Ugh.. Monday

Good morning fellow NEY-ers. Getting out of bed and getting to work this morning was so tough because BF and Tessie are home snuggling on the couch and I have to work

Friday night we went to our neighbors so Tess could have a playdate with their two boxers. After that we went home, dropped off Tess, and got ready. We went out with our neighbors and other friends to the waterfront. It was a fun night.

Saturday we met up with our neighbors again and another couple and we went to the zoo! It was so much fun! It was kind of crowded because it was a free day for RI residents, but it didn't really hinder us at all. They had an area where you can go in and feed/pet/brush goats and I think that was our favorite. After that we stopped at BBW for lunch and then continued to go home and chill out for the night.

Yesterday we did a ton of stuff around the house. We cleaned and ran errands, and we started on our gallery wall finally! We only got two rows down, but I am loving it already. BF said he might work on it today so I guess I'll find out when I get home. 

This week is weird for me, I have Wednesday off to spend with BF and Friday I have a seminar out of office, so I will only be here three days and I can't wait! I want this week to fly because next week is my birthday!

@LizzyTish88 Sounds like you had a great weekend! I'm jealous that you got to pet the goats.

My weekend went by super fast. Friday H and I were exhausted so we hung out and watched corny movies and ate dinner and popcorn. Saturday I tried to run 7 miles but only made it 4 - it was ridiculously humid and I think my legs were exhausted. That afternoon I went to my cousin's for our girls night -we had a ton of good food and fun. Her new puppy is adorable! I'll try to post a pic or two later but I didn't get many - he rarely stopped moving. Yesterday I did absolutely nothing.. It poured rain most of the day so that wasn't very motivating.

Hoping today goes by fast but we'll see. I'm going out to lunch with my team so at least I'll get to go outside for a bit. I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning! How do the weekends always go by so fast??
Friday H and I went to go see My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, which was surprisingly REALLY good. I'm not usually impressed by sequels but this one I liked.
Saturday we ran some errands, nothing too exciting.
Sunday I met BFF for brunch and we spent some time at the pool. Then H and I went to our friend's 4-year olds birthday party which was a lot of fun. Barbie-themed with pizza, cake, and a mini homemade photo booth. Everything her mom made was so cute and I hope I'm that crafty/have that much energy to put into my children's birthday parties someday!

@LizzyTish88 - Looking forward to seeing the gallery wall! Birthday plans?

I am tired and cranky AF. I saw Beyonce in Philly last night and didn't get home until 2:30 am. My alarm went off at 5 for work. 

There's not enough coffee in the world.

@swazzle - I saw your video clip and am SO JEALOUS. I hope it was worth it, though!

I had a phenomenal weekend with my girlfriends. All 10 of us were together for the first time since 2000. We just talked and laughed and drank the weekend away. It was really good for my soul.

Especially since Friday afternoon I found out that our IVF cycle was not successful. It felt like a double whammy because that morning, I had gotten a (false) positive home pregnancy test. For 5 hours, I thought it had worked. I'm devastated, but trying to focus on the blessings that I have in my life, which are too numerous to count.

Also, hearing some of the things my friends have been going through in the last year (divorces, marriage problems, etc) made me realize that everyone has stuff they have to deal with... no one's life is exactly how they would want it, and this is my 'cross to bear'. I know life will go on and H and I will be just fine.

ETA: I know you all support me, but please don't tag me today to let me know that you're sad for me. I'm sure you understand and I can already feel the love you're sending!!

@swazzle - I know your pain. H and I went to a Third Eye Blind concert not too long ago that was on a weeknight. It was all standing only too (on concrete). The next morning we were like....BUT WHY?!!!!! Plus we were in pain. Never again.

@Swazzle Ugh I don't know how you're going to make it through today but I am so glad you got to the concert anyway!!

@PamBeesly524 Sometimes you gotta listen to your body even though it sucks that you didn't make your planned run for the day.

My office building's A/C is down this morning so I'm WFH for a little while while they get it fixed. I tried to go in this morning even knowing it was down because I figured the building would be semi cool...NOPE it was like 80 in there so I'm enjoying the A/C at home for the time being and then I will try again later once their system is back up and running.

This weekend was pretty blah. The weather sucked so we didn't get any chores done outside the house and our yard is starting to look like a jungle. We went grocery shopping yesterday and then H and I spent the rest of the afternoon cooking up chicken and veggies for lunches this week. I ended up having to buy a new bra yesterday too which is always traumatizing. I hate hate hate bra shopping...all it does is remind me that gravity is working more and more on my boobs and I can't wear any of the fun bras ever.

@cu97tiger - That dress is GORGEOUS. That color is just absolutely stunning on you! 

Saturday was productive - H & I did yard work and cleaned up around the house. We'd been neglecting the flower beds & such, so there was a lot of weed pulling, mowing, trimming, cutting, etc. We were having friends over that evening, so I went and picked up some more tiki torches, two more Adirondack chairs for around the fire pit, a little table to go outside, and some solar lights. 

Our friends came over for dinner, so we grilled and sat outside around the fire. I had picked up BiteFighter tiki torch fuel, and it worked like a charm! No bugs at all! 

