Why the hell is it Monday already

Enough is enough. The weekends are just TOO short and I'm sick of it. 

I'm running for President in the 2016 election and my first course of action will be shortening the work week and extending the weekend. Who's with me?

I had a really nice weekend!

I met H on Friday for the Devils game where we came back from being down 2 goals to winning in OT! It was exhilarating! 

On Saturday, I got up early and headed to DE for my family's baking extravaganza! We had such a nice day and we made SO many cookies. I'm glad we're doing a dessert potluck at work later this week so I can get them all out of my house. I was the most successful baker of the day! Both of my cookies (double chocolate mint and oatmeal chocolate chip) came out PERFECT! 

When I got home, H and I went to see TSO and it was really fun! We were both super tired but we still had a great time anyway. 

Yesterday was spent cleaning and organizing things all over the house and watching my Eagles beat @cu97tiger 's Bills  

Tonight I have a work Christmas dinner at one of the best restaurants in NYC and I'm super excited about it! I only have a 4 day work week this week so hopefully it FLIES by!

My weekend was exhausting from all of the show, it turns out I had more fun than I expected.  My parents came to see the show opening night.  Saturday I had 2 shows, came home tired hung out with H and we went to bed early.  Sunday I had an afternoon show, then  H & I watched some football played some video games and ordered pizza.

I slept so bad last night and was up early for a doctor's appointment, it went well but I am tired.  I need to run to target after work, go to church then I need to make a soup for some lunches this week.  I had no energy to do that over the weekend.  I also finished reading The Handmaid's Tale this weekend and just started reading The Paris Wife, I'm enjoying it so far.

@swazzle So jealous of your dinner tonight! Our company party is Friday and it's just some average food catered in our lunch room.

I was off work Friday so that's why I wasn't involved in the UO, II thread. I had my first prenatal appointment and it went great, everything looks normal so far. Good luck at your appt today @cocobellaf . And I will try not to say much about it daily since someone on that UO said it was getting too "the bump" up in here.

I knew I had a lot going on with work and travel this month so I didn't partake in the secret santa but I'm loving checking out the reveals and y'all did such a great job with such thoughtful gifts!

@jenna8984 - I didn't remember seeing that comment so I just went back now to read it. I think what she was saying was more hearing about all the gross symptoms that come along with being pregnant rather than hearing about everyone being KTFU and that their appointments went well.

@jenna8984 Our work party is being catered from the caf here too. No idea what's on the menu yet but I probably won't eat it. A woman at work is bringing in some of my favorite Italian cookies made by her mom (same kind my mom makes) so I'm excited for that! Glad your appt went well!

My weekend went by way too fast. Friday I tried to go to the mall after work but the traffic heading that way was ridiculous so I just went home.

Saturday H called into work and we went to the mall to get a few things done and then I finally got the pizza I had been craving. It was delicious!

Then yesterday I cleaned the whole apartment (besides the side bedroom/junkroom- that's a project for another day) and H cleaned the bathroom. I was exhausted but it's so nice to have everything clean. I still have a ton of boxes in the dining room full of candles from the wedding. I need to find a spot for them because I'm too lazy to sell them. Yesterday was also H's friend's bday so we had dinner with him and his GF then the guys stayed out to watch the football game. They came home and his friend was really drunk so he was staying over. He woke me up by ringing the doorbell in the middle of the night. Then he puked all over the freshly cleaned bathroom. H cleaned most of it up last night but there were some spots he missed that I found this morning. Gross. Happy Monday.

Weekend was easy but busy.
Friday didn't do much. I went through xmas stuff and put out ornaments. I think we're forgoing our tree this year, which is fine with me. We're going to put our lights around the couch or balcony door. Something to be a tad festive.

Saturday Matt had a blood donation appt and I just tidied up a bunch. Had some running around to do, then started getting ready for my xmas party.
Pre-party at my boss' house and she curled my hair. Everyone loved it, so she curled pretty much everyone's hair lol!
At the restaurant we had the whole basement to ourselves, and there was only 10 of us lol

Afterwards went back to her place and did secret santa. I got gift card for Walmart, which is great because I had my eye on some home decor stuff.

Sunday was low-key. Cleaned the spare room carpet from Angel being sick and that's about it.

This week is busier than I'd like. Exam tonight, dentist tomorrow, mall some point this week, coffee date with friends on Friday, baking and xmas party with friends Saturday, hosting xmas on Sunday.


I'm on the hunt for books to read. Taking suggestions! I'm not into horror or sci-fi, mainly fiction but open to ideas if you speak highly of them!!

I'm jealous of everyone's work dinners. I work for the state government and parties are basically banned, so all we can do is have staff potluck lunches. Still good though, but I long for a legit work party!

My weekend was good. BF and I went and got asian food on Friday at the place we had our first date. Unfortunately the sushi wasn't very good. The other food was ok but I don't think we will go back there for a while.

