WOO HOO! 

You. Guys. The dinner I made last night was freaking INCREDIBLE! I highly recommend it for all of my WW pals (only 3 points for the chicken part) and for anyone else that likes yummy food. It was also incredibly easy to make. Skinnytaste Skillet Chicken in Tomato-Chipotle Sauce with Avocado Crema and Skinnytaste Cilantro Lime Rice. Next time I want to serve it over cilantro lime cauliflower. 

So, I made dinner, ate dinner, H's friend came over for Survivor and then we watched playoff hockey which is the best hockey, IMO. I accidentally drank my whole bottle of wine and went to bed pretty late so I am Tired with a capital T today. 

Tonight is H's and my weekly sushi date which we missed last week and I've been dying for so I'm reeeeeeeeeeeeeally looking forward to it. I'll probably read (I started my 14th book this morning!) with hockey in the background for the rest of the night after dinner.

Is it tomorrow at 5pm yet?

I'm so happy with my haircut! I definitely slept through my alarm though this morning so I didn't have a whole lot of time to mess with my hair so I look kind of icky today but Idgaf because tomorrow is Friday.

I really want to get my nails done soon because it's starting to become sandal weather and my toes look bad. UGH when is there time?!?!? Maybe I can convince Sean to let me run out of the house on Sunday so I can go do that.

Last night I threw some chicken in a honey hoisin marinade. Tonight I plan to bake that and cook up some rice and use the leftover sauce for the rice and chicken. Should hopefully be good! Then if I get a spare 45 minutes I'll do some Insanity.

@southernpeach89 - Your haircut looks awesome so you should be happy with it! Whenever it decides to get warm here, I'm in dire need of a pedicure. There are definitely still remnants of dark polish on the tips of my big toes from the pedicure I got in Cape Town back at the end of August.

@Swazzle that dinner sounds delicious! I'm not a huge fan of tomato sauce so if I can figure out a way to alter it a bit I might be trying it soon. Re: your book.. What's the count for, this year? If so that's amazing.

@southernpeach89 glad you're happy with your haircut! It really suits you. I almost hate haircuts because I can never make it look the way my hair dresser did the day before and it makes me sad haha

Last night H and I made pasta for dinner and just relaxed.. I should have gotten some knitting done but I didn't. I didn't even make it to cake and beer after work because my brain was so friend from being in one room all day. Tonight we're going to my friend from work's house - he and his boyfriend are cooking us dinner so it should be fun! We're bringing a bottle of wine and a tub of mini chocolate chip cookies from Trader Joe's - that's an acceptable host gift right? They live right down the street from us and it's nice out today so it will be a nice walk to and from tonight.

@Swazzle That looked yummy when you posted the recipe yesterday, I will have to give it a try. Have you done cauliflower rice before? We have seen it but have yet to attempt it.

@SouthernPeach89 Your dinner sounds good too! I hear you on needing a pedicure, although with the weather around here I don't know how soon I need one. My hands and feet are freezing right now! 

I did a little tidying when I got home, then decided that I wanted to read. I've heard/read @TwoDimes and @Swazzle (and maybe others) talking about Pretty Girls so I downloaded it onto my ipad and started reading it last night. So far I'm hooked so we shall see. This is usually the time of year that I read (no holidays and no cheer) so hopefully I can get a few books in.

Also they had the first cheer sign up last night and I have a boy on my team! I started freaking out for a few different reasons. It's so awesome that I have a boy, I'm just nervous about coaching him because I've never coached a boy. Also, it's tricky putting a boy into a routine because you don't want them to be the complete center of attention, but you don't want to ignore them either. I'm so up for the challenge though! Can't wait until August 1st!

@LizzyTish88 I'm reading Pretty Girls too! We need to start a book thread club or something.. So far it's really, really good but I'm reading it slowly because I'm only listening to it while I run. Kinda keeps the suspense going.

@PamBeesly524 - Yes, that's for the year so far! I set my goal at 40 books because last year my goal was 30 and I think I read 32. I don't eat a lot of pasta but this week or so, I've been really craving it! I had butternut squash ravioli with marscapone sauce in Chicago last weekend that was DIVINE. Your hostess gift sounds perfect! 

@caseface- I've never made it BUT I did see at Wegmans recently that they sell the cauliflower already "riced" and I'm lazy and love shortcuts so I'll probably just buy that to try it out! I'm thinking of making this recipe again next week so I'll report back! I loooooooved Pretty Girls. If you like it/like those types of books I can recommend a couple more like it!

