How to combine veil and headpiece

I want a vintage-look headpiece like the one pictured here, probably with a similar hairstyle. How does one wear a veil with a headpiece like this? Would you stick the comb in between the headpiece and the bun somehow, or should I just expect to wear the veil higher, covering up the headpiece until I take the veil off for the reception? I'm having trouble finding pictures of people using both, not surprisingly, because companies are usually just selling one or the other, so that's all they photograph. Would love to hear suggestions and/or see photographs of what others have done in this situation, thank you!

If you google "veil low bun" you'll find plenty of examples of women wearing a low bun with a hair piece above the bun and the veil below the bun.

I wore a veil with a low bun (no headpiece). I attached a couple pictures where you can see the veil placement the best. It looks like you could wear the headpiece you're interested in over the veil or above it and take off the veil for the reception.

I wore a flower crown and a veil. I placed the veil over the crown and then took the veil off for the reception.

What I would do is go with a classic round veil (silly as it's going to sound, get a round tablecloth pattern and cut it out of tulle) - then attach the veil using some fish line and bobby pins in your hair color.  Then, when it's time for the reception, you just take it off while leaving the headpiece on.
