Floral Bridesmaids Dresses

We're having an outdoor ceremony in a beautiful garden of white roses and our ceremony will be in a marquis tent. Our main colours will be a soft lilac-y purple with green touches just from the natural greenness of outside, and possibly some grey details.

I was hoping to find floral dresses for my girls to wear but the few places I've seen them they are either bright oranges and purples or they are the classic-Grandma's-couch-floral print. We'd like tones that match our colour scheme but understand that a floral pattern will generally have a mixture of colours.

Does anyone have any recommendations of stores where I could find some unique simple floral dresses? I live in the Toronto, ON area.

Edit: I'm adding this photo of dresses I have found online and quite like. They're from a site called "Show Me Your Mumu" (ugh that name). I am super afraid to order things online though!!

What is your bridesmaids' budget for their dress? Are they okay with the idea of a floral print?

Mod Cloth has a few floral options like this one.

There's this floral-like option from Kohls. Or this one (also Kohls).

This one from Macy's might be too bright. But this one in Guava might work. And this one is definitely got the purple tones.

I think with what you are looking for, it might be best to NOT think bridesmaids dress - look at the stores you and your group might consider for a special occasion dress.

I'd try to find something that everyone can try on locally, or shop from a store with a good return policy. Not all prints are created equal, and it can be hard to find one print that looks good on all body types and with all hair/skin combos.

@JaxInBlue I must be too picky because none of those are what I'm looking for. Thank you for helping though, I'm beginning to think what I like doesn't exist. Also, we don't have Macy's or Kohl's in Canada and like you said, I would like them to try them on and see how they suit each person. I'll keep on searching though, I still have lots of time till the wedding

@katsandtatts If floral is proving more troubling for the full dress, would you consider switching it up a little and trying something like a solid print dress with a floral embellishment? You might have a lot more to choose from if you think about a base dress in lilac or grey (both great colors, btw) and then use a shawl or wrap or belt to tie in the floral element.

Allure Bridesmaids makes a lot of beautiful floral prints. We found a store that carries them locally and went to try them on - I loved all the prints

BHLDN has some nice floral choices, but they don't have any Canada stores.

You'd have to make a long trip to NY, or you can order online. I heard they have a really good return policy though if you wanted to order dresses and send them back.

I second the suggestion to look at non-bridal stores. I know you're hesitant to order online, but ModCloth has a ton of floral dresses, and they constantly add new selections. Here's a sampling:

A friend of mines daughter got her bridesmaids dresses at JCrew. They were a beautiful flora and offered different styles in the same print. I know JCrew can be pretty expensive though. This wedding was 7-8 years ago.

@ILoveBeachMusic I went to look at the JCrew website and found a dress that we all love but sooo expensive! We're hoping it'll maybe go on sale near the end of the summer, thanks for pointing me that way!

Definitely check for end-of-summer sales if that's an option. When is your wedding?

@justsie None of them have given me a firm number and they keep saying they're open to whatever I want, but I'm sure that will change. Regardless though, I don't want them to spend a lot either! I feel like under $200 is reasonable, but the lower the better

@OurWildKingdom Our wedding isn't until next summer so we have toooons of time!

I second (or third?) Modcloth... My bridesmaid's got their dresses there. I don't think it's available anymore but it was affordable. They have a ton of cute party dresses that could pass as "non-traditional" bridesmaid's dresses. I know you said you were hesitant to buy online but they are a super reputable online store!

BHLDN has some GORGEOUS floral bridesmaid dresses that I was drooling over. In my dream world where money is not finite, we totally would have gone with these... but in real life where cost was a factor, $300 a pop was a bit too steep. If you've got deeper pockets than me and my bridesmaids do, they might be just the thing!
