Advice on Accessories

Hi, I bought my dress yesterday and I'm not really sure what to use as accessories. If you guys could give me some ideas on what type of veil and if I should wear a necklace with this, that would really help! I know I want to wear my hair up with it and get some type of a hairpiece but I'm not really sure on what type for that either. I'm thinking a headband type with some sparkle.

I have a lot of time until the wedding (10 months), but I'm so excited I thought I'd get ideas now.

Very pretty dress  ... The bridal consultant who helped you with dresses would probably be the best person to ask about the veil, since s/he can help choose the correct fabric & detail to go best with the lace in your dress.

As for other accessories, I think a simple necklace that hangs just above the peak of the sweatheart would bring a little something to the open area. Maybe if you haven't thought of a something blue yet, you could wear a sapphire solitaire pendent? Pearls are always timeless and classic, and there are plenty of options that aren't grammy-ish.

I generally don't like necklaces with wedding gowns - and yours is no exception.  You have enough going on with the dress that you don't need to add a necklace to distract from it.  Instead, I'd opt for drop earrings and, if you really want something else for bling, a bracelet.

I originally bought a sparkly headband to wear, but in the end opted for a pretty, sparkly barrette instead....something to consider.

Thanks for the advice! I like your idea of using sapphires as a something blue. Maybe I can get drop earrings.
I'm thinking of wearing a long veil, just to the floor. Do you think that would cover the lace on the train of my dress?

Yeah, I don't think I'd end up wearing a necklace. I think drop earrings are really pretty, great idea!
Maybe I'll wear a sparkly clip instead of a headband. More subtle.

Personally, yes I think too long of a veil would take away from the beautiful lace on the train of the dress. But you could always wear the veil for the ceremony and pictures and then remove it for the reception  

Drop earrings are an awesome idea! Just make sure they aren't heavy, I know my ears get awfully red and achy if I wear danglies for too long if they are large or have significant weight to them.

I also chose a sparkly clip rather than go for a headband or nothing since I will be wearing a veil for the ceremony, although FI does not know, and I'll take it off for the reception. It gives a little extra oomph to my hair for later on without overpowering the veil

I agree, I would skip the necklace and go for maybe long earrings since you are wearing your hair up.  I would choose some sort of lace trimmed veil to match dress or you could go for a simple satin trimmed veil since you have that satin belt. Either way the dress is beautiful!