Saturday I was a total slug and didn't do much of anything, and it took everything in my power to get ready to go out to a friend's Christmas party. The plan had been to make an appearance at the party and then go downtown, but we ended up staying at the party because it was a good crew of people. =

Sunday I took advantage of the NICE weather and walked a couple miles at the park, then sat and watched a lady throw tennis balls for her two border collies. Once I got home I felt motivated, so I went through my bathroom and threw out a TON of old products. Anything unopened or very lightly used that wasn't old I'm going to attempt to give to one of the women's shelters here.

@swazzle ooh gotcha, good catch! I will save any barfy talk for my other site, although I'm feeling pretty good and haven't had that yet I did bring in a "Christmas cookie" yankee candle to help with my stinky boss and it smells awesome.

@misskittydanger The Handmaid's Tale was weird, but it was a quick read for me.  The Paris Wife is about Ernest Hemmingway's wife, I haven't read too much yet but it's interesting.

@jenna8984 I'm glad your appointment went well! Was your EDD adjusted or is everything on track?

@TwoDimes Your work party sounds sooooooo amazing! I missed my office's Thanksgiving potluck (our holiday party) thanks to my car accident, and then we also missed H's holiday blowout so I'm really feeling bummed about it all.

Just like everyone else, my weekend was busy and I am le tired...especially after H basically had a sleepless night which means I didn't sleep very well either.

Saturday we ended up hanging out with two of our friends in Atlanta. We went to the art museum and then had pulled pork, mac n cheese, and coleslaw for dinner. It was sooooo delicious! Our meet-up was bitter sweet though. They announced they were moving to San Francisco because one of them recently accepted a job at Google. It's super exciting for them, but I'm super bummed they are leaving. We planned a good bye breakfast for December 27th before they start their road trip out west.

Sunday was our big baking day! Everything came out absolutely perfectly, except I overcooked a few sugar cookies...whoops. I still need to ice the sugar cookies and make spiced pecans but we are basically done! It was so much fun spending the day with Callie and @southernpeach89. Callie is growing so much! We laid her on the floor on a blanket in the kitchen while we worked and she had a blast playing with her rattle and watching us. I didn't get to see her do her new trick (rolling over) but apparently she did it several times again on Saturday so her roll-over from the other week was definitely not a fluke!

Looks like I missed a lot on NEY over the weekend! Friday was my shopping day. My friend who always goes with me was sick so that was kind of a bummer. We usually go every year together. It ended up being ok though because I got everything on my list so I'm officially done shopping!
Saturday I got my hair cut and colored and it feels so much better. Will have to post a pic later. We had my grandparents over for dinner since they hadn't seen our house yet (and we've only been there for 9 months now!). My grandpa brought us some deer feed for the deer behind the fence in our backyard. His own house is about 6 acres and he loves to feed the deer but a new neighbor moved in recently that's been shooting them for sport. So my grandpa is really sad about it and doesn't want to keep feed them and luring them around his place just to get killed. So that's why he brought us all of his deer food. I told him he could visit our deer any time.
Sunday we were lazy the entire day. All we did was go grocery shopping. Then that evening we went to the Riverwalk downtown for a river cruise with H's family. That was fun and really pleasant because it was only 75 degrees outside. We actually turned our A/C on yesterday. Lots to look forward to this week. It's my last week of work before my 2 weeks off!

@swazzle - I would LOVE a shorter work week. Who came up with this whole 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week thing anyway? Glad you had fun at TSO - I love them!
@jenna8984 - Glad your appointment went well!
@lavenderfields13 - UGH. That guy wouldn't be welcome over at my house for awhile after all that!

@labro - Callie sounds like she's ahead of the game. You'll have to keep an eye on her as it sounds like she's growing up fast!

@beachyone15 She really is! My sister met up with some of her old sorority sisters on Saturday who have all had babies. The other two girls are both over a year but apparently Callie was very fascinated by the older girls! @southernpeach89 laid her on her belly and Callie pushed herself up on her arms and just stared away while the other two girls ran around and played. Normally she HATES tummy time but apparently the other two toddlers provided sufficient distraction.

@twodimes - I have a pair that look almost the exact same and I love them! Also, ditto what you said about pregnancy talk. While it's sometimes difficult for me to read about, I can always skip it when I see the first pregnancy-related word, and to just NOT talk about such a huge thing going on in your life would be weird.

Friday I did a bunch of errands on my day off and then met some ladies out for a GNO. I was a little sluggish Saturday. I gave blood, laid around some more, and then DH and I went out to dinner with one of his CW and his wife. It was fun, but I was way over-dressed for the restaurant. I seriously felt like a hooker and would have KILLED to have been wearing skinny jeans and boots.

