@speakeasy14 - Well, we have a 6 foot real fence up now.  Not a bad idea though to actually separately fence around the shared gate too.  I'm worried our neighbors would hate us though...they need access to our back yard to easily change out their windows in spring/winter (they have the old kind that need to be swapped out during the seasons).  I'm also not sure I would do an invisible fence if push came to shove.  My hesitation on the invisible fence is two fold.  One, the shock/pain factor (though obviously less painful than Raj getting hit by a car).  Two, I don't know many Pyr owners who have had luck with invisible fences...Pyrs tend to not care so much about the pain of a shock as they do exploring.

Anyone have GPS tags for their dog?  I'm open to brands/experience that have worked well for others.
  • @minskat30 hmmm that is tricky then.  We leash Callie and don't let her out unless she is on a leash or someone is with her.  Not sure what else would work for Mister Houdini

  • @minskat30 I hear that that the most popular dog gps brand is Garmin but I don't have any experience with it.
  • @minskat30 Ugh sorry! I've never had a dog so I am no help but that is really annoying and the only thing I could think of is to keep him leashed the whole time :(

@jenna8984 I think that's a MA only tax.  Which is super dumb.  So is the law that you must change your address within 6 months of living in MA even if it isn't permanent.

*@jenjen047 yeah I use RTR a lot.  I've mostly used them for wedding events, but have also used them for my birthday or special occassions.  I love them!  The most I've spent on a dress was I think $60, you get the dress for 4 days.  And get the dress in two sizes so you're guaranteed for it to fit. I can send you a referral if you'd like so you can get $20 off you first rental.

  • @AlPacina hahaha yeah it's not the first kitchen item he's ruined either.  He also ruined one of my pots.  After that, he now asks because I made him replace them with the most expensive items possible.

  • @speakeasy14 - I've used it once before (for my bachelorette). I ended up ordering 2 dresses and didn't wear either of them. Boo. I'd try it again for the right occasion, though. My friend went to the RTR store in Chicago which she said was incredible.
  • @jenjen047 I base a lot of my choices with RTR off reviews with girls my size.  I've only had an issue once, and that was because the dress was way too short.  I let them know it didn't fit and because they were unable to send a replacement they just gave me a credit for the dress. I really want to go to one of their shops.  I think there's one in New York now.

@jenna8984 We pay a tax on our cars too. In Georgia you used to pay annually with your registration and the total amount was based on the age and value of your car....so over time the amount would go down as your car got older and thus less valuable. Now, you pay it all upfront so when I bought my new car I paid something like $1400 in tax. But going forward I'll only pay a $20 tag fee each year when I renew my car registration.

ETA: This was actually really controversial but it's only annoying for people who HAVE TO HAVE a new car every 2 or 3 years. If you're like me and you drive your car forever, you actually save quite a bit of money. So I'm actually a big fan of the new policy and I didn't think I would be.

  • @twodimes & @labro geez it's $35 to register your car in PA, and just has to be renewed each year.  You pay taxes when you buy your car, but it's like a couple hundred between taxes and fees.

  • @TwoDimes We pay in our birth month too but luckily ours are split up. Both the pick-up and my car are primarily in my name so now we're only paying $40 in July but H's car is still on the old system since he bought his before the law changed...but last year the fee was in the $100something range since his car is a 2010 model and it will go down again this year so it's not totally horrible.

  • @jenjen047 - Absolutely beautiful!!!  Your dad's reaction made me cry.

@Swazzle - Hugs to you.  I'm sure you were your Poppop's favorite because you are everyone's favorite.  ;)  I hope you have a toast in his honor today.
  • @AlPacina OMG that unicorn story is amazing! I loved the ending!

    @Swazzle I'm 100% certain you were your Poppop's favorite too! <3

  • So I have a big offsite meeting that I am running next week and am currently working on the seating chart.... I had to triple check that I spelled my name right.  Is today over yet?!

Yes, this. I had the thought that I should go grab lunch before the deli runs out, and next thing I know I'm walking back to the office with food in my hand. Still don't remember the in-between minutes.

  • THIS IS THE LONGEST WEEK OF MY LIFE.
