I don't know. He'll get a retention bonus (we know the amount) and he'll get a signing bonus (unknown, but protected under the agreement).  He's guaranteed a job, but nobody knows what it's going to be like.  The new ownership is actually two companies- one Canadian and one French.  There are so many unknowns.  What we do know is our house would sell in a hot minute and we'd make a tidy profit.  We're mobile, but I DON'T WANNA!!!

Typically Canadians don't buy in the states to move to Canada, so I'd be surprised.

Oh the job won't move (it's a power plant).  We just may move if the new company sucks and he can't find anything else here.

Hi all!

So FW and I settled on Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend as our wedding date. I posted about our plans in Etiquette; I welcome your insights. We're talking about having the wedding at our house and a brunch reception afterwards.

As for the weekend: 

Tonight is our meeting. Tomorrow I'm helping deliver food bags to an apartment building, doing errands and laundry, and meeting with my sponsor. Tomorrow night FW and I are going to the film festival. Sunday, I'm helping a friend pack for her upcoming move and taking Mutt to the park.

My house has been invaded by a herd of children and teenagers, so I am hiding in my room with pizza and reading materials.  Friday nights just aren't what they used to be

@kimmiinthemitten, haha no thank god!  We're here for a while, we think.  What I meant was the last two times we found out we were moving, we had JUST hung the curtains in our current place.  So DH won't hang them here because he doesn't want to move again.
