Addressing Save The Dates

I scrolled through two pages of boards and didn't see this addressed.

How do you address save the dates for people getting a plus one?  Should they just be addressed to the invited guest or should it say First Last and Guest?

Also are nicknames okay or should it be full names.  I.e.  Timothy instead of Timmy?

They are casual correspondence so nicknames are fun.  It can even say Bubba or Slim rather than Timothy if you want.

As for "and guest" I think this would depend on who it was.  I might just call up Timmy and tell him that by now he's sure to have received his STDate, and he's welcome to bring a date or friend or his mom or his brother as a guest if he chooses.  For Aunt Beatrice who I'm only inviting because my mom wants me to, I'll probably write 'and guest' on her STDate because I really don't want to bother having a conversation with her on the phone, but she can plan to bring a friend if she likes.
  • The STD is not an invitation, but a promise of one to come.  The actual invitation is sent 8 weeks before the ceremony, so this is when you give the plus one.  It is not necessary to include notice of a plus one on an STD.  Nobody needs six months to find a date.
