Preowned wedding dresses

anyone bought/sold a preowned dress? I have an un-altered/in-worn beautiful dress I bought for my wedding to my ex. We called off the wedding before and alterations were made and it's been hanging in a closet for 3 years.  Seems like a shame for such a pretty dress to go un-used, but I'm not sure I want to wear it in my wedding to my fiancé...It was a horrible breakup and I kind of want a fresh start.

Thoughts? I wouldn't be looking to recoup full price, but would like to get something for it.  Also considering whether to buy used this time, after the last dress went un-worn and we lost most of what my family spent on the first wedding, I'm hesitant to spend that kind of money again this time around.

Do you have a bridal consignment shop in your area? That could be a good means of selling it without too much hassle.

There are bridal consignment shops in many areas.  Otherwise Ebay! May be your best bet since you can list the designer, style, etc.  Or, many charities will accept it as a donation.

There are websites you could sell your dress on - preownedweddingdresses.com and tradsey.com are two big ones that come to mind.

You can also donate it if that's your thing.

I don't know what your tax situation is, but if you donate the dress, you can write off the cost of the dress, since it is new and unaltered.
