I usually carry a purse just big enough for a wallet, phone, keys, small first aid kit and 2 tampons. However, I need to start carrying something that will fit 2 composition books and a 17" laptop a few times a month (in other word it won't take a beating). I don't want huge. I don't want some big print. I don't want a basic black utilitarian look. I would like it to be cheap and preferably from amazon. Any recs?

this may suit, except basic black^
this is pretty, but probably wouldn't hold your purse:

My current is something like this - but it was customized by my company for the leadership program that I did last year. I would recommend the Swiss Gear from a durability standpoint. I use this daily and for travel.:

I don't even care much about the purse. A lot of times I'll walk out with my keys and nothing else.
I do like that second one.
