I'm going to start the day with a feel good news story.

Two New Orleans high school girls solved a 2,000 year-old "impossible" mathematical problem.

Here's what they did cut from the news story.  Trigonometry is based on Pythagoras' Theorem (A^2 + B^2 = C^2), but using trigonometry to prove Pythagoras's Theorem is what's known as circular logic.  They found a way to prove the theory using trigonometry WITHOUT circular logic.

I think I am finally past my funk, thank god. Been working out all week, drinking tons of water and slept really well last night. Of course it helps as well that it finally feels like spring is coming. 

We just started Daisy Jones and the Six. Anyone else watching it? I like it so far.

We are in Virginia to see FIL. DD and her family arrive tomorrow. Great grandsons and Grandpap meet for the first time! H is over at FIL's condo going through more stuff so it can be listed. We leave for home on Sunday. DD and fam will spend a couple of days with us since it is the twins' spring break. They (the twins) are spending the night with DS2 tonight while mom, dad and baby brother stay in a hotel. I think they are excited about that. They've never been to Funcle's apartment. I've been at the hotel this morning - working out, getting dressed, and doing computer stuff. I think I might even read a bit before H comes to get me. Looking forward to Prudie Day.

I am interested in Daisy Jones and the Sixes.  I get an "Almost Famous" vibe from it.

I finally started watching the second season of Ginny & Georgia last night and i love it. I watched the first season on maternity leave and am super excited that it's back! 

I feel like an idiot at work and it's been a long time since i've felt like i don't know what i'm doing. Frustrating even though i like the job a lot. 

Trying to figure out a couple things to do this Saturday by myself since H is going to be gone most of Sunday golfing with some buddies. Maybe yoga and an IKEA trip?

I made it through our 2-day internal conference at work. It was EXHAUSTING but good. 

H and I just got into a fight about the contractor. I’m so tired of this whole mess.

Last night I left work early and had a retreatment done on a root canal from yeeeeeeears ago.  But he opened it up, started it, told me he felt like finishing was a waste of time and money and closed it up and I got a recommendation for an oral surgeon to go further. But I need my general dentist to evaluate and refer me to one first, so that won’t happen till April 4th. I was complaining to my friends about all my recent tooth issues, despite brushing and flossing and doing everything right and my friend goes “you probably don’t want to hear it, but I think bariatric surgery patients have dental problems, no?”.  I looked it up.  We do. Actually any surgery that involves anesthesia can.
so great. I’m doing all I can to up my self esteem and now I’m losing hair AND teeth?!?

Way to go girls @short+sassy...I'm in one geometry class this year and the last unit covered included the Pythagorean Theorum.  Yikes.

Dragging a touch from being out late at parent/teacher conferences last night.  Happy with what I heard from my kids' teachers though.  Also had a constructive chat with my oldest's school SW.  She's been having some big feelings so although she has a therapist outside of school, I'm glad she also has an SW in school she has access to and a relationship with.  The SW is going to reach out to stbxh today and let him know that DD expresses feelings of sadness over not seeing him consistently or often.  I was briefly on the fence, because he's going to blow up (he's extremely anti-therapy/counseling, talk of feelings, talking about family problems with people not in the family).  But, he's always mad about something anyway, it may as well be this, at least he'll hear from someone other than me that his actions have consequences.  Whew, I'm tired.  And glad for Thursday and the spring-like weather we have today.

I'm ready for this week to be over.  I'm somewhat procrastinating an assignment that has to be finished today.  I'll get it finished, I'm just over some of the issues I'm having here.  It's not anyone's fault here, it's the person I took over for.  The amount of work I'm having to redo, so I can even start to do thing I need to be doing is wearing me down.  It's just frustrating and I'm ready to have things caught up.  But 4 months isn't enough, this'll be a year long project probably.

@CharmedPam, Huh!  I wonder why bariatric surgery causes dental problems.  Not so much teeth themselves, but diabetes and chemotherapy can destroy gums.

My gums have been a huge problem for me.  I gave up on them a long time ago.  I now have 90% bone loss on my upper teeth. My dentist told me over two years ago that I should remove them and get dentures.  No one ever told me bad gums cause bone loss until that visit.  Whatever.  I 'm not doing that until they start to get loose and none of them are.  But apparently that is the future I have to look forward to.

Good luck with everything, once you can finally meet with an oral surgeon.

Dental care is yet another failing of the healthcare system in our country.  Most dental insurances max. out at $1K/year for what they will pay for procedures.  But there are so many necessary dental procedures that cost WAY, WAY more than that.

DH got one fake tooth because the nerve died and the tooth was not saveable.  It was $2500+ out of pocket, plus it took months between the tooth removal and the new tooth being created and installed.

Kudos to those girls! I pulled out my calculator to add 32+17 the other day because I was paranoid I’d get it wrong lol. 