Sunday I spent the whole day either writing Christmas cards, finishing Christmas shopping, or grocery shopping. It wasn't a very relaxing day, but so much is done! I just need to wrap a crap-ton of gifts tonight. I have one more gift to get for DH (THIS) and then I am DONE. Oh wait, and we need to get something for his aunt, since we're going there on Christmas day.

This week is a 3.5-day week for me. Lots of Crossfit and wrapping in my future. Thursday afternoon is our holiday party, then we head to Richmond for the weekend with my sis+family.

OHHHH - the other big news from this weekend is that I bought tickets to the NCAA Football National Championship game. They were MUCHO expensive but this is a once in a lifetime chance! My dad and I are going to go. Tickets will be easily re-sellable if we don't win the semi-final game. Southwest ticket will definitely get used later this year. And the car reservation didn't even require a credit card... so it was a no-lose situation. I"M SO EXCITEDDDDDD.

@jenna8984 Yeah the perks with Google are pretty sweet....and even with the major change in COL between Atlanta and SF they'll still see a small net increase in their income. I told them to expect us next year for a week long visit to Napa and Sonama Valleys!

@lavenderfields13 - Gross...I can't believe the friend did that and didn't offer to clean up or something.  I had a friend come over and puke in my bathroom once, which she promptly cleaned up afterwards.  I never knew about it until she told me the next day...though I was wondering why my bathroom smelled of cleaning supplies lol.  

@jeann8984 - Yeah for a good doctor's appointment!  I love updates on NEY babiez so feel free to share with me if you want.  

@wink0erin - Good for you for being so active on Sunday!  It was nice (well rainy but nice) here too and I didn't go outside hardly at all.  

@labro - I saw the Callie pictures from the weekend and she IS SO ADORABLE!!! I want to hug her so much!  Also...rolling over!!!  She's growing up so fast! I'm glad the cookie baking went well this weekend...but I'm sorry your friends are moving.  Always makes me sad that a lot of my friends are spread out throughout the country.  I hope you guys manage to stay in touch.  

@MissKittyDanger - Does Matt donate blood often?  Good for him!

My weekend was a mixed bag.  I don't want to (and can't) get into too much detail here without seriously writing a novel or taking all of you out to drinks at the very least to ask you to listen to this crap but the long and the short of it is that I went to therapy for years and years to get over some major family issues I had growing up...I got some news this weekend that pretty much threw me right back into the ringer.  I had a full on mental break down on Saturday.  I'm going to try to implement some of the things I learned in therapy over the next month.  I told H if they don't work for me within a month, I'm going back to therapy.  Its not healthy for me or the baby, honestly, to be this stressed and upset.  I think I'll probably email my old therapist too today (we still keep in touch...she went to our wedding and all).  I'm just done with the drama and the roller coasters.  

In brighter news, Rajah did pretty good this weekend!  He went #2 finally on Saturday and H and I were celebrating the first post-surgery poop.  He's still freaking out over his meds and in pain and not putting a lot of weight on his leg (just toe touching) but I'll take the small victories as they come.  

H and I also cleaned the house this weekend which was nice as it was looking a bit like a dump.  I love a clean house.  I also spent a large part of the weekend measuring and re-measuring the main bathroom.  We are gutting it and still trying to figure out how we can fit a bath with a separate shower as well as a double vanity.  If the space weren't so oddly shaped it would help A LOT.  I think we finally figured out a configuration that works with a 60 inch double vanity (small but livable) but now I can't find the right tub that works with the space.  I've spent hours researching this crap so I'm ready to be done.  Hopefully a few more hours and I can make a decision.

@minskat30  yup! He's 0 negative so he goes every chance he gets. Unfortunately he can't for a year after our trip to the Dominican Republic, so he's disappointed in that.

@cu97tiger That's so awesome! Where is the game? I can't remember if it was last year or the one before but my team (Auburn) was in the championship game playing in Phoenix where I used to live and have tons of friends. So I really wanted to fly out and stay with them and go but tickets were waaay over my budget. Same when I was living in Phx for the Superbowl, I was dying to go but didn't have an extra $1500 sitting around- one day!!

@minskat30 thanks! Sorry about all your therapy stress, I really hope you can get in touch with your old therapist since she/he seems like a big help to you. I'm so happy that Raj is healing well, I really loved that picture on Friday of his little kennel made of chairs outside haha.

@twodimes ok I normally don't like xmas cards with just a pet picture but I'd die for one of those with Indy, so adorable.

@jenna8984 - The game is Phoenix... where I also used to live So the free place to stay definitely helped. I cannot believe I dropped that much on a ticket to the game (an END ZONE ticket, at that!) but if we do end up playing in the game, it will be an unforgettable experience to share with my dad.

@minskat30 - I'm sorry to hear something has thrown you for a loop. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help (listen to a vent, send a gif, etc )