@Swazzle that pasta sounds AMAZING.. I'm a huge huge pasta fan but since Christmas I've been trying to tone it down and not eat so much of it - I consider myself fairly healthy but my stomach has always been a problem area and I think it's my carb intake! I can't cut them out completely but I'm seeing how cutting back works - so far, meh.

@LizzyTish88 re: cauliflower rice Trader Joe's sells it too! In the frozen section. It's super convenient though I've only ever used it in soups.

@LizzyTish88 That's great that you have a boy on the team. When I did Pop Warner when I was younger we had a boy one year and he was amazing at the flips and stuff.

So I worked out when I got home last night and then broiled some steak tips. They were edible but I really want that grilled flavor Hopefully we will have a house soon so we can FINALLY grill again! Luckily H is not as picky as I am so I'm sure he'll eat the steak tips today and think they're fine. I had a shake instead, showered, looked at houses and went to bed. 

Yesterday was mine and H's 9 year dating anniversary. We don't usually do gifts and just go out to dinner and get cards. I definitely wasn't expecting a gift this year since our wedding anniversary is in June and that will be the more "important" one but I still got him a card. I love cards. He didn't get me a card and never even called or texted me yesterday although he did reply to a FB post I made. When he came to bed last night at like 3am I woke up to go the bathroom and he was trying to give me a kiss and I told him I was a little upset. He said he figured we'd go out to dinner on Friday since he's off. We were most likely going to do that anyways. I know this isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things I'm just a little annoyed he couldn't find 5 mins to contact me. Just needed to vent!

@southernpeach89 - I adore your hair cut!  It just looks so fresh and clean!  I need my nails done too...I can't reach my toes anymore (lol) and they are starting to looks pretty sad.

@PamBeesly524 - I'd take that as a hosting gift ANY day.

@lizzytish88 - I think that is really exciting to get a boy!

@lavenderfields13 - Ugh, I'm sorry.  We don't celebrate our dating anniversary at all but if you guys do it wasn't very nice of him to forget it altogether.  Hugs.

Yesterday was fun!  I went to the doc and everything is great and I'm feeling really, really blessed because of it.  Min skat's heartbeat was great, my blood pressure was great and the doc said my weight was great (ha! I'm sure she was lying on that one to make me feel better but I've given up the scale at this point).  We then went to the 3D ultrasound place.  It was "interesting"....I don't know that I would do it again in retrospect.  Little Miss was completely uncooperative and either had her hands in front of her face or was playing with her toes in front of her face (which was pretty damn cute) so no good pictures.    Oh well, the mystery will have to continue, right?  Good news is she isn't huge (tech wouldn't tell me how big is "not huge" though...which I was irritated about because I thought they could tell you), she is head down already and my anterior placenta is out of her way for delivery!

Today is a busy day full of bankruptcy stuff.  I have to try to get everything organized for my team before I go on leave.

Good morning, ladies! Last night I had one of my CW/friends (former employees) over for some wine. She brought yummy black bean salsa and we chatted and drank the night away. It was very nice but I'm dragging a bit this morning.

Today I'm hosting a bake sale at work for an organization called Blessings in a Backpack. They provide food on the weekends for kids who get free lunches at school. I started volunteering with them a few months ago and I really love what they do. I was so excited to come into work this morning and see that our treats table was already filling up!



I have literally nothing to do tonight. I'm going to ice my back (it's getting worse instead of better). I'm starting to get a little worried that I'm not going to have time to really train for the half marathon. I was so excited to be doing both crossfit and running, and now I feel like my body is betraying me. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

@cu97tiger - Hmmm, are you going back to the doctor any time soon?  Seems odd that the back is getting worse.  Also, the blessings in the backpack sounds like a really generous use of your free time and a very, very good cause.

@minskat30 Sounds like Ani is doing great! I think it's good that you've given up the scale since your doc thinks you're fine and honestly you look amazing from the pics I've seen so I'm glad you're not letting numbers stress you out!

@lavenderfields13 aaaw! Yea dinner is nice but it would have been nicer if he acknowledge it for 5 seconds during the day. I'm glad you told him because he will hopefully know for next time that would make you happy. And I agree, I just can't eat steak from a stove or oven, needs to have that grill-ness.

@lizzytish88 That'll be a great experience for you as a coach and the girls to have a boy teammate.

I am tired. Sleeping has become miserable. This is probably going to sound crazy and naïve- I expected "discomfort" but not actual pain with pregnancy. You know what I mean, like when you eat too much and you're bloated it's uncomfortable but not actually painful. I didn't expect that each time I roll over at night, it was going to feel like getting stabbed in the back & stomach. My doctor says it's normal, and it's not constant but I'm like WTF. Sorry that's my vent for today.