I pulled the trigger last night and booked a trip in the local wine country. I shouldn’t have booked the most expensive place, but it’s our one year married and ten years together and I’ve always wanted to stay there. We do have an old work thing to go to the next day which is also down there, but that shouldn’t be too bad and then we can get to the rest of our trip. I wish we could have spent one more night, but 2 nights was pricy enough. As mentioned in another post, I looked up horseback riding because I miss it and wine tour would be fun and easy for H, but I don’t think he’ll be in the headspace for it. He easily gets anxious. I think and hope it will be a lot of fun but coordinating it over the next day and a half is going to be rushed since I work today and H works today and tomorrow. Oh well. Look at me and my type A personality being “spontaneous” with this trip I’ve been mulling over for the past six months. Ha.

*hugs* @charlotte989875 construction is hard. H has been sooo salty about our bathroom situation but it is what it is for us at this point. Just trying to get it finished this year….3.5 years after demo

@ei34 I like your approach.  He can complain as much as he wants but the end result is that his kids are frustrated by his behavior.  This is all on him.

Woke up with such a headache. I haven't been sleeping great, so I know that's a factor but let's add rain/freezing rain today and it's just ... urg.

I've been in a back and forth with my condo corp and I'm just beyond frustrated.

I'd previously parked in front of my house. Told I can't due to fire zone - whatever, not arguing but pissed about it because apparently some neighbors have been complaining? Zero mentions to us. Whatever.
Anyways so I'm like ok I'll park in visitors because it's an hour so we can eat dinner and then swap cars.

Last night I get a fkn email from condo corp saying I can't.
I explain I get home at 5:30, eat dinner then we move cars - it's there maybe an hour?
Still can't do it.

What the fuck!?

M & I are complying because we're just so frustrated at this point.
If I get another email about something from them, I'm claiming harassment because all that? Within a week.
Like fuck right the hell off.

@MissKittyDanger what are the parking rules for your condo?   

I had my own gripe years ago with our condo assoc.  We have assigned spots and visitor spots.  I took the assigned, the convertible was in a visitor spot against a fence and DH parked on the street (perfectly legal to street park).    We had a winter of a few storms and the procedure that the condo association decided we had to follow was that the plow guy would call and give us about 10 min notice and we had to move our cars to the street so he could plow the lot.  Then when he was finished (about 20 min from the initial call) we moved our cars back to the parking lot.   

The issue: the convertible wasn't moved if DH wasn't home (which was normal working hours).  DH specifically parked to the side and in front of a dumpster so there was the least effect to the lot.  The condo president called and said "people are complaining" that the car wasn't moved.  I nicely said it was a stick shift and in a manner of speaking to pound sand.  I'm not letting other people drive that car and if we get zero notice to move the cars and legally can't park on the street (enacted during storms) I'm also not parking the car on there for the snow fall either.  It was the only call I received and he was on the way to buying a house within a year.

So he's parked in the driveway when you get home? Can you call him when you're outside so he can just come right out and you can switch cars then? 

I owned a townhome that was very strict about that too. They would tow your car if it was in a visitor spot. I do get it on both sides, because the visitor parking was always so limited that if I even had 1 friend over, there was no where for them to park.

Did you all know that Amazon has a pharmacy?!?!  It has great prices and I'm completely stunned.  Some prices are the lowest I've seen, though still not amazing.  But one of my prescriptions was unbelievable.

This is the headache medicine I complained about a month ago that used to be $55 with Good Rx. But then the classification changed and when I tried to fill it, it was $275 with Good Rx or $354 with my "insurance discount".  That was even the generic version.  So I didn't fill it.

That same medicine is only FIFTEEN dollars at the Amazon Pharmacy!

It's also super easy to see prices, which isn't true when trying to Google for prices.  Put the name of the medication in the Amazon search engine and viola.

I'm exhausted! I spent three plus hours cleaning my FIL's kitchen today. It still isn't done. I scrubbed the outside of the dishwasher, refrigerator and cabinets where his wheelchair had made scuff marks. Cleaned the disgusting microwave and refrigerator, wiped down counters and made a pile of stuff to throw out. This kitchen is really small -only one person can really fit in it. I'm super salty about my SIL not doing anything since my H left a month ago. He spent the better part of week there going through paper work and shredding stuff. She hadn't even taken the trash to the curb that he generated that trip. He wasn't there on trash day or he would have done it. I know she had trouble dealing with her mother's death 7 years ago and FIL's situation has made it even worse but good grief! I asked her about throwing away some tupperware (2 containers) and she said she hadn't decided yet. She is the executor of FIL's trust and has final say on everything. The townhouse needs to be sold no later than the end of this year to pay for FIL's  care. I don't see this happening unless something changes. H is the oldest of 5 kids. He is the only one doing anything now. SIL has been FIL's major care giver up until this past Thanksgiving so I cut her some slack but still. I don't think the refrigerator had been cleaned since MIL died. OK rant over thanks for letting me vent.

It's called Cost Plus and I've seen nothing but rave reviews.  However, it's a new concept on top of being a new company, so the medicines that can be bought there are very limited.

When I checked, they didn't have anything I take (or should take but can't afford to).  I probably checked about 5 different medications.  However, I did not check prescriptions that are already low cost for me from Walmart.

But I am going to keep checking every few months because I assume they will be rapidly adding new medications.  Maybe someday (sigh).

There's enough visitors parking, and if it was pack constantly it'd be different - also it's never on weekend when people have visitors.

My thing is what if we had a visitor same time every day that my car is there? Like this wouldn't be an issue.
