Band or DJ? Recommendations!

Hi everyone!
I'm not sure whether I want a band or DJ. I've heard pros and cons for both. I am meeting with two bands and two DJs local to the Northwest Suburbs. Can anyone give any advice whether to book a band or DJ? Any recommendations for either a band or DJ? ANY advice would be helpful!
