Whew!  I'm still recovering from this weekend.  Friday night, one of my other dear friends from college came into town.  I didn't think we were going to be able to connect, but she ditched her family reunion for us all to go out.  Saturday night I went out of town with some friends to see other friends drag show. We had an absolute blast at the club we were at.  I didn't get back to the hotel until 4 am.  I'm still recovering today.  I think I have a full on midlife crisis going on, but I'm having fun, so....?

Otherwise, back to the grind at work.  I have to F/U on some job apps and my book is on it's way.

Weekend was good. BK finally caught on about potty training. I'd say she's like 75% trained. She's still holding it I think, but she's stopped holding out on drinks and saying "sit potty" then going to sit, dropping shorts/undies and using it.

But she is still going number 2 in her undies, but I say it's half win because some kids don't do it outside their diaper.
We just need to catch her before she goes to hide behind the curtains {her spot to do it}

We did have a successful trip the park by our place. Since we can see the house, we left the backdoor unlocked in case we couldn't make it around front.

Otherwise nothing new. BK discovered her paints I got her so we also did some painting on the weekend.

Weekend was a mixed bag. 

The good: We had a nice time at my sister's Friday.  Strawberry sake is amazing, LOL.  Saturday we had a great boating day for the most part.  Yesterday, we had a low-key day around the house. I made the most delicious pico de gallo and I also steeped some watermelon in tequila for funsies.  Farm stands are the freaking best.  This year's crop of sweet corn is fire. 

The meh: DH is on the career struggle bus fully.  He's so pissed about how the end of this contract is being handled and he's also having a bit of a confidence crisis.  Trying to help him feel validated and motivated at the same time.  The kids were on one Saturday on the boat, so they were extra annoying.  We also got caught in a fast moving thunderstorm on the boat.  It was crazy and a little dicey for a few.  And my sister and BIL didn't get the result they were hoping for in court, but it was mostly technical errors and the judge has rescheduled the next hearing for just a couple months from now.

BIL's dad is still hanging in there, but it's very heart-breaking and tough.  DH and the kids went to their house to mow their lawn for them yesterday. 

I'm off early to take DefConn to the eye specialist.  Fingers x'd he's still improving. 

School starts Thursday.  What the what?

@VarunaTT, I'm glad you had a fun weekend.  If that is what a mid-life crisis looks like, perhaps I need to start one also, lol.

My H has been reading through the book that is geared toward getting his tour guide license.  He has really been enjoying it, so I've been glad to see his "studying" has been fun for him.  Plus that's kept him motivated to read it and I think he is almost done with it.

We have big news!  We booked our hotel stay for Honolulu, Hawaii next year!  It's currently booked for mid-Feb., though I might move it to the end of Nov. (this year).  The hotel rates are great right now.

We are going for one week and also added in a few days to visit my family in CA.  I haven't booked flights yet, since those can't be cancelled/changed.  But I already looked at the pricing/logistics.  It makes no sense, but it's cheaper and better times if I book each leg of the trip separately, instead of trying to set it up as a "multi-city" trip.  Go figure!  It works out best to go from NOLA to HI first, then spend a few days in CA at the end of the trip.  But that NOLA-->HI flight is brutal!  It's either leave ridiculously early in the morning to arrive in HI on the same day or arrive in HI the next morning.  And that's the time change working with us.  

But we had fun this weekend planning what we are going to do and scoping out restaurants.  My mom is originally from HI and I love the food.  I was excited to see dishes in restaurants that I've rarely had since I moved away from her.

Desperately dreaming of the day I’m divorced and STBXH has to leave.  He goes out of his way to give me a hard time, day in and day out.  At the very least late August so school reopens and I can go be somewhere away from him for hours at a time.

I feel like I'm still recovering also, but I can't figure out why. Friday we took the day off and finished choosing all our materials for the bathroom. 4 weeks until work starts! Then we had dinner with my parents at an oyster bar. Just, yum. Saturday was a game, and then yesterday was chores and a short hike. 

