Fake Cake?!

Has anyone seen or had a fake cake?! I am actually considering getting one of these fake cakes to save money! I would like your opinion on this if you have had one or know of anyone that has!!!

I have seen bakers cover styrofoam rather than an actual cake, but never a cake rental.

My husband's groom cake was actually mostly styrofoam. Only the top portion was cake because we didn't need that much cake.

I wanted a taller cake so my whole bottom layer was fake - no one was the wiser you could not even tell

I've heard with the fake cakes, you have one layer that is real so that you can do the obligatory cake cutting pictures. Then your catering staff takes the fake cake to the back and cuts up a sheet cake behind the scenes so your guest dont see. And it's cheaper! I think it's a great idea!

Any bakery should be able to do it. If they do your real cake, they can do a fake one.

I dont think that she does the fake cakes but she does really good real cakes and she is not expensive at all.  I had some guests tell me that it was the best wedding cake they tasted.  Her email is thondagriffin1955@yahoo.com.  You should give her a try.
