Wedding Woes

Monday

Ugh weekend wasn't insanely busy but busy enough that I could use a day to recover from the weekend.  Oh well.  Today is the start of the third quarter / second semester, so we're about at the halfway point at least.  How's everyone else?

Re: Monday

  • I should've stayed and worked from home, blech.  I don't even drive a full mile and it was treacherous on the roads.  I deal with a little bit of a guilt complex b/c I'm so close (less than a mile), so I feel like I should try to make it in.  It's gross outside and our roads were terrible.  I think they're just going to be getting worse, so I might WFH this afternoon, spend the morning prepping to do that.

The weekend was good, but I spent a lot of it down.  I think my allergy shot really hit me hard this time.  I didn't feel good, the nurse that gave me the shots hurt me this time and must've moved the needle b/c I have a pretty big bruise, and my right ear is super trying to get an infection.  I canceled the few plans I had because I just needed to sleep it out.  I think I'm better, but blech.  Only a few more weekly shots to go, hopefully.

Otherwise, SSDD.  Starting to get to that "new overwhelmed" point, but working through it.
  • Why does the weekend always go so fast?

Had a great and fun weekend. Had fancy wine and fancy cheese. Played some board games. Went to brunch. Watched football. Cooked and baked.
I slept like shit last night though so I'm exhausted today.
  • Had a busy weekend!

Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon Chiquita was in the play.  She did a GREAT job and the kids efforts really paid off.

Yesterday she finished a big project and I tried out my sous vide that I'd never used before.  Made delicious strip steak!

This week I need to get everything together for DH's birthday AND prep to camp.   Conveniently it's in a yurt but it's going to be SO COLD.  Last night I hopped on Amazon and bought long underwear and lined pants.
  • Weekend was good. BK slept over at IL's this weekend. She wasn't suppose to go until almost 2, but she asked them if she could go earlier. They obliged lol

M & I had lunch and did groceries.
Idk how much I can do in person groceries .... it costs me so much more every time.
I got a good little tenderloin for under $7 - hopefully it's not all bone

I was able to take a nap in the afternoon, then M & I went for dinner.

    I purchased some fake nail from walmart - Kiss brand? Anyways I put those on while we watched Austin Powers - Spy who shagged me {I know this movie so well lmao}

Sunday M & I went to the gym. Unfortunately I had a headache but I figured I could power through.
    0 stars. Do not recommend.
I tried to do some low impact stuff at the end - 10min on treadmill walking, but I got 8:30 and felt so dizzy. Stretching and sat on a chair for awhile.
Advil did zero, so luckily I had naproxin left from my dentist appt {works great when your jaw hurts} and took a nap. Woke up to Penny rubbing and bonking my head lol

BK came home tired, so she lay on the couch a bit. I thought she'd fall asleep but nope. Little rest and she's good lol
  • Agree that the weekends just go too fast. It doesn't feel like it should be Monday already.

Fairly chill weekend here. My sister had us all over for dinner on Friday night to welcome my parents back from their big trip. Saturday I ran and did yoga. H was going to go with me, but he blew it off and fixed the fence instead. Which means I didn't have to fix the fence, so yay for that. We mostly just ran errands and read yesterday, since it was ugly and rainy all afternoon. I continue to look forward to the end of dry January. Cuddling up with a book yesterday probably would have been more enjoyable with wine and cheese.
  • Side note it's fkn cold for the next week
    Like -33*C one day :\

The canal in our city isn't open yet - the ice isn't thick enough.
    We'll see if winterlude happens.
  • Good afternoon.  Weekend was alright.

We had an open practice to attend for wrestling and then we went to dinner Friday night.  Saturday, I slept in and then we made a Costco run.  DefConn went to a friend's, so DH and I went day drinking and then went to get the rest of the groceries we needed for the week.  We hung out the rest of the day/night, not doing too much. Sunday, I went to get my nails done, and then we had the dads and kiddo over for football.

I'm tired today.  I was dead asleep when my alarm went off this morning and I just can't shake being sleepy.  The weather isn't helping since it's cold and dreary and the roads were crap this morning.
  • @charlotte989875 talk to dr - I use to get them a lot as kid. They had to do other testing etc to make sure no other internal issues

I‘m back to the grind today but all caught up(ish). I was actually with @short+sassy on the cruise with her :) We (or at least I) had a wonderful time! Even at a rainy and cold port.  Came back to 20 degree weather last night and apparently we’re going down to the negatives tonight.

We also have a police officer in our office all this week and last.  We fired someone last week while I was gone who had snapped at our boss in the past and we’re all a little leery of what he could possibly do.  The company is taking it safe.
Glad to work from home tomorrow, I need to plow my driveway and rest some.

@charlotte989875, ugh! I always get yeast infections when I’m on an antibiotic. Sometimes when I’m put on one, i’ll ask my doc for a one time pill covered under insurance rather monistat for $15.
I pinch! I pinch those cheeks in that picture!
@MissKittyDanger, I love kiss! My hair dresser says her nails last 2 weeks on her (she told me about that brand) but I’m at a week only.  Guess I’m rougher with them? Still, pretty cheap for a week of pretty nails.
@VarunaTT sorry about those side effects.  Sounds like they take a lot out of you :(

  • @CharmedPam honestly for the price I don't mind if they last a week. My mum's hoping for 2 weeks when she tries them. I like changing my nails a lot lol
  • I also had a great time on the cruise!  It feels "wrong" to be back at work, lol.  I had no idea it was so warm in Mexico/Central Amercia, even in January.  Except for the rainy day in Cozumel, we had sun and temps in the high 70s the rest of the time.  It was awesome.  Though I did at least come back to decent temps, albeit gloomy and rainy skies.

While I was gone, my house got tented and fumigated.  That seemed to go off well.  Though I felt really bad my H needed to do all the work.  Anything food or medicine wise that isn't factory sealed needs to be removed from the house.

We closed on one of the duplexes, though there was a $1500 charge I'm not understanding and am annoyed it wasn't explained to me ahead of time.  Because I emailed asking about it before the closing happened.  My property taxes were due on Feb. 1st.  So, of course, they got paid TWICE (eyeroll).  My mortgager paid it.  But the payment hadn't hit by closing, so that money was also deducted out of my proceeds by the title company.

At least I'm that much closer to blowing this popsicle stand, lol!