My excitement today will be going to the office. The floor that I used to work on in my prior role is being repurposed as a "neighborhood" when the office reopens, something about hotel spaces. Anyway, whatever, I need to go clear my stuff out of my storage drawer. My office is still basically shut down with a whole authorization process for anyone that needs to come on campus. Apparently it's very weird to be there. I'm just hoping to get down there and back without getting stuck in traffic.

Sounds like a fun weekend @VarunaTT, I wanted to hear a report back on the movie “old” but I guess you didn’t make it?  I’m thinking of going after work tonight for it. 

@short+sassy Hawaii in Feb sounds amazing.  Glad you got that booked! And happy your H is enjoying the studying part for his job
Sorry @mrsconn23 that H is so down, but I’m sure those are are natural feelings because of what the company is going through.

Other than that, one of my friends canceled on me for Saturday’s festival/hanging out plans and this is the 2nd time in a row that she did.  Lately I’m not feeling our friendship from her (last few years actually) and I’m putting all the effort into us meeting up, it seems.  You know how we had that discussion on how friendships change over the years? I think I have to come to terms with that. 

Wreath making on Friday was fun! Lavender, eucalyptus and boxwood wreaths.  It took 1 hour to get there, 1.5 hour workshop and then another 1 hour back. But what else am I doing with my time? I had help with the bow from the instructor, apparently I’m not a bow person.
I got a vivace microneedling treatment on Saturday. I LOVED the results the first day. My fine lines were miracously gone.  But then Sunday they came back. Fainter than before, but they were there. I hear it takes 3 treatments and then the final results are 6 months after, so I’m not mad at it.  The little improvement I did see I was happy with!

Had a crazy busy weekend! Got home Friday night and was in cleaning hyper-mode for a good 4 hours to get everything perfect for showings. We ended up having 40 showings between Saturday and Sunday.We had to be out of the house Saturday by 8:30. My dad came and picked up our cats and I took the dog to my in-laws. H went to our friends house to help him install kitchen cabinets so I didn’t see him all weekend. I was kind of a nomad with the girls all weekend hopping around to family and taking them places because we only had a very small window of time withought showing so it wasn’t even worth going home.

By Sunday, we had 20 offers! The Realator came over to our house in the eveinging to talk over all the offers. We ended up getting an amazing offer that was pretty-much a no-brainer so we accepted. I am so relieved I could cry. It was much more than we were even hoping for, so this will be huge for us!

We have the final walk-through on the new house tonoght and we get the keys tomorrow!

Happy belated birthday @charlotte989875! 

Great news about HI! @short+sassy We had a lot of fun at the Kualoa Ranch and also on a tour called Captain Bob’s Picnic and Sailing Adventure (https://www.captainbobspicnicsail.com/). The sailing trip was actually recommended to us by several people who live on Oahu and it was great. I was on the fence about it originally but I’m glad we did it. 

Weekend was okay. I died Friday night and slept ten hours, which is unheard of for me. I think it was residual jet lag and the exhaustion of bs shenanigans at work. What a way to come back, ugh. Saturday I got my nails done and then FI and I had a semi successful date night at home. He was in a little bit of a bad mood for some of it but he eventually snapped out of it. Yesterday I hiked with FSIL and then mostly just relaxed at home. I thought trying to clean the house might have been too much and the barely 6 hours of sleep I got last night are agreeing with that. 

Otherwise it’s off to work today for more shenanigans. I need to get a fire under my butt and put out some feelers for other things.

I did not.  I was thinking about going to a movie tonight, but the truth of the matter is that I need to sleep more.  The movie group I belong to for my movie pass is very mixed bag about it and it seems to be either you like it or you don't.  Same with Snake Eyes.  I'll probably try to go tomorrow.

Had a fantastic party Friday night for the Olympics/early birthday. So much sushi and nearly every bit eaten, then a tolerable baby shower Saturday and a restful Sunday. I’m so excited for vacation I actually did a trial of packing my bag 🤣. 14 business days left and I need to get on top of getting things off my plate. My coworkers all are super responsive on vacation and I refuse to work at all so always try really hard not to leave stuff unfinished.

