Not Engaged Yet

It's not Friday....

... which is what I thought since last night. I seriously said to H when we got into bed: I can sleep in a little bit tomorrow because it's Friday and I'm just going to throw on jeans and a sweatshirt with booties. And he was like:

SIGH. What the hell is up with this long ass week though!?

Last night, I went food shopping then went home and made a western omelette casserole and threw chicken into the crockpot with salsa verde so that I'd have breakfast and lunch for the rest of the week. I ate a quick dinner and then H got home and it was after 9 so we just went to bed. EXCITING!

Tonight H and I are finally decorating our tree! We just haven't gotten around to it since Saturday when we got it. Other than that, not a whole lot going on here!

Talk to me about your Thursday.

Re: It's not Friday....

  • I'm so ready for this week to be over.  I had rehearsal last night, got home around 10:40, showered had a quick snack and went to bed.   I have rehearsal again tonight as well, but it shouldn't be as late.

Even this weekend will be tiring, I have 4 shows this weekend.  At least I am working from home today and I don't have to rush home, make dinner and then head back out the door. Life is so exciting.  I am struggling with what to get my mom for Christmas, no clue and she is of no help to me either.

  • @jenjen047 Same here, tomorrow I have a doctor apt at 1 so I'm like well I should proooobably just work from home and save the drive.

It will be my first pre-natal appointment and I'm really hoping to hear a heartbeat :)

I signed up for the activities committee at work and I'm so regretting it. Getting bombarded with group emails about the Christmas party next week and if we should do an ugly sweater thing, and if we should do a toys for tots drive, and if we should do this and that. Last week when I was gone I got about 15 emails talking about changing the chicken parm to roast chicken. OMFG people I don't care, these things don't need meetings, just someone pick something and go with it.

  • I went through most of the afternoon yesterday convinced it was Thursday.  It was not.  UGH!!!!!!  What is going on with this week?

I am very glad that today is Thursday.  I only have 2 meetings (so far) on my calendar today.

I'm going to try to come up with a grocery list today.  Ha.

I think I only have 3 lessons to teach tonight, so my big plans are:  get off work, eat something, teach, shower, bed.
  • @jenna8984 - YAY! Can't wait to hear about your appointment!

@peaseblossom55 - I always struggle with what to get my mom too. And she will give ideas but they are the most impossible things. One year she asked for a maroon purse. Like if there's a particular purse you want, great. But everyone's styles and tastes are so different I feel like it's a shot in the dark.
  • @jenna8984 you already have your first appt???  Wow!  Mine made me wait until I was 9 weeks.  I go in on Monday.
  • @jenjen047  @jenna8984  you ladies should just stay home if you're only working part day. Save the hassle of leaving the house. ;)

Not much last night. Was able to get rid of a bag of bags {gift bags} because they weren't good enough to be reused in one way or another.

Tonight I have an appointment at the bank to increase my TFSA, and we're getting the Christmas tote from the locker.

    Otherwise really nothing tonight.
    Tomorrow I've got running around to do after work, and last night I happened to mention that I was really wanting egg salad so my Granny said she'd make some and call me Friday. Yayy!! Matt hates eggs and I haven't learned how to make eggs salad properly {really the egg boiling part I have an issue with ...}
Matt's also going to Magic Draft with a buddy of his on Friday, so I get to shovel ALL THE EGG SALAD IN MY FACE on Friday night lmao!
  • @cocobellaf Yea they didn't even ask! I just said I wanted to make the first appt and they said ok here's a date. 6.5 weeks so it might be borderline to hearing a heartbeat but we'll see! Good luck with yours Monday!

  • @jenna8984 don't expect to hear the heartbeat.  You should be able to SEE the heartbeat at your 6.5w appointment, but you won't be able to hear it on a Doppler until closer to 10w.  :)
  • @beanbot2002 @cocobellaf aaah gotcha, I thought I read something about the heartbeat at 6 weeks, it must have been sight not sound, good to know!

@peaseblossom55 hahah Maury- you are NOT the father!

  • @beachyone15  envious of your today-is-your-Friday!

I think tomorrow I'm going to watch a Christmas movie ...

  • @goldenpenguin - That was me a few months back at work. Constantly making mistakes and not even sure why. It's the most frustrating feeling. Stick with it, I'm sure you're doing the best you can and it'll get better with time. Is your client a fun client at least? Or are you scheduling posts for something like adult diapers?

@labro - My mom is a princess and would never let me do that. She wants to be surprised. I swear sometimes she is a 5 year old.

@GoldenPenguin  little alien in your tum LMAO :')

@labro poor Cinders! Hope the infection goes away quick!
  • @labro aw hope cinders infection goes away soon

@goldenpenguin It was like that with me last year, they transitioned over a huge commission processing job to me and for months I just kept fucking it up. I felt so confident and then a rep would call and be like NOPE. It was frustrating, you'll get better!!

  • @GoldenPenguin All those gifts sound so awesome!! Can I please just claim you as my SS next year so you can buy me all the things?

I'm sorry work is so crazy. On one hand, at least you aren't bored, and hopefully you're learning so when you go through all this again you'll have it down pat! I love and hate my job when it's challenging...but when you're through it all it ends up being worthwhile. <3 Let's have a wine skype date soon and you can vent!

  • @GoldenPenguin - My H is the same way. If it were up to him, we wouldn't get gifts at all. His list this year -
-Grill gauge (to see how full the gas tank on the grill is)
    -Weed eater
    -A GB packers flag
    -Popcorn
Literally everything else I got him was from my own imagination. Hopefully he likes it all. He really only ever wants things that are completely functional and not fun at all. Ugh.

  • IT'S MY FRIDAY! WOOT!!

Last night our Home Chef meals didn't show up, so I grabbed dinner on my way home and then spent the night reading stacks of information about IVF. Holy head spinning, batman.

I had my second visit with the psychiatrist's office to diagnose my AD(H)D this morning. Both doctor's were in agreement, so tomorrow I'll get a prescription. It's funny how much stuff I've been doing to keep anxiety in check that I hadn't even noticed. I'm excited to try some medicine and see how it works for me!

Tonight DH and I are going to go to happy hour. I need to do some laundry and grocery shopping, too, but I have all day tomorrow to get stuff done. Tomorrow I'm going to go to Crossfit, a final doctor's appointment, take our dogs to the canal for a good long walk, get a massage, and then relax with DH. It sounds exhausting when I write it all out!

@peaseblossom55 - Warm apple cider sounds delicious right now!
@jenjen047 - Yay! Anything that cuts down on wedding stress is a good thing :)
@goldenpenguin - The only thing you can do is move forward and not make the same mistake twice! You'll get a handle on it.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • @jenjen047 - I don't want to put out there exactly who my client is, but they are VERY well known, and it's a really fun account. And it's not adult diapers lol.

@jenna8984 - I hate it!! Plus every time I get another email/phone call from my supervisor, I feel like I'm getting scolded. And then my brain turns into "Yup, you're getting fired" mode. Which makes it even worse. UGH.

@labro - I'd LOVE to be your SS!! And YES PLEASE to the wine & Skype date!! Next week??

@goldenpenguin H is the same way, he just buys what he wants.  I have him as my Secret Santa for the family exchange and I wanted to buy him a new video game for him Xbox one and he keeps buying the ones I was going to get.  I finally got him a game I think he will enjoy that he hasn't bought himself yet.

WR question: we are planning to order thank you cards with a picture of us from the wedding on them, like this:

However, we are already getting gifts from people who can't attend. I am thinking we should we just use generic thank you cards in the meantime rather than waiting until January. Thoughts?

  • @beachyone15 he asked for popcorn??
