Woeful Wednesday

How's everyone today?

The house deal is off. The buyer is out because there are problems with her finances* so she's out. A week and a half before we were supposed to close. After we make, and paid for, all the changes she wanted. I'm pissed. H is pissed. This sucks.

*TLDR; The buyer's sister was paying the down payment for the house. The sister wrote a gift letter, but when the lender had to determine the source of the funds the sister wouldn't disclose the source. Under the Patriot Act lenders are required to verify the source because terrorism. So this sister wouldn't disclose so the buyer was denied, even though she had a preapproval for more than the sale amount. Everything sucks.

  • He's just way too cute @mrsconn23! Love the glasses.

I think everyone should post kids/pets pictures to make me feel better today.
  • I'm so sorry @charlotte989875.   It sounds like they were a nightmare from the start.   My fingers are crossed that there's a Christmas buyer for you!
  • @charlotte989875 I'm sorry! That really really sucks!!!!

@mrsconn23 love the pic! His glasses are great!

I'm still in a funk today, but less of a funk than I have been in for the past week, so progress?

In today's TMI, my cortisone shot from last week has caused a drastic drop in my milk production, so I had to dig into freezer stash to send with Babypants to school this morning. I hate dipping into freezer stash. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this drop is temporary because I'm not ready to stop breastfeeding just yet.

Tonight my team has a team dinner at one of my favorite (and super pricey) restaurants downtown. But I'm blowing it off because I'm feeling burned out work-wise. I definitely could use the night out (I ended up blowing off my neighborhood mom's outing last week because I was in a funk), but I just don't feel up to hanging out with work peeps after-hours lately. Hell, I see them more than I see H, Babypants, and the puppy.
  • @charlotte989875 that sucks royally. Couldn't the sister have just transfered the money to the buyer's bank account and then buyer paid that way?

    @mrsconn23 too cute

Last night my H discovered someone cut a wire on our Christmas lights. Like wtf people who does that. He looked at the security cameras but didn't see anything but that area isn't in view of a camera but it would have caught someone walking up the yard unless it came from 1 direction so that is the best guess. Luckily he can do some electrical work and was able to somehow fix it but of course he's pissed

@sparklepants, can you try to increase milk production with extra pumpings and eating foods that promote breast milk?

I believe oats, raw almonds, beer, fenugreek and some teas can help.

The fact that you HAVE a freezer stash is great.     This may be just a blip.

If you haven't seen a return of fertility yet you may also experience a dip with that too and those foods along with extra time can help things.
  • @charlotte989875 what kind of idiot is the sister?  H and I did the same thing when we bought our house since we put everything in his name. When I got the check from my bank, they told me I'd have to include a letter and the whole check paper, not the check itself. Our lender also gave us a sample letter to use. I'm sorry. That beyond sucks. Bourbon for all of you!

@mrsconn23 for real, he's too cute.

Today is my 12 hour day, 14 if you include drive time, which I do:). I had a walk thru for a new contract venue at 9, a lunch drop off at 3, and a holiday event that goes until 9 tonight. Right now, I'm getting my oil changed and Knotting.

Last nights meeting went well if you ask me and scared the hell out of H. Basically, he could win, has the parties support as long as he meets his door knocking and fundraising goals, and the literal crazy person who has the office now isn't going to be challenged which is all the better for my all-American-nice- guy-next-door husband in a general runoff. But he can't coach baseball this spring which set him into an emotional tail spin, and I can't lie, I was really, you may not do this for a 13 year old baseball team?  He brought the numbers and timeline to work and is reviewing them on his lunch and prep. I think last night it just turned from an idea to a real thing and he freaked out. Oh boys.

Thank you - I've been trying to do extra pumpings, but it's hard during the workday. I will definitely start eating some of those foods! I have a jar of raw almonds in my office, but didn't realize they were good for milk as well. And if having a beer will help too, well I guess I'll just have to have one ;)

    Thank you for the tip!!

I guess with every major deposit in the months leading up to the sale you have to document the reason and source of the funds. So she'd not only have to show it was from her sister, but where her sister got the money from. The sister refused to disclose where she got the money from.

@charlotte989875 what kind of idiot is the sister?  H and I did the same thing when we bought our house since we put everything in his name. My thoughts exactly. At the very least her agent or lender is terrible for not fully explaining it to her/her sister in the first place. To be fair we think the sister is either not living in the country, or not here full-time, and our agent said there have been some language barriers so maybe that's accounting for some of the confusion? But really this is all on them and it sucks. All the bourbon.
  • Love the excitement @kimmiinthemitten, she's adorable!
  • @charlotte989875, so sorry that happened! I didnt know they had to disclose where the gift is coming from! Kinda makes you wonder why she can't say though....? Maybe a blessing in disguise as someone will come along and pay thee asking price for it?
@mrsconn23, what a cutie! all bundled up ready for this great weather.
@sparklepants41, sorry you don't feel like hanging out. You know, I'd rather go to a chilis, friday's, applebees than a fancy restaurant.  Always have!

ugh.  Yesterday I dropped off my car because the bumper was lose and a censor cap fell off from when I was driving on the highway a few months ago.  You know those tires that trucks leave on the highway after they blow out?  Well I was driving and a truck in front of me picked up a tire and it flung into my car with no warning (and I wasn't riding his ass or anything) so the tire hit my car and popped out the censor cap and loosened the bumper.   Of course that's not under warranty and my deducible didn't cover the cost to fix it, so I paid out of pocket (really great time for that!).  It was supposed to be $175 but apparently they used the same clips and it was only $155 when I went to pay.

