I have to do an in person medicare education session for a client today. Not a big deal but I know that there will be 1-2 people in person, if that, and anyone else will be virtual so I'm annoyed to be going in.  I did this session for them 2 years ago and they only had 2 people -- and that was prepandemic -- because they didn't advertise it well.

About a month ago my boss and I did a live session on a different topic elsewhere that also had a virtual option and no one came live, it was just us presenting to the camera.  I don't understand why these employers/groups don't reach out ahead of time and say no one is going to be there, just stay remote and present virtually.

That would drive me bananas @kvruns. Are you still primarily remote unless a specific meeting/request? Is your commute different from the new house?

Really dumb shopping dilemma- H for me a gift card to one of my favorite running apparel companies for my birthday. They’re running a sale on sale right now and there’s a few things I like but I’m not dying for. They also haven’t fully released their fall line yet and I could use it to get something (full priced) when it’s release. WWKD? Get a few things or wait and maybe get one thing later??

Also- I’m cleared to run again after the stress fracture! The weather is finally cooling off! And baby M’s sleep streak continues! So much good.

OH man, I think I'd wait for the new stuff if you're not in love with the 'sale on sale' stuff, @charlotte989875.  Or split it and use some now and some later...just realizing you may shell out additional $$ if your GC balance is slightly used. 

That sounds annoying AF @kvruns. 

DH is off the rest of the week and goes back next week for just 2 days and then he's donezo at current job.  

SSDD otherwise.  This week has felt like a thousand years already. 

Also, not ready for camping one bit.  LOL Oh well, we know what we need and there's stores where we're going.

Rant: I have co-irker I'm not a fan of for personal reasons, so her hitting me up is annoying from that POV.  We've been on our team the same amount of time.  I swear she hits me up once a week to ask about shit she should *know* how to address or resolve.  I never ask her anything unless it's about the one specialty thing she does (writing response scripts) to make a suggestion. 

It's too early for her shit this morning.

@charlotte989875 I think I would wait until their fall line. If that doesn’t have anything you like you might find some of the stuff on sale now for clearance prices anyways so win win.

I’m exhausted and burnt out. Seriously considering looking for another job although all of healthcare is pretty much a burnt out dumpster fire at this point. We had a staff member quit yesterday, and while it wasn’t altogether unexpected it’s still annoying. I have two more days of work until my four day weekend. 

Otherwise SSDD. Im waiting for my PT appointment to start and then heading to work. Tomorrow I leave early for my Botox and then Friday I’m off. We decided to do a little BBQ for FIs bday on Saturday so I have to prepare for that too. I told FI after this no events for awhile. I need a moment to just be and not people. Im really hoping they don’t close Yosemite for our trip. All of the other national parks in CA are closed until September 17. Climate change and the fires can suck it. Im also really tired of it being smoky for three months straight now every year. It was not like this growing up. I’m a sour platypus today.

@charlotte989875 yes we are fully remote through the end of the year but can choose to go in the office. Even after the new year we will have flexibility.  I am significantly further away from the office - mileage probably not huge but traffic makes it a looooong drive so I told my boss even before I moved I would need to be mostly remote because I can't make that drive every day while being the one to do all drop off/pickup at daycare.  She was on board and said the org fully supports me

for me it would depend on what you need/could use. Will the fall line have anything you really need more than what you already have? I always think of it as new colors, slightly new style but really nothing earth shattering so I'm always team get on sale. But if you think you'd rather have winter gear then maybe wait and see if they run a black friday type sale

I hate people like that! Especially when it's basic stuff that she should know how to do. We all forget every once in a while but if its stuff she's done/answered before then that would drive me crazy too

@charlotte989875 I’m all for the “freshness” of fall.  Do you run year round?  If you run outside year round it could be worth it, if you do indoors in the winter maybe get some clearance summer stuff for the summer?  I dunno.  I’d be in the same spot too.

I wanted to see “dark house” yesterday but started to get a headache after lunch.  It only got worse when my coworker would do a half cough half throat clear that came out of nowhere.  It was so LOUD my brain pounded every time she did it.  I made it to 4:23 and then went home to take tylenol and a nap. Worked like a charm.
ETA: Happy September- almost October everyone!!!

My kids started school today- raining cats and dogs to we took the obligatory chalkboard pic indoors and then "in front of the school" with umbrellas.  They all seemed happy and calm- really glad they'll be masked again this year.

I do run year round @charmedpam although since we’ve gotten a treadmill I’m a bigger baby about running in the ice/snow!

My week is dragging too. There's some stupidity afoot at work, but whatever. Hopefully the rest of the week will go quickly and we can get to the long weekend.

Man, closing that discussion was some BS, Knot.  No one was mean to that OP, she just got advice she didn't care for.  Plus, you don't even have an active mod on here anymore and the boards are nearly dead anyway, so why does the Knot care NOW?!?!

Anyway, SSDD here.  Nothing much to report.  Work is work.  I just realized it was a 3 day weekend and I'm so freaking happy, b/c I get to sleep in!!  Then I took next Friday off to go out of town and so I'll get to sleep in again!!

I'm going to figure out how to do the finger curls in my hair for next Friday.  I got time and some skill, so I think I can do it.

Side note - I have a meeting on the 15th with my boss and coworker to start my hours since I passed my course.
It's like an apprenticeship - 50 amount of hours, including 3 that have my boss before I'm officially qualified.

Pretty sure I will be, but I'm hoping to be done before end of the year so I can be up for the pay bump They usually only do it at the end of the year