Shittastic Friday and weekend but a glimmer of good news when I found out I'm getting a nice size credit for repairs noted in the inspection. That is definitely not something you can get in this market but I'm very happy. And the repairs quote is coming in lower so I can add some extra stuff for him to do that wasn't critical but can be covered.  I also think I will buy new ceiling fans and light fixtures that I want to change out because since he's already there I can have him do those too and just pay the extra charge. I'm sure it will be cheaper to have him do when he's there for other projects vs hiring him to come out another time and just do a few lights/fans.  Now to find some things that won't break the bank but still will be nice

I can't remember if I told you guys, but my brother and SIL are having a baby! Due in January. They announced it on social media this weekend so I can finally start telling people...haha. 

I dealt with more drama from my ex last week. He somehow was again able to report my cell phone as stolen. I ended up buying a new phone, but honestly I'm still on edge about some other way he can try to fuck with me. I'm just uneasy. And unfortunately that kind of messed with my weekend? The guy I'm seeing did come over Friday night, and we hung out most of the day Saturday. And then I really wasn't productive the rest of the weekend. I did laundry and watched the Olympics...and that's it.

Yes, my first niece or nephew! And also will be the first grandchild on both sides! Our families are over the moon. They're doing a very small gender reveal on the 7th with just the family and I cannot wait! 

It's really hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that he still won't leave me alone. It was a conscious decision for him to AGAIN report my phone stolen and I assume he was somehow doing it by the serial number. It makes me worried about what else he can do to me.

Had a huge meeting with senior people this morning that went really well. I’m not sure what will come of it but I hope a move to a different division. I’ve had enough of where I’m at and this would be really exciting.

Ssdd. Slowly getting packed. Today I went downtown and bought the beaded slippers my mom was asking for, that is crossed off my to-do list. Tomorrow I may go to the post office and get my international drivers license. I think my UAE license will be accepted by the rental car companies but I *think* Connecticut requires the international license too? Better safe than sorry anyway. Wednesday I will go to the gym, then a doctor's appt to do the NIPT test and then coffee with a couple friends in the afternoon. My one friend has kind of seemed distant for the better part of a year. She is in our group coffee chats but never accepted an invite to meet up or said anything about a better time. I thought it was because she was working but then found out she hasn't been working since January! But she reached out to get together before I leave, and I am happy to of course. Thursday, not a lot planned. Friday, I might go get a massage and pedicure. Saturday we will hopefully just be twiddling our thumbs until it is time to go to the airport.

I don't really know why he so insistent on still trying to fuck with me. AFTER the divorce was finalized, he tried telling me that he owed money on my phone still. Which he never brought up in 12 months of divorce proceedings. 

Maybe a week or so before the divorce was signed off on the judge, he had shut my phone off. At the time, I was still on his bill. And I had told him both in email and through my lawyer that I wouldn't be able to move my phone off his bill without his Verizon pin number. He knew this. And then he shut my phone off. Thankfully I was with a friend so I contacted him from her number. He tried saying that he didn't think I was using the phone anymore because I never responded to any text messages. Ugh, his number was blocked because he took out an OOP against me! And we had only been communicating through our lawyers or email. He made me unblock his number to turn my phone back on. Not once did he mention owing money on my phone. 

I told him that week to let me know when he'd be around so I could take my phone off his bill and keep my number. He never got back to me, so I just changed my number and put it on my own bill. That's when he started this crazy shit about still owing on my phone. My lawyer told him to submit a bill proving this. I told him to show me a bill. Nothing. And then Memorial Day weekend he reports my phone as stolen. It was a huge fucking mess for me to fix, but Verizon assured me he wouldn't be able to do it again. 

Well, apparently he decided to pull this shit again last Thursday. I started getting the same messages saying my device wasn't approved for use. 

At this point, I've yet to see any bill proving he owed money on that phone. I've not been in contact with him. I can only assume it has something to do with control. Which, what the fuck bro? Our divorce has been final since May. I moved out of the house 9 months ago. You got what you wanted. Move the fuck on!

Also can you call your phone provider and advise that anyone but you cannot say anything on your file?

8/11, though it needs some work and the  plan is to move at the end of August. Unfortunately these traits are what is making this much more difficult and I can't simply just be like "take him to the cleaners" bc I'm trying to ensure he is happy with things and thus it makes things a bit easier on my end even if I'm coming out on the losing end $ wise.