Yesterday H & I were going to do more yardwork - I want to get more mulch and redo our front walkway, as well as a new bush/shrub for the front of the house - but it was rainy and gross all day, so we were lazy and everyone laid on the couch all day.

We watched the whole new Roots miniseries, and it was AMAZING. Really hard to watch, and pretty emotional, but I think everyone should have to watch it. It amazes me how so much time has gone by, and some of these same attitudes still exist. Heartbreaking, really. 

Now back to work. UGH, Mondays. I'm only in the office half the day on Thursday & off Friday though, because I'm heading out to Boston for an awards ceremony, then staying with my BIL & SIL and going to CT on Friday because SIL's baby shower is Saturday! WEEEE!!

@GoldenPenguin I will AW it when it's done. Should be before the end of the week hopefully. Your backyard sounds awesome! That is one of our projects that we are hoping to do before July 4th. BF might even start on it this weekend!

So Friday both Matt and I took off so we could get an early start on our 6hr drive. Wasn't bad, we ended up stopping twice on way there.
We went because Matt's childhood friend's oldest daughter was turning 4, and we couldn't go for her younger back in March. Plus we try to see each other at least once a year {she has family still here}

I basically had an attachment all weekend It was great. We played barbies, and coloured {toy} cupcakes. The youngest had an all-mighty melt down Saturday night, but she's getting the 2yr old molars plus being outside all day. She was exhausted. Then the older one started fighting about everything.
Early night for both kids lol

Sunday we drove home and I was so exhausted! Not sure if everyone else has this issue, but at someone else's place I don't sleep well. I'll sleep but never falling deep enough to feel rested. By the time we got home, I was completely done.

This week is basically cleaning and packing. We got more tape and bubble wrap, so time to do the fragile things!!

Monday, you came way too fast. At least I can WFH on Mondays now, so that's nice.

This weekend was nice and quiet. On Friday, I don't think we did anything at all. I don't remember much about it, so it must have been uneventful. On Saturday we deep cleaned the entire apartment. It took all day, and all the fumes and dust gave me a headache, but the apartment looks SO GOOD now! Saturday night we went to see Me Before You, which was good but no where near as good as the book.

Yesterday we went to a nearby casino in Oklahoma with H's family and had lunch with H's older brother. After lunch we taught MIL how to gamble on the slots, and then we all went for ice cream. After they dropped us off, H and I vegged for a bit, and then around 10pm our friend came over to watch GOT. 

Today will be craaaaazy busy at work, and I need to fit in a trip to the grocery store and the gym at some point. @audrewuh is coming over tonight to sew.

There is apparently a terror threat against upscale shopping centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town from Isis. My boyfriend lives right near the v&a in Cape Town which is the upscale shopping centre. I hope nothing happens and it doesn't pan out. May be irrational to worry but I am!

Friday night H had gaming. I finished the scarf for my mom and cast on a prayer shawl.

Saturday H and I did some organizing work in the yarn closet. The yarn is all living there now, and we found all the knitting needles and crochet hooks. I also ordered some cases for them so that they'll be easier to locate in the future.

Sunday looked like Saturday - more organizing and cleaning. Mostly organizing. And we did 5 loads of laundry.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate it. They said during Ramadan which is a whole month so I will probably be worried all month. I really hope nothing happens. 1) that place is too beautiful to damage and 2) no other lives need to be taken from senselessness.

@eilis1228 & @KeptInStitches - Yea, I wouldn't say I "enjoyed" it, ha. It's definitely powerful, and I think everyone should watch it, but it definitely wasn't "enjoyable." Eye-opening, for sure. 

@DreamReve1 - I really hope nothing happens, that's terrifying. I really hate the world these days

@GoldenPenguin I'm jelly of your yard! I can't wait for my patio to get put in, but it feels like I'll be waiting FOREVER. 

My weekend was LAZY and the weather was crap so I don't feel bad about it. Friday night I sat on my couch and colored and watched tv. Saturday I did the same until evening when I decided to select outfits for the conference I'm going to later this week and put on my running blade to make sure it works/fits. Good thing I did because I found out I completely blew out the knee, so hopefully I have time to get it replaced before I leave. Amputee probz, yo. 

Sunday was Symphony Sunday, an annual event where the WV Symphony (and other groups) plays for free on the University lawn. It's a huge event every year. The weather looked like it was going to be crap, but the sky ended up clearing midday. BF and I got there around 5 and found a big open spot to throw down a huge blanket and a couple chairs and some friends joined us and threw down additional blankets and chairs so we had a great group and plenty of space. We had wine and a cheese platter (which was AMAZING) to enjoy throughout the event. The music was great and there were fireworks at the end, which is my favorite part. 

This week is short for me, I'm leaving early on Wednesday to head to a conference (for amputees). I'm really excited about it! There will be a photoshoot, tons of fun adaptive activities (rock climbing, crossfit, yoga, running) and apparently the booth I will be hanging out/working at is going to have a photobooth with props and everything. So pumped! Plus I get to see my conference pals. I saw a lot of these people in March, but some I haven't seen since last July.