He said it would cost me $50 to have it painted....but I said nope. no paint.  When I picked it up the guy was like "you know, it may not need paint. You cant really tell. Only if you were looking for it would you be able to tell".  He was talking about spending $50 on painting the tiny cover! On the phone I thought he meant that cost was for the bumper!  The cap comes black and to match the paint it would have been $50...he even said under his breath "or you could go to a body shop" meaning if I ever wanted it painted to go to the body shop.   Anyway my car is a dark dark grey almost black anyway so he's right.  You really can't tell.

Here's a cx5, but you get the picture.  that little circle thingy!

  • @charlotte989875 I'd be pissed too. When we were looking at houses and had a potential offer for our current, the only changes that were made were things that the inspector requested and another inspector would as well, so they did it.
All the other things? Nope. Nothing else done until official offer. Is there a way your agent can tell their agent that was a rude thing to do?
I'll post a photo at lunch hour of my critters for you :)

    @mrsconn23 that grin!!

@sparklepants41 Damn ... is that typical for production to drop? Idk anyone who had cortisone shot while breastfeeding.
Yes. You deserve a night out. It might help your funk. Boo to being in a funk :(

Last night was a whole lot of not much. I went through one xmas box and discovered all our stored bags were there. I put other stuff {hallowe'en & fall shit} in that box, but I'm not sure I'm sold on it being there since the plastic fence is sticking out .... I may pull it out in spring and put it back in my front yard. It's suppose to be for hallowe'en, but also debating on changing the colour.
Has anyone repainted/sprayed plastic fences? Is it doable?

Anyways .... we also did groceries. At the store M hates because they don't bag. You feel super pressured to shove everything in your bags because people are around. It's a miracle nothing got crushed! But they had great deals ....

Today a friend of mine that was sick and passed away 6 years ago would have been 33yrs old.
It sucks and I wanna find a way to disable some bday notifications on my fb ... I don't need a reminder. *sigh*

Tonight M is getting the impact gun to do his tires, and I'm picking up paint samples for DIY project I'll be doing over the holidays.
I'm starting to make a kitchen command center. I feel like we have things all over the kitchen/house and I wanna streamline it, but have space to expand/change as needed.
Oh we had an official, signed offer. And an updated offer, again signed, after the inspection. We wouldn't have fixed anything without it. The buyer also asked for their deposit (earnest money) back, but we're probably going to fight it.

I'm sorry about the reminder of your friend. Thank sucks.
  • @charlotte989875 I would fight it because it was all set to go through .... damn!

  • @charlotte989875 damn them!!

In my real estate saga, I got my keys today. First the front gate and the front door keys don’t work. But the doors were locked open so I could get in. It was fucking filthy. Then I spent another hour sitting in the management office waiting to talk to someone. I gave them back the keys, they will do a “soft clean” tomorrow morning, whatever that is and then I will get working keys back tomorrow afternoon.

@kimmiinthemitten, she is SO SO SO excited! LOL love it

@charlotte989875, I remember when I was purchasing my house, I had loaned my fiance (now H) some money for a car.  He had the money but couldn't take it out of the bank that day and needed to purchase it that day.  So I loaned him the money, he gave it back to me a few days later.  I deposited it back into my bank.

You would have have thought I did some awful offshore money laundering according the bank. I had to write a letter too - which I get, but they needed all the back up and stuff. Um it was MY money to begin with.  First time home purchaser so i had no idea the money was monitored the way it is!

DH will be getting a loan from my parents for the condo.  He's paying it back but I hope "recruitment funds" is good enough for the bank if they ask where my parents are getting it from!

again, so sorry it fell through. So shitty!

edit: recruitment?  that was retirement savings! LOL

  • @charlotte98975 it's called earnest money for a reason, and her inability to meet financial standards means a giant hell to the no!

  • Party 2 of 5 down for the week.  Last night is one of my favorite nights of the year.  My moms ministry hosts a group of 250 women.  The speaker was FANTASTIC.  Oh so good, but it's oh so much work.  I'm tired.  I've got 31 tablecloths to wash and fold today on top of normal life

Friday night is CEO Christmas party. Saturday M2 is going to a party and Sunday is Max's party.  I need to get organized- clean, make a menu, shop, all that shit.
