I actually have a friend that volunteers at a goat farm in the bay area. She goes every Sunday and helps to feed them and stuff. I'm not sure how much snuggling she does as these are older goats that get rented out to clean up grass and stuff, but it sure looks fun. Another old co-worker back in my hometown has goats, and she posts pictures of the new ones when they get born and I squee all over the place.

That's so cool, even if it's not all snuggling! I used to volunteer at an animal shelter and would take dogs for walks but some of them were kind of shy and didn't like being taken out so I'd just sit in their kennel with them for a little while playing with toys and petting them. It was awesome. I should try to find a place like that where I live now. The downfall is I'm not sure I have the restraint to not adopt all of the animals...
Someday I want like a mini farm of animals where they aren't for food or work or anything just there for me to pet and take care of. Luckily DH is totally for this idea though it will be a few years I'm sure.
So... I know this started on goats but there are positions where volunteers can snuggle with babies in the hospital. I just thought that was such an excellent thing to do. Looks like retired women tended to be the snugglers.
If I could go through life just snuggling as my 'role' that'd be pretty awesome.
I would LOVE this! And the emails I'd get from people after I changed my LinkedIn profile to Goat Snuggler would be hilarious!
Right! What a funny exit interview I'd have too. "Yes that's correct HR Person I am leaving my job as an engineer to pursue a career in Goat Snuggling"... Though I think my HR Person would not be entirely surprised so I might not get the reaction I'd be hoping for.

LOL YES! And also to have to repeat - several times - that it is goat SNUGGLING not goat SMUGGLING.
My mom adopted a young goat to help weed her horse pasture, but he was scared of the horses so she adopted two more to keep him company. Then the humane society asked if she would take 3 more. She went from 0 goats to 6 in less than 3 weeks, lol. Luckily, she has plenty of weeds on her 12 acres so they will be quite happy. If the pictures were on my iPad I would post the ones of my brothers snuggling them.
This would be my life
Week One - M,W,F - snuggle baby goats
T,TH - snuggle baby people
Week two M,W,F - snuggle baby people
T,TH - snuggle baby goats
Lather, rinse, repeat. I would so love that life.

Add snuggle puppies to that mix and you've got the Best Job Description Ever.
Yes, volunteering at an animal shelter is therapeutic! I've tried it back in 2013. I would love to try this if there's an opportunity in my area. So cute!
