Hanna Andersoon sales make their products affordable.   The pajama sales and end of season sales are great.   The quality of their long johns is fantastic and superior to most I've seen for kids.

I've bought the grandsons Hanna Anderson pajamas after Christmas for the next Christmas. I love them as does their Mom! Their slipper socks are the best. DD and her family don't wear shoes in the house so they (the boys) need non-skid socks that stay on. I even bought myself of the Scandinavian pattern this year. I haven't bought them anything else though.

even their PJ sales are too pricey for me lol. I did get a pair of their cute Christmas PJs on marketplace so I know they hold up really well but still don't want to pay even $20 for a pair of PJs
  • My odd and funny realization for the day.

When I look in the mirror, I have always been pleased with the proportions of my face in relation to each other.  I've counted that as one of my blessings.  For example, being unhappy with one's nose seems like a common complaint, but I like mine.

But in the new era of wearing a neck gaiter at work, so I can pull it up and down to be a mask, I do NOT have the right face proportions for that, lol.

If I pull it high enough to adequately cover my nose with the inside filter pocket, the fabric ends up sitting under my glasses frame.  Which makes them precarious and prone to sliding down.  Oh, nose and eyes, I wish I could temporarily pull you a little further apart from each other.  Just until the pandemic is over, lol.

  • Kiddo clothing suggested by my mom group
    - Hanna Aanderson
    - Cat & Jack
    - Old Navy
    - Gap
Old Navy is pretty much the foundation of DefConn's wardrobe.  Also, they're the only brand that has decent words on shirts (like "surf's up" or "cool vibes", etc).  You can also find a decent selection of shirts with no words on them, just pictures.  Also, their jeans hold up to a lot of wear and tear.  I buy ahead for DefConn all the time from the clearance section and you can get good deals with ON cash and whatnot.  The only thing is that their shirts can run small, so I have to size up shirts for him before I do pants.  He loves ON hoodies.  His most favorite one was this dark grey hoodie that was in the 'uniform' category.  It had nothing on it and since it was considered uniform, it was cheap.

The only thing about ON is that I found the baby clothes sizing is all over the map.  DefConn grew out of 'his' size super fast.  But I also swore by Carters when he was a baby because it always fit him the best.

We've gotten some Cat and Jack stuff.  I've liked it as well and it's pretty true to size.  Their policy of free replacement for ruined clothing is pretty sweet as well.

all our favorites for the last 5 months have been cat and jack from Target.  They fit well, good fabric, has held up to washing a ton, and doesn't stretch out.  Most of his clothes have been second hand though from FB/thirft stores.  Mostly Carters and oshkosh which have also been great.

Hanna Andersen is adorable but IMO is way too overpriced even for sales. Maybe when the babe is a little bigger and wears the same size for longer.

I also really like Oshkosh when they have sales.

FWIW, my kids are slender so one of the biggest criteria for pants is the ability to adjust the waist manually.   For those without kids or who haven't seen this yet:

-Clothing companies are dicks.   They routinely make fake ties for pants that do nothing but dangle and do not tighten.   I cannot tell you how many pairs of pants or shorts DS has been gifted that fall off him.   If your kid is slender watch out.

    -Sizing is funky.

    -Shop the sales.
    Exactly.  The worst.

Bolded. So much. BabyKitten is a tiny girl {barely into 18m at 2yrs old} and some places the 18m just SUCKS
Also if all brands could get on the same page of the sizing, that'd be great. I wouldn't have to compare EACH AND EVERY CLOTHING ITEM AGAINST THE ONES THAT FIT
    That'd be great ....

One last thing on kid clothes - I love how all of baby B's clothes have pockets and I can barely find pants or shorts with pockets for me. What does a 2 or 3 year old need with pockets?!?!

It's to hold the crayons, rocks and wood chips that go in the washing mashine.
    ......duh.
And when he's slightly older, hotwheel cars and nerf darts.  LOL

The other day I washed Grapes, quartered of course. 😒
My laundry usually has beautifully cleaned and shined pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters from my "child", aka my 55-year-old H's pockets, lol.

Sometimes there are even bonus money bills in there.  I appreciate that our country uses such strong currency paper, almost more the ingredients of fabric, so that it does not disintegrate or fade away much when in water for a short time, lol.

I happily turn my kids' shirts right-side-in, untangle their undies from their pants, unbunch their socks before they go through the wash, etc. but H's clothes go into the washing machine exactly how they were thrown into the hamper :p

I've started doing a thorough pocket search after a playdoh incident.
  • When my kids were little they really didn't put stuff in their pockets. However, when they were teenagers and left money in their pockets, I claimed whatever came out in the wash! Once it was a $20 bill. I don't think that happened again. LOL.

I have been doing this since I was a teenager. My dad later told us that he left money (mostly quarters) in his pockets for us, lol. Finders keepers.
