything that's gold... so I think I shall attempt to crochet a gold beanie during my lunch break today. That or borrow a shirt from BF's thousand WVU shirts.

Ughhh no time to read all the posts, just wanted to say I am thinking of you @southernpeach89 and am so excited for you!

Just had to do a quick P&R on our tasting last night. Holy food!! I also had no idea there would be so much alcohol!

We started with a champagne toast, then sampled 4 appetizers: bacon wrapped scallops, coconut shrimp, caprese skewers, and tandoori chicken kebabs. Everything was delicious, but we decided to swap the caprese skewers for vegetable spring rolls. Then we had 2 kinds of white wine and 2 kinds of red wint. And these weren't samples, they were full glasses that kept being topped off. Lastly, they brought out our entrees. We had a parmesan crusted chicken (probably the best chicken I've ever eaten), grilled angus sirloin, and an eggplant napoleon. They brought out 2 of the steak entrees for us to try, so the 4 of us split 4 dinner entrees, which was awesome. They were all delicious and FI and I already agreed to order 1 chicken and 1 beef at our wedding so we  can share because they were both so good! The vegetarian dish was even amazing.

After the tasting FI had to go to work but I showed my mom and FMIL the space we are using for our wedding. They loved it! I can't wait for January.

I'll try to come back later and read everything I missed but if not, have a wonderful weekend ladies!

@goldenpenguin, @Swazzle, @csousa1 -- Salem is a lot of fun -- it should be in full Halloween mode too; I only went in off season because I'm a chicken who can't handle creepy stuff

AW time: I should have taken pictures after he cut and stapled, but I was feeling lazy.  Here's what it looked like while we were rolling out the floor. So the small ugly window is where the dryer will go, the washer to the left.  The last picture I was standing in the half bathroom, to the left is the closet. 

I'm thinking a light cream-tan-beige for the walls.  Even though this is the back of the house, we plan on making this the main entryway.  I want to keep it light since the kitchen is darker.

@southernpeach89 Your ute is probably as cute and comfy as your Southern Living-worthy home, and she just can't bear the thought of leaving. You're just too hospitable! Enjoy your last weekend as a family of 3!

@caseface5 You guys are going to have so much fun in Texas! Austin and San Antonio are amazing cities! Also, if you have time, I recommend floating the Comal River in New Braunfels. It's definitely still warm enough here to do it, and it's so relaxing and fun.

@GoldenPenguin @Swazzle Have so much fun in Salem! It's such a great town! My family and I spent a day there a few years ago when we did a big family vacation to New England. Salem was definitely one of the highlights of the entire trip.

I have the bestest most wonderful FI ever. Last night I was feeling really gross thanks to some high caffeine tea I downed to stay awake for @audrewuh, and I wasn't really feeling up to making the HC meal for me and @audrewuh. FI very sweetly and generously cooked the entire dinner by himself for us, and then he made ramen for his own dinner. He is the best! The dinner was also NOMS! The green beans were probably the highlight for me... I could have eaten a whole pot of those. 

@Audrewuh and I were super productive yesterday despite both us feeling out of it. She was recovering from an invasive doctor's appointment, and I was either yawning like crazy or feeling sick from the caffeinated tea. We make the quite duo lol. We did manage to make a ton of progress on a project we're working on together, and I'm just so excited to see what it looks like after she works her magic on it. 

After she left, I took a nice long hot Epsom salt bath because I was a little sore from Wednesday's training session. It was glorious. I finished Mindy Kaling's first book, and now I want to read her most recent book. She is a great writer, and I want her to be my BFF. I would love to hang out with her, Amy Poehler, and Tina Fey. 

This weekend, FI and I are pretty busy. Tonight we're hanging out with my hair stylist and her FI. I'm really looking forward to it. We haven't been able to hang out with them in months because our schedules never align. Tomorrow afternoon we're meeting my parents at the rehearsal dinner restaurant for a tasting. It's one of my family's favorite restaurants, so I imagine we'll love everything and will have a tough time figuring out what to serve. lol. Tomorrow night is my BM/personal trainer's birthday celebration. She wants to hit up a few hookah bars and potentially get a new tattoo. It should be a lot of fun! Then Sunday is open, which I purposely did, so we can run errands and relax.

Yeah I'm sometime bulging out of my current jeans and I refuse to go up a size! I know this size is where I should be so I want to at least get back to where I fit in them comfortably. Yes, please to a lunch date!

@speakeasy14 I hate creepy stuff too and since my birthday is near Halloween people always wanted to do haunted houses, haunted hayrides, etc as my birthday outing. No, thank you.

@lavenderfields13 ugh same here! I also always had a costume party for my birthday party.  The one year I refused to dress up because I wanted a normal birthday party.

@southernpeach89 I'm sending you tons and tons of positive labor vibes. I was induced with Bean 2 days post due date. It wasn't as pleasant an experience as most induction stories I've heard, so I'm not going to share it with you. You need to go in with positive thoughts and vibes and I'm sending every single one I've got to surround you and help push you towards that awesome moment! I can't WAIT to see Baby Callie! She is already coming into this world with her Daddy wrapped around her finger! Just as it should be.

I miss you guys tons. I've been insanely busy at work and at home lately. Bean's soccer functions take up every 'spare moment' of our lives now. I'm really enjoying it though. The other families have been very welcoming and I've been working very hard to overcome some of my 'new kid' social anxieties. I've really had to pace myself and not set my expectations too high. When I have a rough day, I'm talking it through with Donald and finding solutions to get back out there and try again, rather than just saying "No one here likes me. I am unlikable." It's been tough, but positive at the same time. Does that make sense?

Wedding stuff is plugging right along and we're just over a month out. I'm starting to fret over a few small details like decorations and such, but I also realize that if they don't come to fruition, its ok too. None of the little things are going to make or break the wedding. Except I just realized we need to go get our wedding license. Shit. I forgot about that part. I better research timelines and rules on that.

Other than that, I'm boring.

@eilis1228 fried pickles for sure!! Last year I had fried oreo and wasn't that impressed so maybe this year I'll try a fried snickers or something like that. And the fresh cut fried potato chips are my favorite! H will get approximately 4 corn dogs as that's his favorite hahah.

@lavenderfields13 I am not big on creepy, scary Halloweeny stuff either. I once did a corn maze on a first date and it was terrible. I hated the guy and I was stuck with him because we couldn't find our way out. I'm not even kidding, I was legit pissed off because I wanted to get away from him, I tried to end it and cut through the corn and I got yelled at lol.

I love Halloween stuff, including the spooky things. Haunted houses and trails are my jam. Get a chainsaw dude near me and I will flip out though. Nope nope nope/