@lizzytish88 That's so exciting you got a boy! From middle school through high school we had one guy on our team.  He preferred to be in the back because he didn't want to be the focal point.  But it was awesome having the extra strength for more advanced stunts. It also helped tiny me who refused to fly.

@lavenderfields13 - Aww! Happy 9 year dating anniversary! H and I have that coming up in June! I would also be upset if H completely blew it off. I get that it's not a big deal but 9 years is a long time! 

@minskat30 - You and me both! Definitely wasn't the first time and definitely won't be the last! OMG Ani will be here before you know it! 

@cu97tiger - It really wasn't bad, I promise! What an amazing program!

@minskat30 - I haven't been doing much to help my back (i.e. ibuprofen, ice, stretching) so I'm going to try that for a few days, first. I'm also thinking of going to see my chiropractor, since I haven't done that in a long time. I'm glad mini skat is healthy and that your body is doing the things it should to get ready

Thank you everyone for the T&P.  

At the last minute my mom invited us over for dinner.  So I picked up my bf and we went there.  She made salmon with a dill sauce and it was so good.  My youngest sister stopped by, one part of the news she got yesterday was that her cat had kidney failure and there was nothing that could be done to save her.  So she came over after they had put the cat down.  She's kind of on autopilot right now because she's overwhelmed.  Unfortunately the other bad news, isn't going to get better any time soon.  I may take her out this weekend so she has something to keep her distracted. 

Tonight is dinner with my bf's parents.  Since we were out last night, I didn't get to clean like I wanted to, so I'm slipping out of work early so that I can clean like a mad woman before they come over.  My bf said to let him know when I'm on my way so he can rush home too and it'll be a team effort.  After they leave hopefully I have enough energy to stretch and do some yoga.

Good morning. I am currently drinking a triple latte this morning so I'm starting to feel more awake by the minute! Last night H and I walked around our house to asses the damage from the hail. A few broken windows but nothing that can't be repaired. We were kind of amazed that the cheap little outdoor table we had gotten from HEB was still fully intact. We did some sweeping and clean-up outside then H got on the roof to check it out. I don't know much about roofs but it looks a little rough. No holes or leaks though. H patched a vent on the roof for now and we'll wait for the professionals to do the rest. After that, we ordered Chinese food and went to bed. Since H is still without a car, he is using mine. So I'm praying today he'll get off work early and be able to come pick me up on time. Otherwise it looks like I may be stuck at work for an extra hour.

This morning we have a plumber at our house doing some work in the master bathroom. We had wanted him to do the fixture for the tub since it was going to take some welding work but his quote was CRAZY soooo we stuck with just the shower and the shower drain for now. Ugh. Luckily we don't have to have the tub fixtures done before tile work next week so I guess I'm ok with this hopefully minor delay.

Tonight the plan is to remove the tile from around the tub and that's pretty much all we have to do until Sunday night when we take out the toilet. We're leaving that til last minute because it's stinky! At some point this weekend we'll go shopping for some of the materials our contractor will need and then we'll be ready!!

Not a huge amount. Matt's finally starting to feel better. We didn't end up making dinner and just ordered Chinese food {yay leftovers today!} I had such a headache and I'm not sure if it's allergy related, but it wouldn't surprise me. I lay down for a bit until food got there and downed a bunch of water with a sinus pill, so that helped a bit. I managed to throw laundry in and vacuum.

We're going to see a house on Saturday, and it'll be interesting because it's in the same neighbourhood as I use to live in. Actually it's a few rows back. It's a good area, but it'll be weird if we buy.

Tonight is groceries and baking. My granny is making my egg salad so I promised I'd make her muffins. Banana and maple, yum! I wanted her to teach me, but she's busy this weekend. She promised to show me another day at least. My dad taught her how to make it and it's really good, so best way to learn!

I think this weekend we might be going to Matt's buddy's place for a bonfire since it's not suppose to be as cold anymore. {great weather this weekend! So excited!}


Side note: my tax refund came in so I was able to toss majority of it into savings and I'm keeping a small portion for myself Mum and I are going out next weekend, so I want some extra cash.

@beachyone15 OMG! That all looks so scary! I'm so glad neither of you were injured and that the damage wasn't worse! Hopefully the insurance adjuster comes up with a good amount to cover all the fixes.

We became "official" on Friday the 13 so it's hard to forget and we always say "happy 13th" to each other every month because we're weird like that. I left a card out for him the night before so he definitely didn't forget the day. The more I think about it the sillier I feel. I was just feeling a little emotional yesterday. As long as he doesn't forget our wedding anniversary we're good lol. Which is also on the 13th of June.
